    Metro Smiles P.C./Robin Asbury DDS
I did 3 fillings with Dr Robin on my upper left teeth last year. I felt that the fillings were too high, so I went ahead scheduled a biting adjustment. During the adjustment, Dr Robin and her assistant trimmed and polished both of my upper and lower left teeth (which were my own teeth), telling me that the biting would be much better after a couple of weeks. But it did teeth got more and more sensitive that I couldn't even bite. So I had to go to other dentists for 2nd and 3rd opinions. Unfortunately, after reviewing my teeth, the dentists confirmed that Dr Robin trimmed my own teeth (both upper and lower) when she did the biting adjustment, and with the protective shield of my teeth being trimmed off, my teeth would become very sensitive when chewing food. And I'd have to do a crown to totally resolve the problem...I couldn't imagine how come an experienced dentist could not tell the difference between the fillings and a human's own teeth...I feel so sad that I have to consider doing a crown on my early 30s...Yes, they do have nice atmosphere and advanced equipment, but I don't think the doctor and the assistant's skills are well qualified. Fortunately I've found a really experienced dentist, and they charge only 1/3 of the price for fillings! Price wise, I have a pretty decent dental plan and it normally costs me around $20/filling, but Dr Robin's office charged me around $50/filling.

They did everything right. The lady cleaning my teeth was very nice and relational. The dentist on the other came in with an exaggerated smile and starts using terms that I would use on a 10 year old boy. He reminded me of a used cars salesman. Kinda freaked me out and overwhelmed me. I don't know if all the dentists there are the same, but I found a dentist that is much more down to earth and speaks to me honestly and plainly.

I was seen right at the scheduled time. I wasn't kept waiting. The examination and cleaning went smoothly.  Dr. Just's receptionist agreed to follow up with me to re-schedule for a filling so that I would have a chance to check my office calendar.  That was very helpful.

I get a cleaning every four months with the same hygienist. This makes canceling the appointment very difficult as she is quite busy. However, it is worth the wait as I get a full hour with her. My teeth feel wonderful after and the process is very painless. Note: thereis no discount for cash payers, but the approximate $88 for just the cleaning is worth it to me.

    Aloha Dental
Aloha Dental was recommended by a close friend. Since the office was close to our house, we thought we would try them.
After one cleaning all four of us decided we would not be going back. Dr. Isaacs told us we all had multiple cavities. The kids each had 5 cavities. My husband who has not had a cavity in more than 30 years was told he had 3 cavities. He scheduled an appointment with his former dentist and he has no cavities at all.
She asked about who was our orthodontist and then proceeded to say negative things about him personally and about his office staff and how he did bad work. She said we should come to her instead for orthodontia work. Her assistant told us that our orthodontist was a bad person to work for. It was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional.
Dr. Isaacs told my 14 year old daughter that it was very bad that she had to have braces for as long as she did. She did not know the reasons why she had the braces on for as long as she did and the way she said it made my daughter feel like she did something wrong. (Poor bedside manner!)
My son who has never had any issues with any dentist said he was afraid to go back to her. When I took him back to our old dentist he was not afraid of him.

January 13, 2013: In response to the provider response: The assistant did previously work at the orthodontist. Maybe the reason for them speaking this way is because she had worked there. Even so, it was extremely unprofessional.

I also spoke with my friend who recommend Aloha Dental and she stated she no longer used them either.

    Scavuzzo, Dr Frank P.
The experience was excellent. I had a routine visit a month ago. It was cosmetic and general. He is competent and
he is very easy to talk to and discuss issues. He is very intelligent and an all around nice guy. He does a lot of study to keep up with the latest procedures. They are punctual.

They are the real dentists, they are not like the chain-dentists, and they are quality dentists.  It has been excellent.  They are professionals.  They are courteous.  The office is state-of-the-art, they are cutting edge on technology and everything is digital.  They are very efficient; they get me in and out, so I don’t wait.  They notice stuff, they are very knowledgeable and no pain.

The staff was great, explained everything as it progressed.  The hygienist Heather was very thorough and informative.  The problem was with the dentist Dr. Blakeley.  My appointment lasted 2.5 hours, yet I saw Dr. Blakeley for less than 10 minutes.  She did not speak to me, but to the assistant standing behind me.  She did not go over the x-rays, or the detailed photos they took.  She did not talk to me about the treatment she wanted to do, she had her assistant Melissa do that at the end of the appointment.  In essence I could of left before seeing Dr. Blakeley and been just as informed.  I called and cancelled my subsequent appointments and was called by Melissa, the assistant, who tried to take the blame for Dr. Blakeley's bedside manner.  She stated that Dr. Blakeley was upset with the way things went and wanted me to come in for the treatment.  I believe if Dr. Blakeley was truly upset and concerned with customer care and customer service she would have made the call herself and not have her assistant do it for her.  The next issue was with Audra in billing.  I paid by credit card in advance for 2 procedures recommend by Melissa.  Since I was not happy with Dr. Blakeley I canceled them.  Audra would not refund me in full for the 2 procedures.  She offered 2 alternatives, a refund by check for the prepaid amount minus a couple hundred dollars, "just in case my insurance did not cover the cleaning."  I explained that my wife is a patient there and insurance has always covered her cleanings.  The second alternative was not to refund money until the insurance paid for the cleanings then she would refund me the full amount by check.  I refused both of these and I had to demand a full refund.  Audra refused, I told her I would then cancel the payment through my credit card company and she stated "do what you have to do!"  We argued some more and I asked her if she was will to lose not one but two patients, she then stated she would check with her Business Manager and call me back.  She called back in 1/2 hour and stated she would credit my credit card for a full refund.  The worst part of this ordeal was I did not owe them any money, I paid in advance for services not received.  Yet Audra assumed my insurance would not pay and I was not trustworthy enough to pay any portion the insurance would not pay.

The experience with them was excellent.  I am absolutely terrified of dentist but I am not terrified to go there. They are very friendly and very comforting.  They are so gentle and kind.  They are all female and I don’t know if that makes the difference.
