  • The problems were such that we were prepared for disappointment. Frost heaves had distorted the patio base, and the flower garden extension had actually pulled away from the house. Railroad ties had rotted in places. We were thrilled by the results. It looks like new! Best of all, they eliminated the causes of the problems so they won't happen again. And the price was reasonable.

  • Excellent. The whole team was professional, courteous and timely. Chris is very patient and knowledgeable. I asked him many questions to help fully understand my options and he fielded questions from repairability to the discontinued flat roofing methods. I can definitely say that if my roof needs any work in the future my first call (and likely last) will be to Chris Martin.

  • Peoples did a roof and window job for me and it was a job well done. I was very impressed by how fast the installers were and how efficienct their work was. The windows are not drafty and are very tight. They look much better than the old windows as well. I have had no problems with the windows or the roof since installation. So,etimes I test the windows by touching the glass and can tell that they keep the heat out or in as promised. Peoples was very convenient and got the job done well so I didn't have to lift a finger.

  • I hired PestRx a month ago (first trap apt was 3/10/17) for what I was sure was a squirrel issue in my attic. I was told what I thought I was hearing daily (during the day time) was really just mice. They insisted that they found no evidence of squirrels. They also said they had to get rid of the mouse problem before they could get rid of anything larger. I paid $516+ for an annual contract. I relied on their expertise to eliminate the problem. Three days ago, I called PestRX to complain about the continued noise in my attic and no improvements. The supervisor told me that if I was hearing noise during the day time (breakfast and dinner time), that is also a sign of something other than mice. While on the phone, I just happened to be staring out the window at our soffit vent at an area at the edge of my Gambrel roof where I thought animals were getting in as the trim paint was worn away in a large area (and I had pointed this out to the exterminator when he was last here) and I saw a squirrel coming out of the attic and was actually able to photograph it. Yesterday I was in my basement getting something and there was mouse just standing on the edge of stack of screens stored in the basement. I called PestRx and was told that they can come out with exterior traps and an attic trap for another $450 plus tax to get rid of the squirrels and it's only for one week! This is prosperous, I told them initially I had a squirrel issue and they dismissed me. It was a bait and switch. No pun intended. I had to figure out exactly what the problem is, take a photograph, and pay $450 plus tax for one week coverage for the very problem I called them in for initially. Bottom line I still have squirrels. OH and I still have mice. When I put out poison for mice and rats they drop dead within a week I have no idea what PestRx traps really do given that the mice seem to have not been affected. Zero dead mice anywhere. In all fairness, their office staff are friendly and they are prompt to their appointments, I read the fine print on the contract and it does say that squirrels are not included in their list of pets but it does list rats, which can be larger than squirrels, but I trusted PestRx. If they had listened to me up front, perhaps they could have suggested a different type of contract that included squirrels to ultimately save me money. These guys get great ratings on here but they do not deserve it. They ignore the customer, they double dip, and there is no evidence that mice are being eliminated by their efforts. Hey PestRx, listen to your customers! Quit charging for ineffective work!

  • We called in three different contractors that we found on Angie's List to get an estimate on having our floors refinished. Two of them took almost two weeks to get back to us, but the Mr. Hardwood rep gave us an estimate on the spot that was significantly lower than the others. Since this company was so highly rated we chose to work with them and we're glad we did. They showed up on time, did a beautiful job (sanding plus three coats of finish) and left no dust clean up. Before and after shots are included with this review. I can't say enough good things about them!

  • Griswold plumbing are the best plumbers I've ever hired. They came the same week I called them, gave me an estimate and did all the work. They did most of the work in one day and stayed late to finish it. The system looks and works amazing. They are professional, friendly, and experts. I highly recommend them.

  • Could hardly have gone better. Peter hand-delivered the roofing sample board to my place of work and always met my questions with timely responses. The work was completed quickly and professionally, even amid some of the hottest days of the year. And the finished roof looks great. I'm glad I chose PL Mountzoures for this job.

  • We had a wonderful moving experience with Men On the Move.  Peter DeCarlo was our rep who was extremely helpful and professional.  He assured us that everything would be okay especially since we had had some awful moves in the past.  Courtney was the leader of "troops" and the other gentlemen were just amazing and easy to work with. They came a day before the move in order to help us finish packing (we called them a "packing hurricane" due to their speed and efficacy). Everything was packed safely and securely.  Courtney made the move as easy and painless as possible and NOTHING BROKE!!!!!  We can't recommend them highly enough and would use them again in an instant.

