Basement Waterproofing reviews in Greenwich

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Michael was very professional and responded quickly to our phone call. His workers were very prompt and did a thorough job on our house. We were very pleased with the quality of the work done. The price was very fair in comparison to other quotes we received.

  • Went well.  Good customer service. Competitive pricing.  Honest.  Pleasure to work with.  I would recommend working with him in the future.  There was a minor issue in the system.  His team came back shortly thereafter, and fixed it at no charge.
Generally I've had issues with contractors, but not with Basement Solutions.  This firm is an example of the "good guys".  I would recommend them.

  • I was visiting Greenwich where I currently have a property on the market to rent. I met the realtor who told me that she had discovered water in the basement the previous week and we could see evidence of dampness remaining. Worried that there could be an issue with the  foundation, I called Joe to do an assessment. He was able to come the next day and inspected the basement, plumbing, and foundation. He told me he believed that there was an issue with the plumbing rather than the foundation but did point out drainage problems outdoors which could lead to future issues. His advice was to address the plumbing issues and then monitor for further leakage, at which time he would be happy to do a more in-depth assessment of what needed to be done. He told me that there was no charge for the visit since he was only providing advice on this trip. The plumbing has now been fixed and so far there is no more leakage. Joe was responsive, professional and pleasant, worked with my tight schedule, was prompt and did a thorough investigation. I was very impressed with him and will call him again if we do experience problems in the future.

  • It took about 3 days to do some demo work, waterproof the basement and add in the sump pumps. It rained this past week and for the first time- no water in the basement! The pumps are not loud at all, you could hardy hear them on, but I knew they worked when the floor wasn't wet. Christian and his team were on time and he would call me each day to let me know of progress. If you have water in your basement- call Christian!

  • Perfect sump pump installation
and foundation repair. These guys know what they're doing. I had tons of
cracks in the concrete walls and floors of my basement and Dry-X
completely stopped the water from coming in. And they got good sump
pumps for back-up just in case we have another flooding season.

  • We contracted with Dry-X Waterproofing in
July of 2013 to do a multi-step water proofing process in our home, I am
a retired Building inspector and have inspected thousands of homes and
businesses both New construction and remodels, I have seen some of the
best contractors and unfortunately some of the worst. The crew that was
sent to my home was very professional and always respectful. I was
contacted every morning before they started any work and they cleaned
their work area each day before leaving in the afternoon creating a
minimum impact on my wife and I throughout a very labor intensive
    process.
Was it noisy? Come on Jack Hammers and general construction cannot be
done without making noise, so yes for a time it was noise that should be
expected but the noise was kept to a minimum and we were warned before
the crew started this portion of the work and were even offered ear
    plugs if we needed them.
The foreman went over the whole process each day and
gave us a status before and after each days work.
We could not be happier with the job that we received but of course the
proof is in the pudding and I am sure after being allowed to check the
work each day that our system is very stable and will service all our
    needs for years to come.
By the way I never told the workers of my Background as a Building
inspector so they had no Idea that throughout the whole process I was
evaluating them not only as a client but as a Professional combination
    residential/commercial building inspector also.
Bottom Line our experience was great.

  • I am very pleased I met Jim via recommendation from a friend.  He is a true professional with a keen eye for detail and very high workmanship standards. I have had him work at my property without supervision over the last nine months on several jobs, and every job has exceeded expectations.
Job1: We had recently moved into a property that suffered from water ingress during heavy storms due to the positioning of the house.  Jim and his team completed a survey and recommended the installation of a vapor guard (not installed in my 1984 built house!),  foundation drains and a sump pump with emergency back up battery.  In addition he recommended adding dehumidifier equipment to regulate the air quality.
The installation went very smoothly - any mess was cleared up each evening leaving the room in a useable working condition.
Over two weeks, the team drilled the foundation in order to install the drains, installed the basement pump and then remodeled the basement with new drywall and paint.
We have had five rain storms where the pumps have fired up - every time saving me from a time consuming and expensive clean up job!! I am so glad we had them installed.
Job2: I asked Jim and his team to install a new bathroom set and install cupboards in our storage area.  Jim + his team quickly found a great deal on a new bathroom set and installed them professionally in under a week. They then painted and installed a new light, fan and door to a high specification.
Job 3: Jim and his guys removed all the old wooden storage in my garage and replaced it with metal cupboards sourced from Costco. They also installed an epoxy floor and painted the garage.  It looks amazing! The garage is now clutter free and much more usable.
I strongly recommend Jim's work - he is the best contractor I've found since moving into Greenwich two years ago.

  • We hired  DryX  to waterproof our basement and I truly couldn't be
happier!  They were clean, efficient and stood by their work.
They kept me well informed throughout the process.  They did a great job
keeping the house clean while doing all this work and I am VERY
satisfied with the results.  We got our first rain the night after
completion and everything worked perfectly. The basement is
completely waterproofed now and we are in the process of having it
finished. I couldn't be happier and I highly recommend this company!!!!!

  • Dry-X salesman came to our home promptly on time and reviewed the problems
with our basement. Water on floor, mold, and dampness. He had
credentials, proof of licenses and recommendations. Based on everything
their team came out on time and waterproofed the problem area, installed a sump pump as well as a
dehumidifier. The warranty will extend to the next owner should we sell.
It has been a full year and we have had no problems in our basement for
which we are very grateful. I am very hard to please and I would use
    them again.

  • When the ground around our property is saturated enough, we get water in our basement through walls and the floor. We have had a couple of people take a look at the basement and gotten a couple of estimates on different approaches, but we felt that most of them just didn't fully address the situation. We were looking for a more comprehensive analysis of the problem and an equally comprehensive solution that dealt with the root causes of the problem rather than just covering it up. The description of the service to be performed by C&C (as noted in the Angie's List Big Deal offer) was comprehensive and therefore attracted us.

When the guy showed up at the house in October 2011, all the equipment he brought was a tape measure and a clipboard. No drill. No camera. He looked at the basement, told us about the water intrusion problem we had (no kidding, we can all see that) and suggested ways to correct the situation. Then he left. After several months of asking for it, in January of 2012 he sent us a very simple estimate (with a different house listed on it) for the work, including a 40' french drain in the basement, sealing walls with waterproofing paint, and digging the existing sump well deeper for the existing sump pump. For that work, he would charge $7,250.

In summary, we were expecting a more thorough analysis based on the Big Deal email. There was no drilling. There was no camera work. The inspection was cursory at best. And the result was a very basic estimate. And for that, we paid $50. We reached out to them several times asking for a refund, but to no avail. By comparison, we have received better analysis and more comprehensive estimates from those other people we've had look at the basement in the past. And all of them have done it for free.
