    After the initial 2 hour period was over, the movers stated they had to go to their next job and that their dispatcher wrote down the truck was a 15 foot, when in reality I told her it would be a 22-26 foot truck, so only half the truck was unpacked. Dispatcher needs to be sure to get details correct, she cost the employees from getting a larger tip.

    Excellent. I forgot to write a review after the move at the end of June. My bad. The guys were very efficient. The stairs to go up and down, plus going out to our shed. I am recommending them to a friend. Jermaine offers a flat rate or by the mile. Your choice. I chose the flat rate.

    Great! Jamar and Diego handled all my belongings with care and were careful to place all boxes in the labeled room all while being efficient with their time.     Horribly. To begin, I confirmed my appt with operations manager on Friday, come Monday, after numerous calls and texts trying to confirm time movers would arrive, with no response, I was told by owner crew would be out around 2-3 pm. Shortly after, the operation manager text to say they had no crew or truck available to move us that day. a few hours later received call stating 2 reps would be stopping by to see the size of the job... to see if they could make the move work for that day. I thought great. I emphasized to the person calling that as we had been told they weren't showing up that day, we had taken a much needed break from packing so we would need a few hours to get things ready for movers. The next communication was from the 3 movers stating they were outside our house ready to go. I explained to them that we were not expecting them... and were not ready for things to be loaded onto the truck, that they would be sitting around more than loading the truck as we still needed to finish packing last minute items... They insisted it would be fine, they would help pack and get the job done. Against my wishes and best judgement, they stayed. As I am disabled, I spent the day packing my room and left my husband to try to supervise. Instead of supervising, he was loading the truck, dismantling furniture... as the crew had brought no tools themselves. Every time I went to check on progress the crew of 3 were sitting on the back of their truck watching my husband pack. I had told all 3 workers as well as the operations manager and the guy who initially took my information at the company that there were 2 pieces of furniture that NEEDED special care that day, my year old bedroom set and my antique stereo. I specifically showed the crew the turntable of the stereo and explained how it needed to be packed so that the turntable would not get tossed around when moved. Unfortunately, no one listened. After 7 plus hours at our home, the truck was full, the amount of time for the move had expired and we still had half a house of belongings still not on the truck. My husband went to the new house with the crew. When I went the next day, EVERYTHING from the truck was shoved into my living room and family room, including my platform bed. (it stayed in my living room for over 3 weeks as no one from the company would return my calls) All the heavy furniture was in the middle of my living room, still shrink wrapped. Boxes stacked 3 feet high... When I took the shrink wrap off of my antique stereo and opened the turntable cabinet, there was no packing inside and the turntable was (is ) in 2 pieces. The knob to the 1948 tv is broken in two. My year old bedroom set looks like it went through a car wreck and hail storm. The few boxes that the crew packed had professionally framed pictures at bottom of the boxes, glass side up with anything and everything thrown on top. Needless to say, glass and frames were broken. my stand alone freezer sat in my backyard, through rain, for over 3 weeks, until a guy from company was nice enough to take it to my basement and put the platform of my bed in my bedroom. Unfortunately, after doing his very best, all alone to put the platform together, pieces are hanging from one screw, none of the drawers open or close properly. This added to the scratches, dents, scuffs... left by the original crew. My daughter's desk leg is broken off, my antique sewing machine stand is gouged. Items are missing still to this day. The owner refused to speak with me, instead put that task on his newest employee. It has been 2 months, and I still have not gotten anything from the owner except "your landlord said it was going to be a tough move". When I asked him how my landlord would know as he had not been to my home in over a month, he just kept repeating the above quote. I asked Andrew, the owner of Able, what made it a difficult move? the fact that we weren't a single or 2 person household? or the fact that his movers sat for close to 50 percent of the time they were on the clock. I have asked Andrew to email me with how he is going to make things right... He still hasn't and after leaving me a text a few weeks ago, refuses to respond to my vm's and texts to his cell phone. I want to be paid for my damaged items, the missing ones as well. not to mention the fact that I had to get friends to help move furniture and my bed is still in 3 pieces. it took us 4 more days to get the house completely empty and transported to our new home, should we not be refunded $ for the move itself? I still have shrink wrapped items in my living room as they are extremely heavy and take more than one man to move. BEYOND DISGUSTED with Able Moving

