    Ethos General Contractors LLC
Nick was up on my roof for a while and when he came down he showed me pictures he had taken of certain parts on the roof and pointed out deficiencies in my last roof install from 3 years earlier. Hmmm, no one else had done that. I told him I had a ventilation problem as the builder had not actually put in attic vents in the eaves, just vent covers. Yeah, somebody took a shortcut and this was not resolved in my previous reroofing as they really didnt know how to handle it. Nick then went on to show me a new passive venting system that would resolve that problem at a nominal cost. He also said I could have my attic reinsulated for a very reasonable cost, since when they were up there they could do that right from the outside by taking a plywood sheet off and blowing in new insulation. Wow, my time-consuming hassle just turned into an opportunity. In short, he blew me away with his attention to detail and product systems knowledge. This guy wasn't just phoning it in, and it wasn't just a "Trust Me" deal, he knew more than any of the other roofers I had talked to and really solved my roof and insulation problems. Yes, it was messy and noisy as all roofing is but in the end I got a new properly ventilated hail resistant roof and a reinsulated attic for a very reasonable cost. Most of the time I take on home repairs myself as I have found that the cost, trouble, and poor workmanship of hired contractors usually leaves me dissatisfied. Nick Anest and Ethos are a rare bright spot in this business. They answer questions promptly on email and text and follow up. And he didnt drop me and addressed all my issues and questions even after the job was done, resolving them to my satisfaction. I have no reservations in recommending them as a good and honest business that does what they say they will. And no, I am not some shill reviewer, this all really happened.

    The Insulation Guys
Chuck arrived on time during the three days he worked for us, was extremely polite and pleasant to work with. He patiently explained the process and got to work. It was clear that he and his crews get along and he treats them with respect. He made recommendations based on his findings and he and his crew cleaned up after finishing. I would highly recommend him!

    Sunlight Contractors
Sunlight Contractors went outside of box and used their closed cell spray foam to help me create a floating dock system.

Tulane University's rowing team needed a dock that was close to the water to allow an easy launch and retrieval of their boats. I designed a plan and Sunlight Contractors came to my location and sprayed 6" of closed cell spray foam to the underneath of platform. Over a year later, the dock is floating just as it did on day one, 6" on top of the water!

Tulane's crew coach told me it's the nicest dock system they've used! He then went on to say it's nicer than Harvard's floating dock system, it's super easy for the launch and retrieval of their boats!

    The Insulation Guys

Most contractors over promise and under perform - that was entirely opposite my experience.  From the initial request for estimate through the prompt completion of the project - I was very, very impressed.   Ten days later I only wish that we would have hired these guys two years ago when we bought the house.   The house today is entirely different, more balanced, more comfortable, MUCH warmer than before the project.   Money well spent!

They sent me a rebate, and they were very good. They came when they said they were going to, they did their work, they were professional, neat and they made an effort to not make a mess. I was very impressed with what they did.

    Stellar Windows and Insulation
The installation part was a follow up to the energy audit I purchased from them about a month ago. When the auditor team came out, they went through several tests and out of the report, I picked the most cost-effective way to lower temperature to reduce cooling costs. The report recommended additional roof vents and new soffit vents.
When the installer for the vents came out, the guy suggested that I had enough roof vents and only needed soffit vents--8 to 10 to help airflow and let hot air escape from the attic.   This is not what the energy audit recommended and this leads me to believe that the audit was incorrect (the audit cost $100). If an outfit claims to be an expert at energy audit and then the installer comes out to disagree with the audit report, this is troubling. They sure need to get their act together.
I decided to just install the soffit vents and the installers finished the job in about an hour charging me $65 per vent.
I should have used other contractors to install soffit vents since the job involved simply cutting into the ceiling panel and screwing cheap vents--not a complicated work.  I thought the installation cost was too much and I could have used different contractor to do the same job for at least 33% or more less.
I sent off an email to Stellar detailing how I was disappointed; someone called and left a message to address my concerns; I called back and left my message so that we can talk but I never heard back from Stellar again.
My advice to those who are thinking about using Stellar for energy audit or installation is to look at other companies and check reviews and skip Stellar.  But if you do hire Stellar to do the energy audit, have someone else do the installation work.

    Stellar Windows and Insulation
Two individuals came out and performed a very thorough home energy audit.  A week later they followed up with a sales call to present the findings in the report and sell services to address the problems they observed.  The sales call was very low pressure and presented a solution to the problems observed.  We will perform some of the recommendations ourselves (swapping out CFL and LED lightbulbs) and allow Stellar to preform some of the recommendations regarding extra insulation, weather stripping and caulking.  We had done a home energy audit in the past and the reports were fairly similar in the findings, the nice thing about Stallar was that they then gave me an alternative to deal with the findings rather than me having to chase down another contractor to deal with the findings.

    The Insulation Guys
Showed up 15 minutes earlier than the appointment time. Didn't dilly dally around and got right on it. Asked me check out what they had done and went above and beyond by sealing around can lights in the attic that were installed when we remodeled and made sure insulation was in the eaves. No extra charges. Lived up to their reputation!!!!

He was very nice. Actually, he lived close by and he came by on time. He was really quick and he got back to me right away. He was prompt. He did what he said he was going to do. I felt that he was pretty honest and upfront. He was great. He knew what he was doing.

    Energy Geeks
My condo was poorly insulated and Energy Geeks upgraded the quantity. The saleman, Logan, was very professional and gave me a good estimate and deducted the XCel rebate so that I did not have to go throuth the hassle. The installers did a great job. They arrived at the time they said they would and were nice enough to explain the process to me. They were fast and took great care to not leave a mess. After they were gone, there was no trace of dust or particles. Great cleanup job! This winter I look forward to spending less in heating the condo. I would certainly recommend Energy Geeks.
