We hired Brian last year to refinish our master bathroom when we called him to have our roof and gutters done. A friend of mine had referred me to his services because of the work he had done on his roof and his brother and fathers roof (refer to my other review for his roofing work). The work he did on our bathroom really turned out great! See Photos! He asked us how long we were planning on living in our home and recommended going more high end since we plan on living in our home well hopefully forever. Rather than going with lower quality big box products, we went with higher end faucets, toilets, granite, tile...that come at a higher pricetag but should last a long time. We ended up going over-budget on our allowances but we figured we would only be redoing it once. Our granite really broke the budget but it's definitely the centerpiece of the bathroom and is really beautiful. We added a fan-tech ventilation system to our bathrooms which is a really nice unit. We have 3 vents in our main master bathroom and 1 vent in the spare bathroom. Brian recommended it and it works great! No steam build-up in either bathroom and its super quiet because the motor is mounted in the attic. It wasnt cheap but I think it will help keep our bathroom clear of mildew or mold. Oh and he didnt just vent everything into the attic. He spent extra time up on the latter cutting out an exhaust port on the side of the house. Brian really does nice work and I felt like he doesnt take any shortcuts or skimp on materials. He wants things done correctly and in a way that his work is gonna last. I felt like any overages were reasonable, necessary, and not excessive. When he pulled the old shower out, there was considerable water damage to the subfloor that he recommended fixing. We even had him accomplish a few side jobs while he was working here. We had a wooden loft in my garage that I kept hitting my head on and he helped me raise it up. Our central vac system clogged up and he helped me clear it with my shop vac. He also mounted my tv antenna in the attic and snaked a cable wire into the basement. I had bought some tv cable and he told me to return bc he had a whole roll of it from some previous work. We would have had him redo our kitchen and laundry room but we were short of money to do everything that we wanted. One complaint was that he misquoted us for the shower door that turned out to be double the price of the quote. He could have just recommended putting a cheaper shower door on but I think he didnt want to cheapen the job with a crappy door. I felt like it was just an honest mistake while looking for prices and probably more of a result of a misleading sale advertisement at one of the big box stores. He ended up working really hard putting in the shower door to make up for the error rather than making us pay the glass company $1000+ they wanted to install it. Everything Brian does seems to be well thought out. He doesnt rush the project at all and works with you to really make everything custom. He spent considerable time working out the new angles on the tub/toilet area which really turned out nice! We really love the bevel that he put into the wall and the angle of the tub box. The molding on the shower piers really turned out nice. He spent some serious time on the position of the lights and mirrors over the cabinets to get them just right and even had to redo it once because my wife wasn't happy with how the spacing looked. He made sure the height of our shower was just right because Im pretty tall and need to have my faucet up high. Hes also a big fan of lighting which my wife and I share his enthusiasm for! Our bathroom went from a very dark looking old bathroom to almost like a high end operating room! My wife loves the lighting for doing her makeup. Brian could have a second career as a painter because he does a really nice job. I wish i had spent time helping him paint to learn some of his tricks because hes a really good painter.

Kurt was outstanding. He was prompt and courteous. And the work was excellent. The siding looks great and his efforts helped us save replacement of a very expensive copper cupola. You can't even tell it was damaged. I am so happy with Kurt's work that I have decided to hire him for some other work I have that is bigger in nature.

Kurt was quick to return my call after my initial inquiry in December and scheduled a time to come over and look at the issues and generate an estimate. At that time I was only looking to repair 2 windows, replace 1 window sill, replace the brick mold around one of the windows and replace damaged corner boards.  It took a little while to get the estimate, but Kurt was up front about the fact that he was busy and would be awhile before he could fit it in.
When it was finally my turn in the queue, Kurt came back out to refresh his memory about the details of the job and we set a date for him to start working. He started the job and pointed out some of the telltale signs of rot under paint to me. After this I looked much closer at my other windows and found more that needed work. Kurt was happy to add these into the job since he was already there and completed the work in a timely fashion. I have to say that Kurt is very good at what he does. One of my windows was so rotted that when I picked at the bottom of the sash, a giant chunk came off. Kurt took the window apart and fabricated the bottom rail of the sash with an excellent attention to detail. If I didn?t know better you would think it was a factory piece on the bottom and the window now operates flawlessly.
If you have any rot issues on your wood windows or need any of the other services he offers, give Kurt a call. I will certainly have him back next time I need an expert.