    First of all they showed up two and a half hours late. They didn't call to tell me they would be late. I had to call and find out from them. The individual who answered the phone kept telling me they would have someone over soon. On top of that I scheduled 3 people and the 3rd person was only there a short time. I received no compensation for the inconvenience. Also the movers were careless moving the furniture.

    Jamar, Charles, and AJ were extremely courteous and helpful. They went above and beyond helping with my mother's move to her new home. Very stressful day for our family but these three really made a difference. I highly recommend Abe Lincoln Movers.

    Would I hire these guys again? Heck no! I ended up paying an additional $450 for a job I was expecting to pay $900 at best for! The horror stories of movers being shady are exactly what I was trying to avoid and that is exactly what I ended up with. I have not yet seen my furniture because my house is not done and I fear for what I find when I finally do see it!

    I think that day they were overbooked and ending up starting our move 2 hours later than scheduled. That really can't be helped so I wasn't too upset about it. The two gentlemen worked as fast as they could and were very mindful of the surroundings and recently cleaned carpet. My only complaint, and it has nothing to do with the workers, was that their truck leaked oil on our driveway. If you haven't already, please repair that for future clients.

    I have a lot of stuff, and a lot of it is big heavy stuff so when the truck pulled up and a young woman jumped out with sweatpants on that said "PINK" on her backside I was worried. A third person did show up, an elderly gentleman that was very out of shape. Larry, the fellow who's business it is did hussle back and forth filling the truck but they were not very careful with my things and broke a lamp (which he attempted to hide when it was unloaded), along with numerous other things I've come across as I've been unpacking. They knocked the daylights out of the washing machine getting it upstairs and I ended up having to call a repair man to re-attach the shock absorbers that had come loose. I was not happy with the quality of their work and how long it took. I would not use them again.

    I described my home to Ron on the phone and together we decided the job required a 25 foot truck and 3 men. Ron spoke with me on the phone the morning of the move and felt a 4th man would make the move go quicker. Once the 4 men and Ron had arrived I asked Ron to give me a ballpark estimate on the number of hours this would take once he took a brief look at my home and its contents. He estimated 5-6 hours. Ron then left. It ended up taking over 10 hours. The charges were hourly! I was getting uneasy at the 6-hour point when there was still much to move. At this point I spoke with Ron on the phone about the progress and how the pace had slowed considerably compared to the first few hours (it was a hot day). He offered no recourse--it was what it was; his estimate was only an estimate; he couldn't do anything about how the pace had slowed. He actually got snippy with me when I suggested perhaps a fresh crew at the halfway point on such a hot day would have been a good idea. The men worked very hard but they wore down in the heat. After the 10-plus hours there was still much to move but it was already 9:00 p.m. They had made 2 trips and a 3rd trip would have been necessary to finish the job. I moved the remaining house contents on my own over the next couple of weeks. A heavy armoire was damaged during the move. Ron and one of the moving men came the next day to repair it. However, the repair was worse than the problem (it was my fault that I trusted them when they said it was fixed as I did not check it before they left). Follow-up calls to come back to redo the repair resulted in promises to get back to me. Then no answer to my call and no return of my message. I spent a couple of hours fixing the broken armoire on my own--but there are still areas that I could not repair. Ron did concede an hour of charges in the final bill. However, the final cost was higher than I expected. I advise anyone to have a moving company's representative come and give a firm quote on a move instead of going on an hourly rate. I cannot recommend Abe Lincoln Movers & Storage because of the unacceptable service on the broken furniture.
