  • This is a summary of my experience with Kaiser Permanente at their Rock Creek facility. The headline was that I experienced 4 years of a stunning lack of professionalism and fundamental incompetence. I do acknowledge that Kaiser has its champions, and great for them. From my perspective, my boys and I used their services maybe 10 times and each and every interaction was a waste of Kaiser’s time and our time. On 3 occasions I had to go elsewhere to find a provider that was competent to diagnose and treat. Now I absolutely respect that the reality can well be “you have a bad cold, go home and sleep it off.” My experience however was dominated by the wrong diagnosis of shingles and a stunning inability to deal with lower back muscle inflammation. A sports doctor and chiro, recognized the issue and resolved it in 2 weeks. The crowning blow however, was my attempt to schedule a routine preventive procedure. When I signed up the first available appointment was 90 days out. Well, OK. 5 days before the appointment I was in Japan and had received no communication about the protocol. I had to cancel. When I returned, I tried to reschedule and got the same 90 day wait. Like my previous experiences, I went to another outside provider and got it scheduled and completed in 8 days. My company chose a high deductible plan, which makes perfect sense. Kaiser’s premiums were lower than the big insurance companies. However, all I can say is caveat emptor (buyer beware). Just for sport I estimated that they collected $60,000 or so in premiums from us and delivered exactly nothing. I got a bill every time for their failures. I sent this summary to Kaiser at the end of last year, and received a “sorry about that, live long and prosper.” Really not even a basic attempt to look into the situation a say something relevant. Thankfully now we have dropped Kaiser and can choose our providers.

  • The doctor herself is fine but her staff is not. Calling back with result of tests takes weeks. Responding to requests for prescription refills takes a long time as well even after repeated requests by the pharmacy. Scheduling appointments is difficulty and they cancel/try to reschedule on the same day of the appointment even though the appointment was scheduled weeks ago and they called the day before to confirm appointment. Reason told was because they had and quot;overbookedand quot; appointments. Is this an airline or a doctor's office? Next appointment available was another 2 weeks away.

  • I switched practices mid-way through my pregnancy to Boulder Women's Care due to the good reports I'd heard about the clinic from friends.  I am very glad I did.  I saw all the doctors, and I liked all the doctors.  I felt like the office was professional and took the time to answer any questions I had at all my appointments.  I never felt rushed by the doctors.  Dr. Jamros was the doctor who delivered my baby, and I can't say enough wonderful things about her.  I had a wonderful experience with her guidance.

  • Resident was often angry and anxious to the point of scaring residents and being clearly very uncomfortable. One call to Dr Mahalingam's office was sufficient to get the NP, Pat, to attend to this immediately and in person. A med review was done, pain and infection was ruled out, a prescription was written and filled, meds were given and the resident was calmed, lucid and quite a bit more comfortable.  Though we had the answering service for Dr Mahalingam to call for problems, Pat called and checked with us after the time that medication would have been effective. She had been prepared to come in again, though that was not necessary.  Dr Mahalingam has responsibility for almost all of our residents. We are glad she does.

  • They are extremely professional and particularly informative. He explained my condition very well. I had seen another sleep specialists but not gotten quite the information Dr. Simon had. He has a nationwide reputation as one of the leading experts in sleep apnea.

  • They are absolutely superb. I having going to another provider and they have actually missed something that Kaiser picked up. They referred me to the right specialist every time. I had been developing anemia for the third time and this time, they sent me to a gastroenterologist who looked at my stomach and found that indeed, I had some erosion that nobody else have ever detected. He also found that I have celiac disease and he's treating that.

  • My husband was dying of pancreatic cancer, but he was so intensely miserable and sick. When he went for the original surgery, which turned out to be inoperable, at University Hospital they made a huge mistake. They cut an area they shouldn't have and then he couldn't eat after that. It was not Dr. Leibovitz mistake. He did an additional bypass surgery for his own comfort for the last 6 months so that he could eat. It made his last few months so much more comfortable for him. I recommended him to a friend about 6 weeks ago who had breast cancer. She is recovering from that surgery now and she is very pleased with how he handled her case and surgery. I would use him.

  • I absolutely loved them. Some doctors office we go to, they schedule six patients in ten minutes. They do not do that there. They take their time and make sure we understand everything. Obviously, we cannot hear very well, that is why we are there in the first place, so they make sure they speak very clearly and understandingly. They make sure we understand everything and they are just super nice people. There is not anything that I do not like about them.

  • Our experience with him has been great. He is great. He has been absolutely fabulous, not just for what he has done for us but also for his recommendations to go to the other doctors. He has always been very well in giving us the time and everything. He does not rush us through. He is very understanding. We have a good rapport with him. His availability has been excellent and we have even had the same day appointments with him. His staff is very pleasant and very helpful. I would tell the other members to go to him as he is the best.
