  • The staff was very friendly and punctual. Both the hygienist and dentist knowledge, caring attitudes and attention to detail were greatly appreciated. The time they took to analyze the jaw and teeth along with the detailed diagnosis and referral they offered me was commendable.

  • He is fantastic. He listens to his patients. His dental hygienists are very hands on. They explain ways that you can improve on like brushing, flossing or anything else. They do not ridicule you if you do not do a certain thing the right way, they will just encourage you to do better if something is wrong and they are very compassionate to the patients. Meaning, they don’t want them to be anxious or in pain if a procedure has to be taken. They are very kind way to look at it when it comes to dentistry.

  • With several office visits the repairs were done, and there were no problems later--that is, the fillings and crowns have been intact.
I had heard negative comments of Comfort Dental in  other locations from friends and acquaintances, but Dr. Bourne himself was excellent, efficient and caring. The price was fair and reasonable, and he gave me a detailed procedure and cost before beginning treatment. He did not try to talk me into unnecessary procedures.

  • X-rays were taken even though I offered to work with my previous dentist to obtain x-rays from December.  (This dentist did wave the x-ray fee.
The number of x-rays taken seemed excessive.  I would guess approximately 12 when historically I recall 4 to 6.  The x-rays were not used as part of the diagnosis.  Instead, the dentist took "photos" of my teeth which has never been previously done by any other dentist that I have seen.
The photos were used exclusively as the diagnosis.  The dentist went painstakingly tooth by tooth diagnosing the need to fill 6 cavities and replacing 2 other fillings with crowns.  When I questioned her diagnosis given that my previous dentist of 10 years had diagnosed 1 cavity during my cleaning in December 2014, she stated that her diagnosis was "different" as a measure of evaluation.
I continued to question the methodology of using photos by stating that it could appear to be a "shock factor" as most patients have never before seen photos of their teeth.  As I continued to ask how I could have collected 6 cavities in 4 months, the dentist showed a tooth with a dark area near the gum and asked me if I did not think that was a cavity putting the diagnosis responsibility on the patient.  I am not the individual who went to dental school and gained a degree in dentistry.  Why would any dentist ask a patient to diagnose what are and are not cavities?
Near the end of the evaluation, I stated that I thought the process might be an effort to "ring the cash register" to gain additional profits from this patient.  The dentist denied this tactic stating that she was only telling me the work she would recommend performing and that I had the final say in any decision.
In review, it appeared that this dentist was maximizing profitability by finding minor dental flaws in teeth that are 55 years old and recommending that complete repair be performed to rectify these items.  Also, I do not believe there was any consideration of what the patient had previously experienced or how historical diagnosis would impact my perception of this evaluation.
I will not go back to this dentist and would be very leery of using only photos with no discussion or reference to x-rays as a diagnosis method.

  • Not sure how much it cost; this office direct bills Delta Dental, my insurance carrier. The office staff is friendly and knowledgeable; Dr Richards is very professional, very good, and a fast worker. He's done a crown as well as some repair fillings for me in past visits. I'm very happy with this dentist's office.

  • Excellent result. Had to cut away a part of the gum to prepare the tooth for the crown. Dr. Murphy used a laser, which was painless and the the healing process was very speedy. No pain during or after the procedure. The permanent crown was ready the next day. Overall great service. Both my wife and I rely on Dr.Murphy for all our dental needs. Highly recommend.

  • Always a delightful experience there! Very friendly folk, always good at explaining what needs to be done, and their prices are in-line with other dentists as well. Quality work that never needs to be re-visited. The only minor nit is that their wait times for an appointment seem to be getting longer (probably because their getting more people since they're good at what they do, but it might be time to expand the office soon).
    - Gregory H.
  • I've been using him for a long time. He is very professional and very knowledgeable. He pays attention to the patient. He has done a good job. He is very, very busy but if I schedule, he is available. His staff is wonderful.

  • They're all good. I highly recommend them. They're friendly and everybody in the practice is confident, from the hygienist going up. It's just a well run practice. I did not have any problems getting an appointment there.
    - David K.
  • She is great! She is fantastic! She came out of the military. I love her and I recommend her. I've been seeing her for 7 years now. She is personable and thorough. I think she is needed within the military, but she goes every year for 2 weeks and does work for military people. Her office staff is nice. I like the hygienist. She is wonderful!
