    Klair, Dr. Virginia A.
Dr, Klairs office staff are less than friendly. But she makes up for it in her care and attitude. I just wish she could have staff that are more "people" friendly... they are almost rude!

    Center For Sight
n .have been there several times over the last several years, because i have diabetes and need regular checkups. They have a variety of sus-specialists and have referred me to one when necessary, but not just to earn more fees. They have excellent equipment and do a very thorough job of examining my eyes each time. The doc also reminds me of the things I should be doing to save my vision. i think all their docs are extraordinarily competent, and they have good personalities.

    Schwartz, Dr. Amy L.
Dr. Schwartz's practice is excellent in having available times, running some evening and weekend hours to help people fit schedules. They do not waste your time. We have never waited more than 5 minutes beyond our scheduled appointment before having the appointment actually start, much better than any other healthcare or eyecare professional we have gone to. Dr Schwartz does an excellent job of comprehensive eye health checks (I know because I have had glasses/contacts for 35 years and have had several different providers), and does very well explaining any issues that come up. Very reasonably priced for the eye check.Glasses are somewhat expensive though typically priced for a small town in Colorado.

    Ehrlich, Dr. Matthew
I first made an appointment with Vail Vision to do my annual eye exam and I was immediately turned off by all of the doctors and the entire practice. They were VERY pushy, uninformed, relied on technology and not actual skills or knowledge to perform the appointment - I was incredibly unhappy with my experience there, and wanted to go somewhere that actually knew what they were doing. After talking to some long time locals, they recommended Eye Center of the Rockies, which, even though it was a further drive (Eagle instead of Edwards), it was absolutely worth it. Eye Center of the Rockies has been accommodating to my schedule (early morning appointments so I don't miss too much work, and appointments within a few days of me calling), communicate well and professionally, know what they are doing in the practice - none of which I can say the same for Vail Vision in Edwards. If you live in the Vail Valley, do not go to Vail Vision! It is a huge waste of time and money, and the people working there are unhelpful, pushy and will not provide you with the proper care/service you need for your eyes. Instead, go to Eye Center of the Rockies - it may be a slightly longer drive but trust me, it is worth it.

    Icon Lasik
I found Icon Lasik online while searching for local Lasik surgery centers. I read their reviews and made an appointment online very early in the morning. At 8 am that morning I received a call to set up the appointment and confirm my request. The next same day surgery appointment availability was two weeks out. That was fine with me because they want you to stop using your contacts for at least a week prior to your surgery date. I found out during my consult that in the Grand Junction office they do the surgeries on the second Tuesday of every month. The doctors in the office are great. They listen and that is extremely important to me. My eyes are very sensitive to the solution they use to dilate your eyes and only need one drop to do the job. If more than one drop is used, my eyes remain dilated for the rest of the day. I let the doctor know that and he used only one drop, just as I requested. My consult was very thorough. They used the same equipment that the Mayo Clinic used on me in Jacksonville every year during my annual exams there and that also impressed me. My consult was free and the service was excellent. They quoted my price, explained the touch up options, they gave me my prescriptions for the drops, and even gave me a prescription discount card since I had no insurance. That card saved me $10 on the drops at Walgreens. The scripts only cost me $32. Four hours after my consult I was in the chair having the surgery performed. It was quick, less than 15 minutes total, painless, you only feel pressure during the surgery not pain, and the initial results were no less than dramatic. I could actually see faces the second I sat up in the chair. My vision was initially foggy, and they explained why, the fluid builds up in your eye during the surgery and will absorb in a short time. They checked the flaps using a microscope and had me wait for about ten minutes before releasing me. You need to keep your eyes shut for two hours following the surgery so you do need a driver. And believe me, your eyes are tired so thats not a problem at all. After that initial two hours, I could see very well and it just kept improving as the hours ticked on. The next day my eyes were tired and napped for part of the day. My vision just kept improving. The following morning you have another exam and its an important one. They check your flaps again and your sight. I read the 20/30 lines with ease and made one mistake on the 20/15 line in one eye. It takes up to three months for your eyes to settle in with the correction and any retouches can be done at that time. You have check ups the next day, one week, one month, three months, six months and one year following the surgery. All of that is covered in your price. Overall, I highly recommend this office for your consult and surgery. They quit counting at 150k surgeries and the success rate is about 98%. Best $2200 I have spent. Just do it. It has been life changing for me already. I donated my remaining contact lenses and my glasses to their charity drive too. I don't need them anymore and they can help someone who does! A heartfelt thanks to Icon Lasik!

    Lew-Goltz, Dr. Joanne
I found Dr. Lew-Goltz to be matter-of-fact, friendly, extremely professional, and conservative in her treatment in that she didn't push updating a prescription when the change was minimal. Also, she does NOT push glasses frames as she is not affiliated with a retail glasses outlet. She simply gives you the new script to use wherever you choose. I have to monitor several eye conditions as they develop or 'may' develop. I trust her completely to carry out this oversight.
