    Design Exteriors LLC
Cedric designed and his firm built a paver patio, retaining wall, and concrete sidewalk in the previously nondescript backyard of our ranch-style home in Broomfield. Design Exteriors put in new landscaping around the patio, and re-planted existing plants and shrubs to conform to the new patio and yard reconstruction. They rebuilt the sprinkler system to service the new landscaping configuration. They installed low voltage lighting in and around the patio and along the new sidewalk. We couldnt be more pleased with the end result, as well as the process throughout. We are comfortable that the patio and landscaping will add significant value to our home. Further, we are comfortable that we will enjoy it for many, many years. As background, we had interviewed several firms before we found Cedric and Design Exteriors. The other firms had given us scrawled drawings (or no drawings) with their proposals and quoted prices that they could not support or break down. Cedric worked with our requirements, came back with a very complete and detailed plan with complete cost details. He talked us through his proposed landscaping design and showed us photos of the flowering plants, shrubs and trees he was recommending on an iPad as we spoke. When we subsequently unrolled what was essentially an architectural drawing for the HOA approval committee, it was obvious that they had never seen anything even remotely as professional. Cedric assigned an onsite foreman who was with us daily as his crew worked in the heat of July-August. Onsite foreman Eduardo was supremely capable and became a friend as he and his crew worked. One of his team members spent four full days individually cutting the rectangular stones that were subsequently stacked and cemented into the round patio. His team continually used a laser level to ensure the patio was the right size and leveled such that rain and melted snow would run down into the drainage system. Now finished - the seams align, the stones fit, the joints are solid. When we asked Eduardo to do what he could to prevent damage to our lawn as they brought equipment around from the front of our house to where the patio was being built, they brought pieces of plywood that they laid atop the grass every morning so that wheelbarrows and foot traffic would not damage the lawn, removing and stacking them at night. When we expressed concern that the dumpsters that would be placed on our driveway might damage the concrete, they made a platform, two plywood layers thick on the driveway to prevent damage. Finished in September, the sprinklers work perfectly, the lighting adds much to the overall design. The umbrella they recommended and installed is perfect (see photos). When we have asked questions and/or expressed concern about some of the plants that were installed, they have responded quickly and made the necessary changes. Many thanks to Cedric, Abigail, Eduardo, Enrique, Miguel and their crew for an exemplary job.

    System Pavers
Our project turned out absolutely beautiful! Kyle took our ideas and put together a layout and a plan to make it a reality. Troy our Project Manager stayed in close contact providing progress reports and made sure all my questions/thoughts were addressed. The System Pavers crew knocked the project out in 3.5 days!! Incredible! These guys worked so hard and are perfectionists. We are extremely happy with our extended patio and fire-pit. System Pavers - A good choice, Definitely!

    Afford-A-Rooter
One call to Afford-A-Rooter and A.J. was out in a few hours to confirmed the sewer issues found by the previous scope. A.J. was able to give us a quote right after his viewing of our line, and it was a lot less then we feared it would be. I will also add that A.J. had worked with us before, and can truly be trusted to tell you the problems, and fixes needed to keep things flowing smoothly. Afford-A-Rooter arrived on time to replace the broken line and tap, and even when they found parts of the line encased in cement, were able to dig a trench to replace the line, unlike the original plan to use 2 holes and a bursting technique, which would of saved them hours of time. Even with the extra digging and time the price remained the same. Flix and his crew were awesome, and left our yard looking exactly the same as it did before the repair. If you want your sewer done right, ask for Afford-A-Rooter, and A.J., for true peace of mind.

Repairman came out and addressed the issue said to call if any issues arose. There was a small leak and had to call to come back; same day of call (free of charge) to tighten the repair to ensure no leaks.

    Van Matre Construction LLC
We were having some settling issues and though we might need some helical piers so we called Brady out to take a look. He checked out our crawlspace and foundation and looked at some minor cracks. After his inspection, he told us that the settling was very minor and and jokingly said he could sell us some piers, but recommended we try to get some drainage issues taken care of and unless the minor crack in the wall ( which I had patched) doesn't come back we should not worry about it. That is the kind of honesty and integrity that convinced me that if I ever needed foundation work I would call him. I am an avid supporter of people who treat me right and that is why I wanted to take time to write this review.