  • Initially the contractor was prompt and very professional, taking measurements and providing a detailed proposal that required modifications do to a verbiage issue we had. The attention to detail provided in the proposal was what originally convinced us to choose this contractor over the 3 other quotes we had.  We received the final contract on May 15th, 2015 of which we signed and returned with payment for drawings and initial deposit  as stipulated in the contract. Originals where mailed on May 18th, 2015, and a scanned copy of all documents where emailed as discussed with North American Building (Devon).
Issues started to develop from the beginning that were minor in nature but continued to deteriorate over the span of the project.
5/24/15 Coordination of start of work:
    1. Contractor intended to file for permit 5/29/15 and expected to obtain by 6/1/15.  As of  6/8/15 Contractor was not able to provide the time required to obtain the permit so as the homeowner we took it on ourselves to speed up the process, even though it was in the contract for North American Building (NAB) to take care of permitting with us to pay for the cost. We received permit 6/17/15 and informed NAB.
    1. 2. Dumpster was delivered to the house 6/1/15 even though a permit was not secured taking up driveway space when no work or demo could take place.
    2. 3. 6/2/15 Received photo copies of the deck drawings - had to request hard copies from NAB for the building inspector in triplicate. For approval.
    3. 4. 6/22/15 Deck start date "1 month plus from contract sign date or notice to proceed"  Demolition in progress

    5. 6/26/15 Sill rot issue identified - we requested pricing for repair. Received proposal 6/29/15 and signed and returned as a Notice to proceed with the work while demo is completed.
    6. Start of deck framing installation 6/30/15 various issues identified; Missing joist hangers, water/ice shield to siding not installed, PVC plate not installed as indicated in the sill replacement quote with joist hanger installation against the house underway, Squaring corner cuts had to be redone, exterior beam support incorrectly supported. It should be noted that this was identified by us and not the contractor and submitted to NAB to correct. Same date 6/30/15
    7. 7/4/15 Framing installation on going and not installed per contract submitted and approved drawings. It should be noted that code violations pertaining to joist spans exceeding 13 feet for 2x6 lengths for a span that at max. should not exceed 9 ft. were identified and needed to be corrected, that where not picked up by the town building inspector and could have caused damage or even injury if not identified by us. Total deck length per plan drawing was shortened by a foot plus in both length and width of the deck. Offsets indicated by the contractor were required because the pool was not level, but the deck that was demoed was level with the pool. After sill plate was identified not installed in line 6, it was identified that the sill plate was not correctly secured to the house creating a gap. Note this was additional work and paid for above and beyond the estimated work. Deck frame code issues with securing frame to footings were again identified by us the homeowners.  Deck boards are now angled off the house and we were told this was because the pool and the house were not square however the deck that was taken down was square with both the house and the pool and no boards were at an angle.
    8. NAB indicated all issues had been resolved and some had been verified by us, but after completion of work, deck boards have been found to be loose and bouncy, decking boards are cracking and splitting.  Deck work was completed by NAB 7/17/15. Note completion from start took twice as long from start date, and 4 times as long from the start of the process.
    9. We contacted NAB about issues with decking boards cracking and splitting on 8/2/15 only 2 weeks after completed installation. We were informed in follow-up correspondence from NAB that this checking and not splitting however the boards are split all the way through which does not indicate "checking".
    10. 9/22/15 decking cracks and splits have increased and NAB has yet to resolve the issue and instead stating they are talking with their distributor and their distributor's distributor. We have not received any resolution from 8/2/15 to present 52 days and only being told the same information.  This has been one of the most frustrating experiences we have ever encountered.
I would advise anyone considering this company to verify that retainage is included in the contract to verify provided materials will not fail, and make sure that any contract you sign with them specifically states that you as owner have the right to approve / disapprove of any deviation that they want to make before they deviate from the design and that your local housing inspector or inspector of your choosing must approve the finished product before final payment is provided.

  • Foley Furnace installed the original Carrier air conditioning system and has provided service as needed over the past ten years.  In  this case, mice had destroyed the insulation blanket over the last couple winters.  Foley Furnace ordered the part in advance and provided the install and service as soon as temperatures permitted proper testing.  I am complete;y satisfied with the air conditioning system, installation and service and would recommend their services.
