    Arnold Company
It went extremely well. We dealt with the owner all the time from the quote to the end of the job. The workers were very courteous, worked hard and got the job done on time. They cleaned up nicely after the job was done.

They had to clean the gutters in 2 parts as some of the gutters had ice in them.  They were very quick and efficient both times they came and gave me a heads-up by telephone before they arrived just to make sure I was home.  They cleaned up all the debris afterwards.  Very happy with their service and would definitely use them again.

During the quote process, they were either the lowest cost (by far), or did the most work for the same cost.  When I called to schedule the work, they came out the next business day.  They said they would be at the house between 9 and 10, and arrived at 8:50.  They had finished the installation and completely cleaned the yard in 90 minutes.  While performing work, they realized that the original quoted work wouldn't provide the best solution, so Nick upgraded the downspout size at no additional cost.  After a month, with a few big rain storms, there have been no issues.

He did not give me  a complete inspection report that was promised by offerring.  I did not watch him, so I do not know if he did a gutter cleanout either.  He was only trying to sell other services.  I am surprised that Angie's List allows this type of work!!

I was contacted one day by a very professional salesman and, because of his examples of problems with other forms of gutter protection, decided to go ahead with the Nescor brand (after checking them out on the Internet). The workers showed up on time the next afternoon and in short order had the gutter protection installed. Though it is too early to assess the efficacy (we haven't yet gone through a fall season), I am confident this product will work as advertized.

Unfortunately, they couldn't remove the gutter guards which prevented them from doing any of the work.  The owner called to inform me of this and offered to apply the money I paid for the Big Deal toward the installation of new gutters.  However, I chose not to participate in this offer.

    Gutt R Done
We purchased the special offer through Angie's list, plus an additional 59 feet of gutter covering and a new drainspout.  We were contacted via e-mail as promised, and then with a follow-up phone call.  Gutt R Done provided us, via e-mail from their insurance carrier, a personalized proof of insurance, as we had requested.  Gutt R Done arrived as scheduled and proceeded efficiently to clean the gutters and place the gutter guards.  They also checked other areas that had previously had gutter guards placed on them, and pleasantly showed us the product they were using.  It was a very good experience.

We found Precision Energy Systems through Angie's List.  Jeremy, the business owner, came out to our house to show us videos of some of his prior projects.  He was very proud of the craftsmanship that he and his crew showed in completing these projects.  He gave us literature for the product that he uses and explained the advantages of the insulated siding.  He explained that this siding was more expensive than what many of his competitors offer because they typically offer hollow backed siding.  He told us how he and his crew would wrap the exterior windows so that they would look like picture frames.  He explained some of the major differences between his company and some of his local competitors when it comes to product quality and the quality of the installation.  He explained where we would see seams in the siding and where there wouldn't be seams. He gave us the addresses of 3 recently completed projects.  We also explored the possibility of having him install vinyl shakes that look like cedar, but that was far too expensive for our budget.

We contacted 2 other companies for quotes.  One company did not respond but one did.  The other company quoted $26,500 to remove the old cedar shakes, use hollow backed double 6" siding but putting foam insulation on the house first, and all of the repair items found during the removal of the old cedar shakes would cost extra.  Their window wrapping sample was also very simple and boxy.

We researched the products offered by both companies on Consumer Reports and we found that the Prodigy product offered by Precision Energy does cost twice as much as the product offered by his competitor.  We went to the 3 houses that Jeremy recently completed and found that the quality of the jobs looked outstanding.  We met with Jeremy to get his final quote and an estimated start date.  We received his quote, bargained a bit and settled on the final price of $31,000.  He said he could start in a week because he was wrapping up another job.  3 days later we paid him 1/2 of the total cost up front.  We agreed to take care of getting the dumpster in place for the old shakes and getting the permit from the town of Avon which saved us a little money.

The new siding arrived 2 days before the planned start date and the dumpster came on the same day.  Jeremy and his crew were here the day that he promised and started ripping the old shakes off of the house.  They completed this in 3 days and wrapped the house with Tyvek as they ripped off the old shakes.  It took them longer than planned because many of the old shakes were rotted and they broke into little pieces when they were being removed.  (Jeremy's crew cleaned up all of this debris out of our shrubbery each day except for a few small pieces.)  They then removed the old gutters.  This is when they found that the prior gutters had been installed improperly by the prior owner.  The prior owner had metal extensions installed every foot or so along the gutter so that they would hang in the proper place at the base of the shingles on the garage.  Jeremy asked if it was ok for his crew to build out this area around the perimeter of the garage roof to allow for proper gutter installation at the end of the project.  We gave him the green light on this, which cost us an additional 6  hours of labor for 2 men.  At about this time we paid Jeremy the next 25% of the cost of the job.

Next the crew went through and installed gorgeous aluminum wraps around each of the windows on the house.  Each window looks like it has a picture frame around it.  We had the windows replaced 2 years prior, but if we hadn't done that we would have had Jeremy's crew install new windows as well!.

They started installing the new siding and fascia on our attached garage next.  Jeremy found that an old door that we never used on the upper level of the garage had a lot of rot around it, so we asked him to remove the door and fill in the area.  He went to Home Depot to get the plywood and 2x4s to fill this in.  This didn't slow down the crew at all.  In 2 days they completed the garage.  Jeremy personally installed a replacement door on the rear of the garage.

The crew next moved on to the rear of the house and went very quickly installing the fascia, siding, and vent/faucet covers there.  They then moved to the side of house and this phase of the project went very quickly.

They then moved to the front of the house.  This is when Jeremy contacted us about how he had some ideas on improving the look of our front door.  He showed us a brochure of decorative vinyl door surrounds that he had used previously and pointed out the prices of each.  He also showed us a brochure for a replacement front storm door.  After we selected these items, he was able to work with his supplier to get them here in 2 days so that his crew wouldn't be slowed down as they completed the front of the house.  The door surround and storm door arrived on time along with 3 additional squares of siding that was needed to finish the front of the house.  (We were not charged for the 3 additional squares of siding by Jeremy.)

Jeremy came out with one of his crew to put the finishing touches on the front door and install a storm door on the rear garage door.  His subcontractor came the next day and installed all of the new gutters.  The entire job was completed in 17 days and came out looking wonderful.  They did a great job a planning out how the siding was hung to minimize the number of visible seams.

Jeremy stopped by and brought receipts for the front storm door and door surround that were not part of his original estimate.  We paid him for these items plus the additional labor for the garage/gutter build out and the installation of the front door surround and storm door.  We also paid the final 25% for the job.

Our experience with Precision Energy was outstanding.    Jeremy was very pleasant to deal with and his crew are real craftsmen.  Their ability to complete the job when promised, even with some of the issues that came up, was also part of our excellent experience.  We recommend them to anyone who has a large exterior project like ours.

We got estimates from three and they were fine, but we had to go with the one that was the cheapest. One price was $ 8000 and another price was $ 4000 for gutters. Then he said you know they come in one piece, so the one that we went with was for  $ 2600 so I hope and pray that their work is good.

Mike Tullo and the folks at Everlast did a fantastic job, even going so far as to start the jon early (after contacting us of course) and finishing promptly. The quality and care were top notch and all the workers seemed to be true pros. The house looks much better, already through two hard rains the garage has stayed dry (a problem before) and we couldn't be happier with the work done. We got five bids on our job, and not only was Mike's among the lowest, it was the most thorough and he understood our needs and wants and came up with suggestions to get results we are pleased with.