    H2O Drainage Systems
When Terrill frist came out to look at the project he claimed he had a new type of drainage system that no one else knew how to do and that he was in the process of patenting it. It really sounded good so we told him we wanted to hire him. He wanted us to hire an engineer to tell him how to best do the job and gave us the engineers name, we hired the engineer to do the necessary report. According to the report we needed other work done that Terrill couldn't do so Terrill gave us the name of a company he said he had worked with and was good. This company was not good and held up the project for months, extorted money from us caused us to get a lawyer and cost us double what it should have cost. We asked Terrill to help us and he said he no longer did business with the company. While we were in H*** trying to get the other company to complete their work Terrill kept sending us warnings that we had to get on his schedule NOW! to get him to our house, first in weeks, then in months. We finally got the work done but there was a drainage problem. We hired another company who found a split drainage tube laided by Terrill. We also found out his special soon to be patented system is something other companies do regularly. Also through this whole process he was paranoid that the other company was going to see and steal his special system.

Very well.  I have a very old temperamental apartment building that seems to often have plumbing issues. They are very responsive, communicative, and friendly.  Quickly available on weekends. They are my go to guys.  I gave them a B for price because the plumbing work was more than I thought but I think hiring a plumber is just expensive and they are probably equal to every one else. I keep hiring them because they offer great service when I need it.

    JD's Plumbing Service Inc.
Called JDs to find out why our basement was flooding. Tony came by with an hour and upon inspection recommended a sump pump to eliminate future flooding in our basement. A week later he (and a helper) came back and did the install. It took about 7 hours, and was a lot of hard work. He even cleared out a clogged drain for free. He refunded the initial visit and completed the work at the estimated price.

I had already purchased a replacement part and John was happy to use mine, but I got the wrong size. Before any work was done, he told me what my options were and how he would go about doing it. I ended up getting the right sized part, once he cut out the bad faucet, so I knew I had the right size. He compared the cost of me going out to the store to his price, and saved me about $50, which is great in my book. He was done in about an hour, even with me going out to the store. His work is great and turns out he used to work for the big plumbing service we have always used, but happy to pay a little less and still get quality service. Plus, he came out on July 4th - the beauty of America!

    DRAINS PLUS INC.
Based on a small depression in my front yard and occasional drain problems in the basement, I asked Drains Plus to inspect the line and make recommendations (clean or replace).  The video inspection indicated part of the original drain had settled resulting in a place were water pooled in the line.  Drains Plus recommended replacement at a cost of $2,750 and I approved the work.

Drains Plus sent one guy to do the work.  As expected, he dug a trench to remove the original line, but he did not lay down a tarp to protect the rest of the lawn.  As a result, the rest of the lawn had to be redone (a project that cost more than the drain line!).  He also left two four foot clean-out pipes sticking up in front of my home.

After having the front yard replanted, an area of about a square yard dropped about 18 inches near the clean out pipes.  When I called Drains Plus to ask them to check to make sure the line was OK, the blew me off and never responded.

The terms and conditions of the agreement are clear that Drains Plus is not responsible for any damage they cause.  But it also says they will perform their work in a "good and workmanlike manner."  A lot of damage they caused to my yard would have been avoided by laying down a cheap tarp to protect the lawn.  I expected this as part of a "good and workman like performance."  Although some settling is expected, the amount I have experienced indicates to me that the guy who did the work did not tamp the dirt down at all.  I still have two clean out pipes sticking out of the front yard. The fact that they are at odd angles also causes me to wonder about the professionalism of the installation.

I recently called Drains Plus to request that they take a look to see if the pipes were OK.  They said they would call back, but did not.  I could request a paid service call, but at this point I don't have any confidence in them.  Besides, their work does not come with any warranty.

I take some blame for not more closely supervising the installation (I was at work when they started), but in my experience, good companies take reasonable care to minimize the damage the cause. The fact that only one guy did the work also caused me concerns about safety and now about the quality of the work done.  Would two guys have done a better on a job of this size?  Lay down a tarp?  Tamp the backfill?

Bottom line, I have a drain that seems to work.  I had the lawn re-landscaped but I still have two big pipes sticking up (yes I will cut them down myself), and a large/deep dip in my front yard.  I will call a different company to check the drain live before I fix the hole in the front yard and cut the clean out lines down to an appropriate level.  I won't be using Drains Plus again and recommend that anyone who does use them watch them like a hawk!
