Just bought a house and wanted to get the sump pump inspected. The guy showed up, very respectful, saw the pump, and told me that all he can do is normal "outside" inspection and make sure it works, because it was an old pump.
Very happy with the guy and the company.

I e-mailed Bill on a Thurs night and received an immediate response that he would call me the next day as I told him I had an urgent situation with a leaking basement. He called the next day as promised and scheduled to come over that same day. Bill arrived early and immediately was able to assess the situation. We had running water coming throughout the floor one one side of the basement. We did have a sump pump and it was working, but yet we had standing wanter on the floor. Bill guessed that the piping system for the perimeter drain was plugged with algae and the water pressure was building under the floor causing it to leak.  He came up with two plans to correct this but it really needed to be determined if we had pipes in our drainage system directing the flow of water to the sump or just stone. The only way to know for sure was to break through the floor. Bill said why not just bust a small hole to see and then we could know exactly what should be done. So we got a hammer and in 5 mins broke through the floor and exposed some clay pipe. We broke the pipe and found that significant amounts of alga were blocking flow.
Billl recommend that we try to blow out the lines which would require break 4 more holes to expose the pipe and using a hose and special water jet device blow the algae through the system. I asked how soon he could do it and he said Sat. which was the next day. As promised his crew showed at at 8:00am on and within 2.5 hrs the job was complete. The basement is now dry and the water is flowing throughout the drainage system to the sump as it should.
We will monitor there system for two weeks and then Bills company will come back and cap the holes and put permanent clean outs in there so we can treat the system with chlorine to kill the algae on a regular basis.
Bill Silvester was very knowledgeable, did what he said he was going to do when he said he was gong to do it. I even got a follow up call asking me if I was satisfied with the work. Very professional.

We had had problems for years with persistent water in basement despite existing sump pump. Their rep came out quickly, explained what needed to be done, and we agreed on a fair price. They came in and discovered that problem was worse than they usually deal with (had to dig deeper), which meant an extra day's work. They put in drainage system around entire interior perimeter, added new well for existing sump pump, and installed new sump pump with battery back-up. Initially there were some issues with the drainage area not being far enough away from the house, but they came back and fixed that. We have not had a drop since -- can finally use the basement!!

    Dry-X Waterproofing
We met twice with Dry-X Waterproofing.  At first, we were just going to put in sump pumps.  We later decided to go with a complete perimeter drainage system along the interior basement wall.  Dry-X Waterproofing provided a very descriptive computer visual presentation that described the entire process involved in installing such a system.  It was an impressive, as well as informative, presentation with a no high-pressure sales approach.  We were most fortunate to have selected Dry-X Waterproofing for our project. In addition to being a great company to work with from the very start, they were also the most reasonably priced company among others we had contacted.

On the first day of the job, the crew arrived when expected with a thorough understanding of the project details.  The crew stared immediately upon arrival.  They were professional, friendly, polite and hard-working.  Their friendliness was quite a nice experience after having dealt with contractors on other projects who had intolerable personalities.  The crew appropriately assessed every portion of the project, which was professionally orchestrated from start to finish.  The finished project reflected, in our opinion, the best system design to accommodate our need.  They also took into consideration the overall visual appeal of the project by systematically planning every detail to make the finished job look neat and orderly, especially when considering the placement of cleanouts, pumps and piping.  One sump pump installation was to replace an inadequate existing one that we had for over twenty years.  It was expected that they would put the new pump in the same location, which would have been an easier installation.  Instead, it was installed in a new location in close proximity to where the old pump had been.  Relocating the pump installation, however, demonstrated sound thinking of the their part because the new location opened more usable wall space for us.  Any questions we had during the installation were quickly answered with thorough explanations.  It did not take long for us the realize that we had hired a very competent crew.  The finished project exceeded our expectations.

He was very very prompt, responsive, and gave me a good estimate. He told me some things were not in my best interest to do. He said if I do things, I should do them in small steps to save money. He told me I could clean the gutters out to fix the problem or pay him $2000, and I really appreciated his honesty.
