Davitt was out within a couple of hours of calling. He is a really great guy. I do a lot of my own repairs, but after doing a bunch of troubleshooting on the in floor system, I knew it was time for a pro. He took time to work through explaining the system to me as this was the first house we have had an integrated furnace, water heater and flooring heat. It turns out he was the sub on the original 2015 construction. The issue was a bad control panel that operate the zone valves and furnace. Rather than go get the parts himself and incur more costs, he allowed me to go get the parts for him. That allowed him to spend the time pulling the old unit out. One thermostat needed replaced in addition which I did while he was putting the new control panel in. Yep, just see how many contractors would work with you to save costs by you working with them. He also provided the contact info for the other original subs on the house which is awesome info. The parts costs were very reasonable. They could have been easily inflated to double the material line item amount as control panels are typically very expensive components to any specialized system. To address the D rating review. You should have told him this was an insurance claim in the first place. Good luck getting folks to give you itemized materials list. Would you expect a carpenter to give you a materials list on every size board, nail and screw. Your expectations were unrealistic. After all this was supposedly an insurance claim. They are the ones to take it up with unless you were trying to pocket the difference. We are planning to construct another building on the property and will be strongly supporting Davitt as the sub for plumbing and heating.

    Garrhs Heating and Air Conditioning
Garrhs installed our Carrier Infinity heat pump and furnace in November 2014. We had a service call for no heat in January 2016 (took a week to get it fixed, but problem was resolved) and again in June 2016 when a neighbor's cows knocked the heat pump off its base. Same technician installed the heat pump and responded for the 2 subsequent calls. He was a very pleasant, personable young man with whom we conversed and joked. Heat pump stopped working again in February 2019, still under warranty. Called Garrhs and receptionist would not allow us to place a service call. Said that technician placed us on a 'do not service' status after the January 2016 service call. If this were the case, then why did the same technician service our heat pump again just 5 months later, in June 2016? The receptionist would not allow us to talk to the supervisor, Sean, nor would she allow us to talk to one of the owners of Garrhs. We asked her to have Sean call us back, but he never did. We doubt she ever gave Sean the message. It is extremely unprofessional for a business to allow a RECEPTIONIST to decide who is allowed to be a customer. We got our heat pump fixed in February 2019 by another firm. We will never call Garrhs again.

They did the work but they weren't well informed about the rebates for high efficiency units and I had to badger them for the information I needed. They did not adequately balance the system and when I called back to have them rebalance and install the ac I litterally couldnt get them to return the call. I called and left messages for the owner at least 5 times. I thought it was strange but discovered why when I had another contractor give me a quote who said he would have to rebuild the system in order to install a coil. Another 5k. 3 years later my furnace isn't working properly and I called for warranty info. They said they were the only ones who could do the work which, according to the manufacturer, isn't true.

Not well, I was without heat for weeks. Only when the cold weather came did I get any response after making multiple calls. The price was very high and I felt I was being hijacked. Ultimately I called another company who was much easier to work with.

Called this provider at the recommendation of a local builder.  Got someone on the phone but there was a bad connection - it sounded like a cell phone problem.  This man asked me to call back, which I did immediately.  I got the office voice mail and left a message with complete information, including my phone number which I always repeat twice.  I never heard back from Farenheit and had to find another provider for my electrical problem.  Would never use or recommend this company.

Our furnace went out and I called first thing on Monday morning to see if they could help.  The receptionist was pleasant and took all our information but then informed me that it would be a week before they could come out.  At that point I thanked her and hug up - when it is cold out and you are trying to heat your house with a gas fireplace, you can't wait a week.  Garrh's seems like a large HVAC dealer so I was surprised they were not able to address a urgent repair situation sooner.

    Service Pro
We woke up on Sunday morning and the house was cold - furnace was not working.  I waited until Monday to call Service Pro as we were able to heat the house with our gas fireplace and I wanted to avoid a weekend service charge (assumed that would be the case but I didn't call).  I had used Jeff Brown at Service Pro previously so I emailed Jeff first thing in the morning.  He called before noon and said he was buried all day but would swing by after 4:00.  He called back and informed me that he wouldn't be able to make it until after 5:00 but was sending his service tech out to help.  Jeremy, his service tech, arrived early and quickly diagnosed the problem (a cracked igniter coil).  He also checked the rest of the furnace to make sure there were no other problems.  Jeremy confirmed the part was available and that he would go pick up and give to Jeff to bring out (it was Jeremy's day off and he came out anyway).  Jeff arrived shortly after 5:00 with the part and quickly installed and tested the unit.  He also went over other items on the furnace to make sure everything was in working order.  Both Jeff and Jeremy were quick, efficient and professional.
This was the first time I met Jeff in person - all previous work was done form a different state with tenants in our home.  In every case, Jeff was prompt, efficient and pleasant, and he properly corrected the problem at a fair price.  We will continue to give Service Pro both our system maintenance business and they will be our first call when we have a problem.

He is overpriced, and when I asked them to explain the planned work they got angry at my questions.  His contractor showed up and reeked of cigarette smoke so bad that I could not stand to be within 5 feet of him.  I ended up asking them to leave.  I just started using Angie's list.  I wish I would have looked up this contractor before calling. The ratings he gets here are very appropriate!

    Cal Steel And Sheet Metal
Our heater broke down at the worst possible time - extreme lows.  I called a repair company  that was located up the street and was told that the soonest they could get out was on Monday 12/10/13.  They didn't seem to care that we would be without heat over the weekend which was unacceptable and said as much. Needless to say, I will never contact that company ever again.  After checking the yellow pages, I selected Cal Steel without much consideration except to get our heater working. As it turned out, it was a good selection.
I spoke to Jason, who said he would be happy to stop by after his first stop.  Jason was very professional and was prompt which I appreciated a lot.  He checked the unit, thermostat and the volume and velocity of the heater output and even considered checking the crawl space.  Eventually he was able to get the heater working and said that if we had any problems all we had to do was call him.
We had heat over the weekend, which was greatly appreciated by all.  Then this morning we woke to find that the heater failed again and it was very chilly.  I waited til 730 am to call and was surprised to get Jason that early.  I told him what was going on and he said he would be over by 9am.  And true to his word, he arrived right on time.  After checking the heater again, he thought that the problem was related to a failing circuit board.  By 915 our home was toasty warm!.
Jason has to order the circuit board and told us that he would get it by the afternoon.  He said that if we had problems, give him a call and he would come back out and replace a pressure unit if needed.  He didn't think that was the problem, but he was going to look into the problem further to get us a solution. So far our heat is working and he didn't charge us for the follow up call and I will call them for any future needs.  Mahalo and Mele Kaliki Maka Jason, your our hero!

Great communication about timeframe--including cell phone contact as they were on their way. They took the time to explain how the system worked (we are new to the house) and went over basic troubleshooting.
