  • Took my mom there for help and Jim Anderson was fantastic just listening to my 90 year old mom going on on . He was so patient with my mom explaining everything to her. He was the kindest man. I ended up getting service to because he was so kind and patient. It was like his whole day was just for my mom. He came up with a plan for my mom that fits her. He even went above and beyond to speak to my brother about what he had found for my mom since he handles her bills and explained to him how he needed to go about handling the payment.

  • The quality of network physicians, facilities and services has been consistently outstanding.  Claims are processed efficiently and within the time frames expected.  The only issue we've had in 15 years is with the recent change of prescription services.  They changed from Medco pharmacy to OptumRX and we are essentially committed to not purchasing any prescriptions through the service now after only three months with the new company.  The transfer of services required us to repeat lengthy review processes with medications necessary for the health and well-being of our daughter.  After 4 phone calls with the customer service department we have not yet spoken with a person who accurately interprets or represents our benefits plan or can intelligently discuss our needs without backstepping on everything they have said because of their incorrect interpretations.
    Out of fear that life dependent prescriptions will not be filled properly, we have not filled any prescriptions through them and are willing to pay the additional fee to go through a local (non-mail order) pharmacy for all of our needs.  This experience has unfortunately changed our perspective on the ability of UHC to consistently make the best decisions for our family's insurance needs and benefit providers.

  • I was previously billed with wellness check up services that was supposed to be fully covered by my employer's insurance plan. I contacted both my medical providers and BCBS for assistance. Medical provider is slow to respond and make amendment to the billing error but my insurance provider seems to be on top of the game and keep me updated on the progress and resolution quickly and effectively. Explanation of Benefits and billing seems to be straightforward and easy to understanding. Overall, it seems like BCBS is on top of their game.

  • This is a great hospital. All the rooms are single rooms, and the nurses are excellent. They have excellent food, and they have award wining chefs. If you family is visiting you, they can order food and bring it up to your room. Their food is also very reasonable priced.

  • They were very prompt to get her into a room within a few minutes and start treatments.  We have been there several times when she gets exasperated.  As long as you have good communication with the Dr's and follow your gut (not always trusting the nurses blindly), then you are good.  The Dr's there are very caring and take the time to listen.  In our situation, I knew my daughter was having a severe attack which did not show up on the machines.  I called the nurse button and due to her numbers on the screen they did NOT come in for over 20 min.  I finally had to go to the desk and demand for the Dr immediately.  Right away the Dr. diagnosed pneumonia with the attack and started an aggressive treatment, something which the nurse did not diagnose.

  • He was admitted for 2 days. They have a very fine emergency room and if someone complains of chest pain, everybody come from everywhere and takes care.  They started testing, by the time I reached.

  • A sales rep. from Evercare called me and explained to me their program. Sales man asked me if he could come to my house and explain to me material. I agreed. We set up an appt date. He came to my home (not sure exactly when) I reviewed the material with him and I said I was interested, but I wanted to think it over and discuss this with my kids. He said that we don't have much time to make this decision because federal government gives citizens a time frame to change plans. He said I will be calling you. He called me and came back to my home and I said I will only sign up with this plan if the doctors I go to are in your network. I gave him every doctor and business cards for each doctor that I go to. he looked up in his manual and told me that each doctor I was going to were members in their network. Last Friday I got a phone call from my primary physicians office (Dr. Linares) stating that they were not involved with Evercare care. AT ALL. I called Evercare and was on the phone for 4 hours with them. They just kept shoving me from 1 dept. to the other. They were rude and not helpful nd said they couldn't even tell me who the sales guy was!!!! They were just awful and now I have no doctors! I finally got a hold of the sales guy and he said he was in Virgina last week, he said he would call me the following Monday when he was back in town. Said not to worry about it and he would take care of it. It is now Wednesday and he still hasn't called. I stayed home all Monday morning waiting for his call (Kenneth McClusky). I now can't get a working # to contact and I should have known when I asked him for a card he said he didn't have one. Then held up his cell phone and said that he carries it with him all time. Now he has disappeared. I feel like this is a scam.
