Business Description: The Murphy name has been connected with the moving and storage industry for over 100 years and our company is now being proudly run by the fourth generation. Years of pride in workmanship and experience have been passed from generation to generation. The first truck to move a family coast to coast from New York to California was a member of the Murphy family. A lot has changed since the first generation started the business with a horse and cart and the family has seen many changes and kept up with the technology that comes along with each new generation. Our number one goal is complete customer satisfaction. The cornerstones of our business – integrity, professionalism and hard work – help us achieve this goal for each and every customer. Additionally, our years of experience in the moving and storage business have given us a keen understanding of what makes for a successful move, and we put this knowledge to use from the beginning of a job to its completion. Customer service is our #1 concern from your initial contact with our office staff throughout the moving process; packing, loading and delivery of your goods at your new home. Our employees receive rave reviews from all our customers. They are described as polite, hard-working, responsible, respectful, and a “real pleasure”. We are proud to have these men and women as part of our company. So whether you need a dining room set moved into the garage while the floors are being refinished, or whether you are moving cross-country, give John C. Murphy Moving & Storage a call. AThe pads came out beautifully and fit perfectly. My table is an unusual size and goes from round to oval when expanded. The pads look great and if I wanted I could even leave them on all the time. They fit together easily and they're easy to put on and remove- Mary O.

AI cannot say enough good things about the owner of Amadeus Piano/Stamford, Yury Feygin, and his associates. The piano he provided was excellent and the tuning of the instrument under some very trying circumstances was just outstanding. More, however, is Yury's flexibility and professionalism and even kindness. To make a long and awful story short, at the last minute, the person in charge of the venue refused to allow the piano to stay in place after the dress rehearsal, despite agreements in emails. Yury simply said that he'd do whatever I wanted. We discussed our options. The upshot was that he took the piano back with him, returned the day of the performance, set it up, tuned it beautifully in a very tight time frame and enabled an absolutely wonderful concert to proceed. I am forever indebted to Yury and his assistants, their commitment, and the quality of their work. If you need to rent a piano, Amadeus Piano in Stamford is your one and only place to consider!- Beth P.

AJim arrived exactly on time. He tuned the piano and even fixed a part that had become loose so that we could use the pedals (no charge). He was very knowledgeable and professional. We would definitely hire him again.- Mary O.

AAndrew was pleasant and professional in every way. He carefully evaluated our situation, explained exactly what he planned to do, the materials he planned to use and how long the job would take, and left the impression that he really knows, and enjoys, his craft. He emailed an estimate to us within a day or so, followed up with further information and offered to refinish a door front as a sample. He also provided the email address of a customer whose cherry cabinets he had refinished. Ultimately, we decided to do the work ourselves, but I'm quite confident he would have done a very nice job. I don't know if his estimate is on par with other refinishers since his was the only one we solicited.- Beth B.

AI purchased an over-the-range microwave from Mudricks on Saturday afternoon and it was installed Tuesday morning. Old one was taken away. Price was comparable to you-know-who big box store and much faster on the install. Thanks, Guys. Pleasure doing business with you.

AThis is the 2nd time I have used Prince to reupholster my furniture. He redid my couch (same one he did 20 years ago!) with fabric I provided. I had detailed instructions I gave his son as I mixed fabrics to achieve a certain look. He is now working on my outdoor wicker furniture and remaking all cushions and pillows for that. Great service!

DWe had a problem with the refrigerator. They were very unresponsive and I had to repeatedly call until they would respond. Our refrigerator is still not set up correctly. They have been very difficult to work with. I would not use them again or recommend their services to anyone.- Marcia E.

AThey're fast, efficient, and very neat. They were very prompt and delivered on time. They came when they were supposed to and picked it up when they were supposed to and then they delivered even faster than I thought.- Lorraine O.

FWhile purchasing the washer and dryer the salesman informed us that the extended warranty would cover everything that wasnt caused by us. He also agreed to throw in a set of metal braided hoses for us which we never recieved and after several calls gave up on. A couple of months ago, the dryer door wouldn't close, but we realized that if you lift up on it it closes. Since we were still able to do laundry I didn't call right away. Yesterday when washing a pillow the washer started smoking and we immediately stopped it and called Aitoro. There are burn marks on the pillow (which is machine washable) The rather unfriendly service rep said I had to call the extended warranty place and gave me the number. I called them and they informed me that unless the problem was caused by an electrical problem it wouldn't be covered and I would have to pay for the service call. They said the hinge on the washer would not be fixed because it's mechanical. So an integral part of the dryer which broke for no reason will not be fixed even after paying for the extended service plan. I called Aitoro and asked if they would fix the hinge but said that since the washer was 1 year old last week it's past the warranty and they won't do anything. The worse part is Dealing with the unfriendly and Unhelpfull staff at aitoro, where it seems that once they have your money, they dont care anymore. We will see what happens on this service call, but I don't have high hopes. I'm sure they will try to make me pay. I would recommend that no one ever shop at this store and NEVER get the extended warranty, As it doesn't even cover everything.- Steve C.

AI was very pleased with his services. He was wonderful. I really can't comment on the price because I do not know what a good price is and what isn't a good price. I haven't checked anywhere else with regard to price and so I do not know. I do know that he did an excellent job and I felt like he was really a craftsman because he really went above and beyond of what I had asked him to do. He did what I had asked him to do and in fact he felt he needed to do more to look better, and he did. He was wonderful. He had to wait here for me and I was late. He chit chatted with my husband. He was very agreeable and very pleasant. He went again above and beyond. I was very pleased with his work. I would honestly highly recommend him and I would have him back again. I am enjoying the table after he's repaired it. His quality of work was excellent. I will use his services again in the future.- Janet C.
