    Larry Torti Paving

I inquired to Mr Torti if the loose stone would hold up to snow plowing, which he assured me it would. The first winter of snow the stone was plowed right off the substrate from snow plowing. I called Mr Torti in the Spring to advise him the stone mostly did not hold up to snow plowing. His response was that the snow plows aren't supposed to scrape the ground and thus move the top stones off the driveway. Really?
However, being the affable and gregarious gentleman he is, he instructed his crew to return, at no cost to me, and reapply that much stone that was lost due to the stormy winter. All well and good.
The winter of 2013 saw even more snow. I plowed the driveway myself. We lost stone, but not as much as I did the previous winter with the commercial plow, as I was more careful when plowing. We still lost about 25% of the stone on the drive. This also precipitates the stone to be rearranged during heavy rainstorms since it has already been disturbed from plowing. So the final result is we have lost another 25% of the top stones that are supposed to hold up to plowing yearly.
I called Larry's wife Karen, early in June and she said they would come out once again. To date, here at the end of July, they are a no show. I do have confidence they will return again.
I am not writing Mr Torti is unresponsive because he has been responsive in the past. What I am writing here is to say, after two years of snow plowing, and upon reapplication ofthe top stones, the Mcadam driveway does not seem to hold up well under winter conditions when applyling snow plows to the surface. God only knows what would happen if one used a snow blower on the surface. These pebbles would likely fly everywhere, perhaps causing damage to whatever is in their path.
Larry and Karen Torti are respectable and good people.

I just don't think that the top surface of small stones will ever hold up to the snow plows we must use in New England to remove the snow we receive on a yearly basis. I am still waiting for his crew to come out and restore the driveway surface. Hopefully , they will respond as they have done in the past.

    Larry Torti Paving
Five Star Rating If a Mcadam driveway is what you really want, go with Torti and you won't be disappointed..
Do listen to Karen upon the initial visit from her. SHe knnows her stuff from years of experience Trust her.Do get her estimate in writing on her business card.Do show her every aspect of what you expect for the job results.Do look for Larry and his entertaining and gregarious personality.Do expect fast, professional and courteous service from start to finish.Do expect old fashioned customer service and customer satisfaction instead of excuses, lies and "reasons" for not performing the work in an expert and expeditious manner.
Don't look for reams of legal contracts.Don't look for Union workers who take a break evry 2 hrs for 15 minutes of stretch time.Don't look for a crew that begins one day and then doesn't show up for another week.Don't look job screw ups and then shifing the blame on the buyer, for any reason at all.Don't look for workers who boondoggle, leaning on shovels and rakes, talking on cell phones and not working.Don't look for shoody work