I found Kurt had a good deal for wood restoration on Angies List so I decided to give him a call. I contacted him by phone on 9/11/15 and told him the issue with my bay window. He told me to text him my address and all my contact information and he would get back to me. So I waited to hear back from him.
On 9/30 I decided to contact him since he apparently wasn't getting back to me. He instructed me to send him my information again and he would put it on his work sheet. For the next couple day we couldn't seem to work out a time where we could meet at my house so he told me to just send him pictures of the damage and he would work from those. I sent him a bunch of pictures on 10/4 and waited for a response.
On 10/6 I texted him again for an acknowledgement that he even got the pictures. He texted right back and said "Got them will have a price for U soon".
16 days later I texted him to see if he was going to be able to do anything for me before the snow falls and I never heard from him again.
So apparently if you can get this guy to do work for you he does a good job but I guess sometimes his poor business skills get in the way. Why would someone lie and not just be upfront about it.... I don't get it!

Bill is wonderful to work with - prompt to reply, pleasant, and knowledgable. For this particular project, we needed some baseboard molding installed in our living room and we contacted Bill to come give a quote. He got back to me quickly, popped over to the house on his way home and gave me an estimate, which actually ended up being the exact cost at the end, which I appreciated. Bill is busy (always a good sign!) so he was able to complete the project ~1 week later. It came out beautifully, especially considering that he had to work with 7 1/4" high boards in a 100+ year old house with some pretty uneven floors and walls. (We've also asked him about some structural work that we need done and plan to use him for that as well.) Would absolutely recommend.

Oliver and his team did a fantastic job ? the basement was completely transformed into a part of our home that feels integrated into the other floors, whereas previously it felt outdated and completely alien to the rest of the house.
Oliver discovered a series of issues/problems behind the original wallpaper and wall paneling (see photos), and the Bauhaus team addressed those issues once and for all in a way that was seamless with the rest of the project.
Oliver is a perfectionist (which we appreciated), but he was also very sensitive to our concerns about increased costs associated with these surprise issues, and worked hard to keep the additional costs as low as possible. In the end, we ended up paying approximately $2k above the original estimate for a full overhaul of the electrical and almost a week of additional work on the walls.
Oliver also worked closely with us to identify the kind of environmentally-friendly materials that we wanted while also making sure we got ceiling tiles, carpeting, paint etc. that were appropriate for a basement, and would last and look good.
The job was done in a 100% professional manner ? the job site was cleaned up every day, Oliver and the team showed up on time every day of the job, and he communicated with us often about the progress of the project and expected completion.
The outcome (see attached pictures) speaks for itself ? the project was a huge success. We will definitely work with Bauhaus again and would recommend them to friends and family.

First and most important, Bauhaus comitted to a 4.5 week completion and met that commitment.  The timing of the various projects (since this was a muliple job) was excellent.  This was very important to us that they stayed on schedule.  The quality of each project was excellent.  The company owner is a perfectionist and if he was not pleased with an aspect of the work, it was fixed or redone without delay.  He was more concerned than we were which is a refreshing attribute.  Additionally, the advise he gave for mechanical, construction and decorative issues was very good and alot of the time I went with his suggestions and in the end was very pleased with the outcome.  Before the town inspector was scheduled to come we did a final inspection ourselves and found zero defects or issues with the entire job.

I identified several repair projects that I needed to complete before putting my house on the market.  For carpentry-related projects, I rely on Hampton Remodeling Company.   I have been using them for projects since 2007.
I called the company and left a voicemail.  The owner, Lenny Patera, returned my call that evening and made arrangements to come out to see the projects.  Later that day, he sent a quote by e-mail, and followed up with a written one sent via USPS, which I signed and returned.  We made arrangements for the day on which work would be done.  Most of the projects were finished that day, with the exception of  project seven, replacing and regluing the laminate on the bathroom vanity.  The work was done professionally, and the work site cleaned thoroughly after the work was completed.  Shortly after the projects were completed, Lenny personally followed-up about my satisfaction with the work done.
One of the most frustrating things I have encountered as a homeowner is finding someone to do little repair projects.  Hampton Remodeling is willing to take on large and small projects.  I also find that Lenny is an excellent trouble-shooter when it comes to finding the cause of house problems.
