  • Very well for the most part! Only problem with AC split system was with an "elbow" joint that was the wrong size and did not cover wiring upon installation. When I called post-job and asked that the elbow be replaced immediately, the company foreman was out at my home the next morning; he did have the "elbow" replaced with a good-fitting one, and he made it a point to note that customer satisfaction is his top priority. The subcontractors who put in the new electrical panel also were very good, though after leaving they forgot to take some tools (retrieved later), and they forgot to turn back on automatic condenser pump attached to the furnace, which I noticed after some minor leakage had occurred; I fixed that readily by turning back on the pump. However, these were minor issues, and I was VERY SATISFIED with the work overall, and with the courtesy and professionalism of Tyler's crew, and especially with their COMMITMENT TO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. I especially was touched by their concern for the welfare of my family to get these installations complete in a timely manner, so my family members could use the lower level as a guest room, while in town visiting another family member who was severely ill in the hospital. Also, every time I call Tyler as regards their very helpful YEARLY MAINTENANCE contract, I am completely satisfied with their inspection and correction to any Heating/AC issues (especially thanks to Chris, a great workman and courteous professional!)   • MATT AND HIS CREW WERE TOP NOTCH! FROM THEIR FOLLOW-UP, TO THEIR COMMUNICATION, AND EASE OF UNDERSTANDING WHAT YOU ARE RECEIVING (IN TERMS OF A PRODUCT LIST & SERVICES) I CONTACTED AT LEAST 10 COMPANIES FROM ANGIE'S LIST AND HOME ADVISER AND HILLCREST WAS THE BEST IN ALL PHASES OF CONTRACTING AND INSTALLATION - I WILL BE HAVING THEM DO ANOTHER JOB ON A SECOND HOUSE I OWN!!!!

  • This was either an Intentional or Unintentional BAIT & SWITCH! The price quoted was $175, but for another $25 I could sign up for an annual Maintenance Agreement. So, I chose the annual plan. After the Service Man finished, he said he did one of my two units, which was basically changing out the filter AND that to do the second unit would be double the charge! In the conversation with the original person I spoke with, we talked about 'system' maintenance; I did not expect double the charges. The Service man said if I wanted the 2nd unit serviced I needed to give him my credit card to be changed - - no choice for me at this point! I call the original person I spoke with, who sold me the Agreement and have yet to hear back from them. My bill for 2 hours was almost $600, with no freon added. The should have informed me that the agreement covered just one unit upfront! In addition, what I ended up purchasing for the added $25 was the right to receive a 10% on future parts. What a scam...

  • VERY VERY BAD!!!!!!They came out for a HVAC issue and smoke damaged my home. To add insult one of their owner,s Rick T misrepresented himself to me. Now my home insurance and lawyers are involved with the mess they created for me. Living out in a hotel for the next 2 months due to their negligence. Not sure how they received 51 positive reviews? They totally walked out once they did the damage and told me to get in touch with my insurance. And the add insult Rick gave me a bill for $982.00 for trouble shooting a problem he created. My advise based on his misrepresentation, the neg

  • They came on time when they were doing their work. They are pretty good but I would be asking a lot of questions first. There were things that they didn't say but they did come up when they were here. They weren't to happy about having to do more then what they came for.

  • I have a service contract. They do good work. For responsiveness, I had to call them a couple of times but it wasn't enough to give them a bad mark for it. In the past, they installed my furnace and did some other work for me.

  • Showed up on time, finished on time and we had wonderful heat and hot water 20 mins later. I also called with a question a year or so later and the young lady at Tyler went out of her way to be helpful. The whole crew was friendly and professional. Rates were reasonable. You don't often get great service like this anymore and it's worth letting everyone know.

  • Every time I interact with Modern it is a pleasant and professional experience, from having a technician in our home to scheduling appointments. Andrew is typically who comes out to do our service calls and he is amazing. He's super friendly, punctual and neat. He always takes the time to explain to us what is going on and gives us a heads up about work that might need to be done in the future.

  • it did not, as of july 6, 2017 no one has contacted me to do what I paid for. I will never use angies list again, and will report experience to bbb, ct state, and yelp also, will contact my payor and let them know to refund my money. This Angies list appears to make there money this way and getting you to join and pay fees. Stay away people, My experience

  • Very professional Company. From Tom the salesman, Vincent the technician, to the young women that answers the phone when you call. On June 7th Tyler installed my new furnace and central AC and almost a month later my wife and myself are very happy and not one single problem to report. Tom the salesman was great. He explained everything to me, gave me a fair quote and made me feel comfortable and was not pushy. Vincent the technician, arrived early and by 4pm he was done. I had two chances to test Tyler's customer service and both times they went above and beyond to make sure I was completely satisfied. The first time -- after I signed the contract I wanted a more up to date thermostat than the one included in the package and Tyler made the change without increasing the price. The second time -- I was not satisfy with the way the thermostat cable was hanging and Tyler sent an electrician to put the cable any way I wanted it. Needless to say that my wife and myself are completely satisfied with the job that Tyler did for us.
