    Village Building & Restoration, LLC
Went very smoothly despite small delays in delivery and some minor tile issues. Subcontractors coordinated well. The only thing I would do differently is use a decorator to help pull some of the loose ends together. Although it looks great, in retrospect I probably would have made some slightly different material choices.

It went very well. I was concerned about how anyone would remove the concrete without damaging my foundation, but they did it without any problems. All the concrete was removed, they even kept their machinery off of my french drain so as not to damage it. I would use them again.

    Budget Dry Waterproofing Inc
A rep from Budget came in to look at my issue and discuss options.  A couple weeks later a technician came to fill/repair the cracks.  He thoroughly explained what he was going to do and how the product would work.  He even let me watch and ask questions as her worked on my cracks.  They also recommended a dehumidifier for my basement due to the moisture readings.  I currently had a small dehumidified, which I had purchased at the hardware store, that was not sufficient for the space.  After a several months my basement water and moisture free.  I am a pleased customer.

    PerfectView Remodeling LLC
I am an extremely thorough individual, and planned this project down to the smallest detail.  So much in fact that I created and provided computer generated schematics with measurements, locations of lighting, outlets, receptacles, etc.  I provided my projects specifications and requirements (exact same) to a total of 8 different Contractors.  Each of the contractors I submitted a RFP to (Request For Proposal), came to the house to do an in-person assessment before providing us with their quote.  PerfectView sent an individual who was very nice and seemed knowledgeable, and whom I was told would be the assigned ?Project Manager? for the duration of our job.  While he was on site, we walked through the basement, and I described in detail what we were looking to have done.  This individual seemed to be taking notes, and acknowledged he understood the scope of the project.  About 1 week later, after receiving all of the competing bids (PerfectView being the least expensive), I contacted our ?Project Manager? to, once again, confirm the details of what we were looking for.  After multiple communications back and forth with this person, we were provided with a Final Quote from them, and decided to hire PerfectView for the job.
When it came time to physically sign the contract, I met with the ?Project Manager? to review the contract and provide a deposit.  During our meeting, I continued to inquire about why all of the specific details of what we had discussed (both verbally and via email) had not been incorporated into the contract, and was told that those details ?were insignificant to the scope of the overall project, that we could makes those decisions/changes as they came up, and that they would not affect the pricing of the project.?  Believing him, and relying on his ?expertise,? we proceeded through the signing of the contract.  Everything up to this point had gone extremely smooth.  It wasn't until the work was supposed to begin that we started running into issues.  After my deposit had been cashed, and as the specified ?Project Start Date? was approaching, I reached out to the Project Manager, who informed me that he was no longer employed with PerfectView.  I immediately contacted Lou Cook, and he ensured me that this would be a non-issue.
Long story short; work began almost 1.5 weeks late, took more than 1 month and 1 week longer to complete than was contractually agreed upon (I assume responsibility for 5 days due to a flooring contractor I hired independently, who ran into some installation issues), 4 out of the 5 sub-contractors/employees PerfectView had on this project all either quit, or were fired before the completion of work, resulting in non-satisfactory work being done, having other people attempting to ?repair? or finish others? incomplete work, me being asked to pay more than our agreed upon costs, and me spending 40+ hours of my own time at nights re-patching, re-skim coating, re-sanding and re-priming shotty drywall work, re-painting an amateur painter?s work, and putting the finishing touches on what we paid to be a ?start-to-finish? project.  Fortunately, I am somewhat handy, and can do this work myself.
From what I can deduce, these issues were the result of not dealing directly with Lou from the onset of the project, getting every minute detail into the contract (although fortunately I do have email communications) and receiving a low-ball quote from a ?Project Manager? trying to win business with no regard for the ROI of the company they were representing.  It wasn?t until Lou got directly involved that he realized the scope of the project had been ?miscommunicated? to him, and in turn, the sub-contractors he hired for the job.  Bottom-line, they were trying to remain profitable on this project by cutting corners where they could, rather than doing the right thing, and paying the professionals to do 100% of the job they were hired to do.  It is unfortunate because had Lou handled this appropriately, and been directly involved from start-to-finish, I am confident that the project would have turned out differently, and I would have given them a phenomenal review and offered many referrals (not to mention hire them again for other projects we have in the near future.)

    Neighborhood Services LLC
We were very happy with Matt's work. It was conducted quickly and professionally. He has the right equipment for the job of removing a pool. He is an artist with stonework. He provided us with a beautiful new front walkway, which is an asset to our house. He cleaned up his work, and repaired our lawn with fill, grass seed, and straw. We were very happy with his work in all respects.

    Charles Zuccaro Waterproofing & Masonry
Excellent craftsman. One of the main benefits of Charles is he himself does all the work and he is a master of all things involving masonary. He priced all the work listed above up front and stuck to the quote except where we both agreed extra work was needed and unforseen.
For the wet basment he jackhammered out the entire inner perimeter, excavated it down below the foundation by hand, laid the drain, crush stone, and then resurfaced. We found a great opportunity to place a gravity drain system due to the terrain of the lot which negated the need for a mechanical sump pump which was great.
The masonary work and replacment of the hearth is beautiful and level. The chimney also looks great and is water tight. The last project was replacing an old bulkhead door that was set into decaying masonary blocks. Rather than just spakle and patch, he excavated around the foundation, really repaired all masonary, set the new door on, then plastered over all the outside seems. I and none of the other contractors that have been working at my house have every seen such a great repair of a common nusance..the bulkhead door. This was masterful, and it looks great and will surely outlast me.
As for work ethic, it is the best. He gives realsitic time frames, shows up very early and works very hard. He does not bump job to job and leave you hanging. This kind of work costs a lot from anybody in the field, but with Charles Zuccaro you get
exceptional quality and someone who is very multifaceted with the basement/masonary projects.
    Would recommend without hesitation.

    Schroeder Builders LLC
We have used Tom Schroeder's company, Schroeder Builders, LLC of Burlington, CT on several projects over the last 5 to 6 years with respect to our historic home.
He has done custom cabinetry for us in an upstairs hallway and laundry area and beautiful wordwork and design in our living room which respect the integrity of the era of our home.
He and his team are currently working on an addition to our home which we will use as a great room/sun room. He has completed the exterior and is now working on the interior. We are very pleased with the the construction of the addition and are impressed with the numerous contacts that Tom has within the industry to help get us the best materials and ancillary services. It is apparent that he is well respected among his collegues. Tom is actively engaged in his projects and really listens to us. He keeps an inventory of items he has encountered and projects he has done  - for example, he had seen an antique window in Maine which he thought would be perfect for our addition - not only did he go get  it but meticulously restored it.

    Budget Dry Waterproofing Inc
We had been trying to determine what to do about these hairline cracks before they became a more serious basement problem.  Carl & Mike came out to give us the background on the Budget Dry Waterproofing system and how it would resolve our concerns.  The quote was reasonable, not the cheapest - but with the higher Angie's List ratings & Angie's discount, we felt much more comfortable going with BDW.   The job was scheduled very quickly and only took 1 1/2 days as estimated.  The work crew that carried out the installation were very professional, kept us up to date throughout the process and cleaned up nicely. Considering all the apprehension over having our basement floor jackhammered and he walls drilled through; we are extremely pleased with the quality of the work performed inside and outside the house.

    Violette Silvester And Sons Inc
They did a great job of cleaning up, including putting down new top soil and grass seed over areas where their equipment killed the grass. We were very impressed with their work, and especially impressed with the care they took to repair the lawn.
