The men showed up on time, explained everything, leveled out the land by the house were they dug under the house. They let me know how it worked and what maintenance to expect and what it was like if it stopped. Even suggested a lock on the on/off switch so kids would not turn it off when playing. Everything went well and looks great. Waiting on Radon test mailed in today to see the results.

I was very pleased with the work that Clarke did.  He showed up on time and even helped me remove a heavy water filtration system that the previous owners had installed.  My house is a tri-level and so the basement is 80% finished but also has a crawl space where the furnace is located.  He put down heavy plastic in the crawl space and put a suction below the slap for the finished section of the basement.  He worked pretty much straight through from 8 to 1.  When he left he showed me how the system worked and how to read the meter which shows if the fan is pulling air or not. He also gave us a radon test kit to use to ensure the level was below the EPA accepted level.  I can't recommend him enough.  He does the job all by himself and so you're not waiting on multiple contractors or paying extra because multiple people are working on the job.  The path he decided to use goes up the interior wall of our garage and out through the roof.  Other radon contractors I talked with wanted to charge a lot more and add the pipe to the outside of the house which is not ideal because it looks bad and you can hear the fan.  I wish everyone that came to the house to do work was as competent and professional as Clarke.  He's done something like 2,000 installations and so he knows what he's doing!  I couldn't be more pleased with his work which even comes with a guarantee to get the level below the EPA standard.

Went well. Todd arrived on time, made his way through the house top to bottom and was available and very willing to answer any and all questions. We had a follow up inquiry that he also responded to quickly a few days later. Super friendly and knowledgable guy.

My house is for sale and I had to have a few repairs taken care of, including having tested high for radon. I actually had three repairmen in the house and was on the phone, when Don and his 2 helpers arrived. My daughter let them in and showed them where the stairs to the basement were.

Fifteen minutes later, I was able to check with Don, and he had chosen the best spot for the system. He explained why he chose it and I agreed. They promptly went to work and a couple of hours later, he showed me the work they had done.

They used tarps on my floors to protect them. They moved things as necessary to reach where they needed to work, then put them back in place. They cleaned up after themselves very well. My only (very minor) complaint is that they accidentally removed the exhaust hose from my dryer, when they moved it, and we had to reattach it the next day.

They provided a quote for radon detection. If I do it, it is going to be like $900. They came out about a week or two later. I like the fact that they came over and the guy was friendly and courteous. He told me a little about radon and how it gets into the basement and how it leaks out and what they will do fix that. He talked about the levels of radon. It was very informative. I would use them again.

We bought the Angie's list big deal for radon inspection and $100 credit
towards reduction if necessary.  We used them for inspection but not to
do the required reduction as we found another provider who was
substantially less even after applying the credit we had.

    ALL CLEAN RESTORATION SERVICES
Doug is great to work with.  He was very responsive, providing us with a timely estimate for the services and showing up to complete the work when he said he would.  He called us with any questions or to discuss details and even took photographs as the work progressed to show what was being done.  The only small complaint I have is that he didn't color match the paint he used to repaint the wall and so you could easily tell that the wall had been repaired and repainted once it had dried.  In fairness, we had trouble color matching the exact color ourselves - it wasn't exactly a standard color.

    24-7 Restoration
The 24-7 crew was great, in particular Erick Halverson. They worked late hours and on Christmas to ensure everything was done properly and aligned with our insurance company. They were always available to answer questions, give advice, and generally help out during a rough time. Highly recommended.

They came by promptly and gave us a kit, when a second kit was requested they delivered it promptly also free of charge.
When the test results came back indicating mitigation was suggested we scheduled a day for them to install the mitigation system.  They showed up on time.  Installed a system that has been working great for 6 months.  The only thing I didn't love about this experience was that the pipe is raw PVC and it was not made clear to me it was going to have to vent at roof level such that there is a roughish patch of concrete (I expected it to be smooth) surrounding the unsightly pipe I knew was going to appear in my basement and a significantly unslightly pipe running up the side of my house right where you see it pulling into my house.  I just wish they had described what the installation would look like when they were asking me where I wanted it, specifically sometime before the hole was drilled in my basement floor because having it discussed (which they did do) after the hole was drilled but before the pipe was installed above didn't do me a lot of good.   I would have put it against the other wall had they communicated the height of the exterior pipe.

Our level went from 13.9 pCi/L pre-mitigation to 0.7 pCi/L post-mitigation.  While the work was effective, we found some parts of their work not so good - sloppy, really.
As expected, they foam-sealed all the accessible floor-to-wall seams in the unfinished portions of the basement, but they made a quite a mess of that foam.  Not just where they used it, but smearing it on other parts of the basement.  For the part of the pipe going through the wall to the outside, they wedged it against our watering system's vacuum breaker, and they seemed to be suprised about it when I pointed that out to them, almost as if they didn't see that they had done that.  Its going to be difficult to drain the vacuum breaker in the future because the radon pipe nearly blocks one of the outflows for it.  And I'm in for some potential extra expense whenever I have to replace the vacuum breaker because it will probably need to be repositioned, and I'm not very happy about that at all.  They also used a magic marker to mark the sides of the wall where they were looking at putting the hole through, instead of something that can be wiped off.  So now I have marks on my siding that are going to be there for a very long time - its vinyl siding, so painting over it isn't really an option.
All in all, they were honest and effective, but sloppy on the details.
If you decide to use them, you'll want to be around when they do the job and check in on them frequently, particularly when they are putting the pipe through to the outside.  If you think you want a company where you can just let them in and then leave the house for them to finish, you might want to find a different company because these folks needed a lot of guidance during the job.
