  • They were punctual, fast and careful. They demonstrated that they had quality experience as they moved and cared for my furniture. Nothing was broken. They placed everything as I asked and moved when I realized it did not work. I appreciate their work ethic and ability.

  • If I could give negative five stars, I would. I hired the company because I respect that they supposedly hire veterans, but this was not the case for my move at least. I paid $400 for a small one bedroom move of fifteen miles, where I had everything packed and boxes stacked together. They were over an hour late, even though I was the first move of the day, and their response was that "they just got a late start on the day." It was two kids, probably smaller than me (and I'm a 5'6, 115 lbs female). My boyfriend was just supposed to oversee the move, but he ended up doing the entire move. The kids had no idea what they were doing and could barely lift a box. I showed up four hours in to the move and my boyfriend was the one lifting the heavy boxes, while one kid pushed a box on a dolly and the other walked behind him. I started carrying boxes in my work clothes and moved faster carrying heavier boxes than either of the kids. I requested to speak to the owner or a manager, but still haven't heard back from anyone. After having unpacked now, some of my stuff is broken as well. It was God awful, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

  • On the day of our move (Monday, April 30) the movers were almost two hours late. We had rearranged our children’s childcare schedules because we were told that the movers were set to arrive between 8 and 8:30am. They did not arrive until around 10am. When they were moving our furniture they complained about the weight of the couch and we saw them scratch it when they moved it outside. My husband was making arrangements to meet them in Colorado. We were told by the movers that “We’ll probably be there Tuesday (May 1st) night but we’ll definitely be ready to unload by Wednesday morning”. This is a clear violation of labor laws because the movers packed our items in the truck from 10am to 6/7pm and then said that they were going to drive all night from Pacific Grove, California to Westminster, Colorado. This is a 20 hour drive in a car, not to mention two moving trucks. My husband flew out to Colorado on Tuesday morning to make sure to meet the movers and he received very infrequent updates and was left wondering where our belongings were. The movers texted my husband on Wednesday (May 2nd) stating that they were running late but did not give an estimated time of arrival. Several hours went by before any further communication was given. On Wednesday afternoon the movers called my husband and said there was a problem with one of the trucks and that they would be arriving on Thursday morning. They continued to have poor communication and did not arrive at our house until 8:30pm on Thursday (May 3rd ) night. When they arrived we found that there were only two movers, even though there were 4 movers when our 4 bedroom house was packed in California. The movers needed my husband’s help to move the boxes and furniture and did not finish moving items into the home until 3am. Also, several rooms upstairs had stains on the carpet from the movers' shoes even though my husband requested that they remove their shoes on the carpet. The house we moved in to was brand new and we are the first occupants. When they left there was packing material all over the house and clearly labeled boxes were in the wrong room and left in the garage. In cleaning up the packing material (that should have been removed by the movers) I filled 5 large garbage bags and had nowhere to put it. Additionally, Many items had been taken apart by the movers, against my wishes, and I was told “don’t worry” and that they would reassemble everything in Colorado. This was not the case. Three shelving units, a table, a bike, and some exercise equipment was all left in the garage unassembled. I do not have the instruction manuals for these items and was forced to figure out how to reassemble everything myself. We did not come out to Colorado to unpack our house until June and upon inspection I found that several of our nice pieces of furniture were damaged and that bolts were missing, making it difficult to put everything back together. When I discussed this with the moving company, I was never issues an apology for any of the delays, trash, unassembled items, or damage, but was simply told that they would not pay for the broken television or anything else because we did not pay for “extended insurance”. This was completely misleading because in the sit down meeting with the moving company before we signed our contract we were explicitly told that “Don’t worry, we have insurance that covers almost everything, the extended insurance is for major damage”. The extended insurance was also an additional $1400 on top of the cost of the move so we did not select it because we were under the assumption that if anything was broken, the company would do the right thing and rectify the situation. This has been the furthest thing from what has happened. Additionally, we had also arranged to have the moving company ship our car to Colorado in the beginning of June. After all of the moving complications we thought about going with a different company but we wanted to honor our commitment. I made several phone calls to schedule a time for our car to be picked up, left detailed messages, and my phone calls were never returned. This has been one of the most unprofessional experiences that I have ever had to deal with.

  • After the initial 2 hour period was over, the movers stated they had to go to their next job and that their dispatcher wrote down the truck was a 15 foot, when in reality I told her it would be a 22-26 foot truck, so only half the truck was unpacked. Dispatcher needs to be sure to get details correct, she cost the employees from getting a larger tip.

  • Excellent. I forgot to write a review after the move at the end of June. My bad. The guys were very efficient. The stairs to go up and down, plus going out to our shed. I am recommending them to a friend. Jermaine offers a flat rate or by the mile. Your choice. I chose the flat rate.

  • The movers were 1 hour late but he gave me a courtesy call to let me know that they got hung up on the previous move. So, I appreciate that. My coupon was for a 15 ft truck, 3 crew members for 4 hours. They came instead with a long truck and I can't thank that enough because we can try to move all in one load. With a 15 ft truck, we would have to do two trips and very easily go over the 4 hours which I would have to pay additional. Key to a successful move is to be prepared and have practically all items boxed. My main priority was to have the furniture moved, then heavy boxes, then move whatever fits in the remaining spaces. The apartment is up on a slope so moving involves going up and down the stairs or over the lawn. The 3 guys loaded the truck, traveled to Westminster, and unload all within 3 hours. Thank god there wasn't much traffic at that time. Overall, I was very happy with their service and will not hesitate to use them again.

  • This is without a doubt the best moving experience I've had! I'm not the easiest person to impress yet I cannot sing enough praises for this moving company. The movers were awesome: on time, professional, respectful, hard workers, careful with my just could not have been better. I've already referred two friends. Thank you so very much for making this move anxiety free and actually fun.

  • The crew was delayed in traffic for 30 minutes. Once they arrived, they got right to work. The piano was wrapped and protected and moving blankets were placed on the floors to protect carpet and hardwood. The crew was experienced with moving large bulky objects. A large pedestal desk and a large full size elliptical were moved around the house to different rooms without having to be disassembled. The crew protected the walls, doors and floors throughout the move. The price was a good value for the service received.

  • The First Choice crew arrived promptly as scheduled, and got me loaded up quickly, carefully, and professionally. They had to back down a 550ft twisty, up and down gravel driveway to get to my house, and than had to negotiate stairs for most of my furniture and boxed up stuff. One item was missed that I wouldn't have had room for in my car after I picked up the pet carrier from the vet, so someone came out to the motel where I was staying that evening, to collect it. The unloading in Denver went very smoothly and quickly also, and they placed all the furniture where I asked them to. Stairs again, and corners to negotiate. I felt sorry for the driver - having driven the 700 miles the day before, he had to turn around and drive back the same day they moved me in - he must have been exhausted when he got back, that's a miserable drive! NO BREAKAGE OR DAMAGE at all. I have already recommended First Choice to someone in Tulsa who is expecting to move in the near future, and will be happy to do so again if I hear of anyone else who needs a reliable moving company. One note - if you plan to get boxes from them, be sure and call first, the owners also run an animal rescue, so are not always available in the office. Good people.

  • First of all they showed up two and a half hours late. They didn't call to tell me they would be late. I had to call and find out from them. The individual who answered the phone kept telling me they would have someone over soon. On top of that I scheduled 3 people and the 3rd person was only there a short time. I received no compensation for the inconvenience. Also the movers were careless moving the furniture.
