    Coastal Chimney and Masonry
Played a little bit of phone tag initially setting up an appointment to meet (it was a holiday weekend), but once Brent showed up to the house, everything went smooth. From previous inspections, I already knew my chimney needed a liner; he inspected it himself, gave me a quote and told me it would take a week to get the liner/parts. Sure enough, the liner/parts showed up a week later, he completed all of the work in one day, and for the price he quoted me. Would definitely recommend Brent Barker and Coastal Chimney and Masonry.

Don was able to order the door and hardware for me . Picked up the door and delivered to my home. Removed old door and installed new door which required new trim, new threshold, new hardware, and lastly sanded down and stained the door. The stain I chose was a little too light on the sample but Don was able to work with it applying several coats until the color was perfect!! I was concerned that the finish on the door was too shiny. He was able to purchase the final coating with a matte finish which was exactly what I was looking for. He was very attentive and has a great eye for detail. He will continue working until you are satisfied ! The door looks beautiful and adds so much to our home!! We have used Don for many renovations, new roof, new addition, renovation of bathroom and kitchen and basement. He also refinished our hard wood floors. Removed a chimney and installed huge floor to ceiling windows. All of his work is outstanding and I get many many compliments on his work. Extremely hard worker and very honest!

Jack and his team are top notch all the way.  From the first call to inquire about the project, Jack was in the area and came over in about 15 minutes,  fully explained the job and we set the date.  He and his team were on time and did a great job on the install and left the work area cleaner than it was when they got there.
A few weeks later there was a problem with how the stove was functioning and the place where I brought it from weren't much help in covering the warranty repair but Dublin was right on it.  Jack even recommended a friend to do the tile work I needed as well and he proved to be a great resource who did a great job as well.  There is a reason they come up first on the listings here. A+++ all the way, couldn't be happier with the service!

My oil man, Peerless furnace rep and several chimney sweeps came to my home with various solutions and did extensive research on line re: condensation/soot staining our  chimney and roof shingles. I got various answers none  of which I thought would solve the problem.  Finally I called DUBLIN's owner "Jack" and explained my problem of soot staining my exterior chimney and new roof shingles.  Jack  visited my home and spend a lot of time to find the problem.  We decided to replace liner that was installed 7 years ago.  Greg, Jack, Brett found that the exiting liner was not installed properly and the TEE was
not installed in the interior of chinmey therefore soot was escaping to the exterior.  Excellent teamwork, excellent job.

    ROOFING SOLUTIONS

The quality, duration, and completion of job have not been as described in contract or website. Signed contract on 6/4/13 for new siding and new skirting. The contract stated work was to begin 6/17 and was to be completed within two weeks. Work did not begin until 6/28, partially because Roofing Solutions had not ordered the siding until 6/21. They stopped work on 7/12 while a rotted rim joist was replaced by another contractor. The joist was replaced on 7/17 and Roofing Solutions was notified. Following nearly two weeks of almost daily promises to return, they finally showed up on 7/29 and worked less than a full week. The following Monday, 8/5, noone shows and as is the norm whilst dealing with this company there was no call informing us not to expect them. That afternoon my wife calls and is told that the skirting has to arrive before they return and that the skirting should have already arrived. Ya think? I would have thought two months would have been ample time for them to get their act together and have the needed supplies on hand for when they would become necessary. Especially considering the same thing happened with the siding. After all these are supplies which were required as part of the original contract signed 2 months prior. It's not as if this is a new change to the contract. It is now 8/11 and we have not seen the contractor for over a week. The job that was supposed to have been completed within 2 weeks of work start has now exceeded two months. I've got an unfinished siding job, piles of trash and debris strewn all over the yard that my two year old used to be able to play in, and a crawlspace that has been open to the elements and local wildlife since the day Roofing Solutions arrived. I feel that I have been more than patient and considering the courtesy that has been shown to me and my family I have little remorse for filing this complaint.  I want the trash piles and debris scattered all over my lawn to vanish so my family and I can safely walk around in our yard, and I'd like the job I contracted for to be completed to my satisfaction in a professional and timely manner.  Since filing the initial complaint Roofing solutions returned for one day. They took away some of the trash and partially assembled the skirting. The job is still incomplete. I've also had the building inspector come by since that time and he noted a few minor discrepancies and two major, one of which involves how they covered the electrical cable with soffit. This apparently is a major code violation. The inspector will not sign off on the job until these problems are fixed. I have not been contacted since the day they returned which was over a week ago. Roofing solutions has been made aware of the problems found during the inspections but as of yet they have yet to be corrected. I've paid out over 6k so far and have had two other contractors out to the house to give estimates on repairing the most serious deficiencies and the lowest estimate that I received to correct those problems was $2700. That quote does not include aspects of the job that have not been completed. I have lost all confidence in this company taking care of the job on their own and I don't know what other avenues I have available to me aside from a court mandated one.

Update: 11/11/14 I'm still finding issues with the siding job.  They cut corners on almost every aspect of the job.  The siding is buckling in places, they failed to remove the old layer of bi-fold backer board so the siding extends beyond the window trim, wiring that was removed when the old siding came of the house was just left dangling, they covered up old rotted wood that was supposed to have been replaced with aluminum, much of the j channel was poorly done with jagged edges or large gaps that allow water to penetrate and get trapped behind the siding...I could go on.  Find yourself another contractor.

Very well, Jack came out within a half hour of me making the initial call since he was in the area.  We discussed the project and he and his team were there on time when we went to do the work, very professional , very thorough and left the place cleaner than it was when they got there, top notch all the way.  Offered to come back to make any adjustments needed since I didn't have time to put the hearth floor before the stove installation, which I probably should have thought of but didn't.

I would recumbent them without hesitation for any fireplace, chimney needs!  Thanks!!

They responded to my initial phone call and were on sight for an estimate within a few days. Zach arrived the very next day to do the work. He was very personable and professional in explaining the scope of the job, he even took some rooftop photos. The work was completed in less than an hour.
I could have opted for a much cheaper product, but that would not have afforded the level of protection that this company provides. This is a premium product at a reasonable price.

Existing galvanized chimneys were failing risking exposing members to Carbon Monoxide gas and the possibility of a chimney fire.  They quickly assessed the situation and recommended a solution replacing the improperly installed galvanized chimneys with 3-16 stainless steel units.

    • Brent from coastal chimney came over to inspect my chimney and to clean/sweep. Brent was very professional, and very knowledgeable in his trade. He is very honest in his findings, and price was very reasonable for work performed. He does not try to sell you things you dont need and will give you a detailed inspection sheet. Would highly recommend brent for any chimney needs.

They arrived on time for all appointments.  The did their work quickly and were very neat all through the process, vacuuming up all the mess that comes from a chimney and patching where they needed to cut with love.  They are all very personable and enjoy their work. I understand the needs of my boiler much better now.
