    Save Home Heat Company
In November, our furnace started having issues. I contacted three companies via Angie's list. Save Home Heat was the first to respond and make an appointment. We are a little our of their range, so their was potentially a dispatch charge. Not only were they prompt, they called to see if they could come early and they did! Gabe went into our crawl space and checked the furnace. He diagnosed the problems, discussed them with me, and fixed them. Since service was needed, the dispatch fee was reimbursed. We have not had any problems since his repair and I really appreciated the fact that he answered all my questions, discussed what he was doing and had observed, and emailed a detailed invoice, with photos ($350). We ordered a Nest thermostat and made an appointment with SHH to install it. Kyler arrived promptly, discussed what was to be done, and installed the thermostat. Again, he was thorough and answered all of my questions ($200). There may be cheaper services out there, but we think such high quality service really pays for itself. SHH has an option for Pro Plan memberships that include annual furnace and AC tune ups, whole home electrical and plumbing inspection, etc. We plan to sign up for that in the near future.

    Namast Solar
Short version: Go solar and go with Namaste! From the first meeting, we were impressed with Gary Ganzler and the entire Namaste team. I met with Namaste and another highly rated solar company. At the first meeting, Gary had images of our roof with a superimposed draft of where the panels would be placed. He also went over the size of the system we would need, the pay-back time, and he thoroughly answered all my questions. At the end of our meeting, he went up on the roof to gain a more detailed understanding of how the panels would fit best, and soon emailed a revised draft of the panel placement. (The only thing the other company came prepared to discuss was how the system might be paid for. Since we had saved money for this project that meeting was a complete waste of time.) The other difference in the two companies was that Namaste's estimate of when they could do it was a few months. The other company estimated they could get started in a year. The cost estimates of the two companies were within a few hundred dollars. I met with Gary in late December 2017. Our system started running by the end of May 28, 2018. Probably two months of that time was my husband and me dithering about whether this was the right time for us to take the solar plunge. Namaste took care of all the details of inspections and working with our local utility (United Power). Every member of their organization was knowledgeable, polite, and happy to answer questions. We have an older house and they have the capability to do the necessary upgrades for the electrical system. Now, not only do we have a minimal electrical bill ($20 to United Power for maintenance, $0 for electricity, saving $60 - $120 per month), but we can see, through their Solar Edge on-line connection, how each panel is doing every day. This told me when the tree branches next door started extending too far over our roof and soaking up our sunshine, which the neighbors kindly trimmed back! More detailed information that might be helpful: Our system is a grid-tied 6.7 kW Solar PV array, flush roof mount, 9120 kWh estimated average annual solar electricity production. It cost us $21,000, but we will get a 30% tax credit next year ($6000). It was designed to cover 100% of our electricity usage for our 1650 sq ft home.

    A&L ENTERPRISES LLC
He did a really good job for me. They were fair, and honest. They gave me a good, competitive price. I will definitely use them again in the future.
