Septic Tank Cleaning reviews in Littleton

    Columbia Sanitary Service

On 9-15-15 Fred arrived and pumped out one of our tanks and cleaned our filter. When the filter was being removed, it was brought to my attention that the float ha been altered and fastened with duct tape. I asked if he knew anyone who could repair it and he hadnt a clue. Well he taped it back in and not at the correct level and the alarm sounded. This was less than a week after pumping.

I tried to contact your company for answers> No response for several hours. We were able to find help with John Todd company.

Not only did they repair the float system but found that Fred only pumped the gray water holding tank and not the solids.  I asked at the pumping time why there were 2 more tank openings. They did have some grass growing on the top of those tanks but were easily accessible. My questions were ignored. He did state that we needed new concrete lids and an address: Lid Flixx on Highway 93. was given. I explained from the beginning that we were not the original owners and never had septic before.

Now when we did hear back from Fred, he stated it was the riser pump, which it is not, as the alarm was for the float mechanism.

After looking closer at your web site, covers and risers are available. So what was the deal? So what if he needed to make a call and have someone else to fix the system?

I waited almost a month for this kind of service?

    John Todd Septic Service
The work was performed such that 1500 square feet of sod were damaged in the back yard, unnecessarily.  The owner of the company did not take responsibility for this mess, and after agreeing to cover the clay that damaged the landscaped sod with topsoil and seed it, neglected to follow up.  The cost of the repairs to the sod damaged by this company exceeded the repair cost for the septic work performed.

    John Todd Septic Service
From the beginning, Todd offered excellent service. I initially called to have someone mark the location of our tank for the new owners. Linda from Todd informed me that it was a county requirement that the tank be certified prior to a transfer sale. Between the two of us, we recalled that they had been out to our home before to pump the tank, but it had not been within the prior two years. We scheduled for Todd to come and pump and certify the tank about a week prior to our scheduled closing. In the interim, Linda did some research in county records to locate the tank so that I could mark it for the guys, as we were anticipating 10" of snow over the weekend. No record existed, but Linda recalled that when they had been out previously, another firm had been out replacing the tank lid. I was able to call that company (Jim's excavating) and they were very accommodating in coming out and clearing the earth to reveal the tank lid. Joe from Todd arrived on time the day of our appointment. Unfortunately, the pasture was too muddy for his truck to venture into the field; however, he did do a preliminary inspection and found a couple of holes in the tank. He said that he would be unable to certify the tank in that condition. We needed a new tank. Of course, I panicked. We were scheduled to close in just 9 days. Joe called his boss *also his dad, i think* and the two of them thought they could get it done. The trick was to be able to get a county permit for the new tank in sufficient time. We agreed to a premium price that i'm sure reflected the urgency of our situation, but based on a few phone calls I made, it was within a range of reasonableness that made me comfortable that Todd was not gouging us. The original inspection was on a Tuesday. Todd had permits in hand and a new tank in the ground, signed off by the county, by Friday. It was a miracle. I'm convinced that Todd's stellar reputation with the county helped our cause. I will be forever grateful for their shared sense of urgency and dedicated to getting the tank in so as not to interfere with our scheduled closing date. Todd saved the day!

We had a clogged toilet - I printed off a coupon from Angie's List, called, scheduled, and received prompt response.  Relatives would be staying at our house in just a few days, so I appreciated the quick response time and solution to the problem.
