Door Installation reviews in Brookfield

Outstanding. Everyone was friendly and reliable. Cleaned up daily. Picked up materials or met deliveries to make sure thing went smoothly. I added to project in process. He gave frank advice about cost vs outcome value. They were great with my pet. They are going to be coming back to do the entry way soon.

The job was a big one and was handled with complete professionalism.

The job started Dec 2014 and that winter it snowed everyday and was very cold out

The workers came in the am and worked HARD all day. They would ask what time to come on Sat and Sun

which I thought was considerate for my family since it was our weekend

Any questions I had the provider answered. Either over the phone or he came to my house

I would recommend the provider for any job you need done.  And I will be using them again

My house looks great and we love it!

We live in an older condo on Brookfield, CT and the association wanted us (along with other owners in the unit) to replace the rear slider in our unit because of wood rot. They had two authorized contractors for this work, Castle, The Window People being one of them. We had a Castle sales guy out to the house and he was very nice and the information he presented convinced us to go with them to replace the slider and the full length window panel next to it. The quote was pricey at $6500, but it's a large slider and we thought it would be worth it. We were INCREDIBLY WRONG!
They wanted to schedule the work for New Year's day, which I thought wasn't a good idea because of the cold, and using caulk in that kind of temperature. They assured me it would be no problem. When the day of the installation came it was snowing pretty heavily, and again I questioned doing this work under those conditions. The lead guy assured me they used a "special" caulk that would work fine. They removed the existing slider and window and installed the new one in one day, however, it was installed crooked, had gaps in the caulking and didn't lock well, so we were dissatisfied. This is where the fun began. We called repeatedly to get this issue address and they sent out people one after another who essentially "hacked" the window (cutting the lock opening bigger, moving the leveling blocks up and down, etc.) and then tried to convince me that it was fixed. We got through to a server manager, and then the service manager's boss, both of whom listened to us intently, assured us they would personally address the issue. Apparently addressing the issue consisted of sending the initial installer who screwed things up back to our house, with NO information about the conversations we had had with the service managers. He would then mess around with the leveling blocks and try to convince me it was fine, to which I told him it was not and we'd have to do something else.
Finally, after another call to customer service a new installer came out, took one look at the installation, and told us it was all wrong. He put ONE SCREW into the frame that had been missed and this addressed the crooked frame issue. He then took off all the finishing bezels because they were to small and replaced them with bigger ones, which addressed the gaps and leaks in the caulking. This one guy fixes all the problems we'd been talking to customer service about in an hour. This was great, and we were happy to have the work done, but it had taken SIX MONTHS of persistent calling, getting lied to trying to get us to accept it as it was, and repeated disappointment for this to happen.
I can't say strongly enough, DO NOT purchase anything (product or work) from Castle, The Window People.

My wife and I recently purchased a new home that needed new windows.  We were replacing older single pane wooden windows that had aluminum storm windows.  They were inefficient, bad looking, and we couldn't open half of them.  Met with several vendors and chose Highland Window because of price and quality of windows/doors they would be installing.  There were cheaper quotes out there, but for lower quality windows.
We worked with Marc, the owner, through the whole process leading up to the install.  The windows were made specifically for our house, so we had to wait roughly 4 weeks from confirming the order to the actual install. The actual install took two days.  The crew was friendly and did a great job cleaning up.
In the end, we were very happy with the work.  The house looks SO much better, inside and out.

Excellent job.  Brian Urzo is very meticulous.  He is a pleasure to deal with and very professional.  He calls the day before to re-confirm and he shows up on time.  How novel is that?

The old door was very rusted and had come away from the house, so there were large gaps for water and critters to enter.  They removed the old door and installed the new one including all the trim to seal it up.  We went with the unfinished door and had to paint it, which wasn't a big deal and we saved nearly a grand.  The new door looks great, works perfectly and is completely sealed.

Steve ordered the doors.  We paid up front, as we wanted the deduction in 2013.  Now, that IS trust.  The windows went in perfectly
and the guys are a joy to have around.  When they leave, I miss them!  Thank you Steve and Eric.

An estimate for a bedroom closet addition was performed and a price agreed upon..The job began in late April to which approximately one half to three quarter's was completed (approx. 3 days)..Because of the need to order specific closet doors, which had not yet been received, we waited longer than originally anticipated..  When the doors were finally in hand, Mr. Handyman promptly set a completion date of May 18 and the balance of the job was finished.. The tech, Mike, also adjusted some sticking exterior doors and a window crank that needed replacement, while paint on the main project was drying.. We could not have asked for a better gentleman and contractor to work with..We will absolutely use Mr. Handyman again..thanks to Skip the owner for stopping by and introducing himself and for Mike's expertise..  Good luck to Mr. Handyman for many years of service!
