    1. First, Dave tried to upsell me to tile the entire backspash around my kitchen at a quoted price of $850, rather than the small job I actually wanted. He finally agreed to tile the small area for a price of $250. I was clear about the time frame in which I needed the job completed and he assured me that as soon as my choice of tile arrived, he would be able to fit me in with no problem. All was good so far.
    2. When the tile arrived at Home Depot, Dave said he would not have time to do the job after all, and that besides, it was charity work. When I told him that I was confused because he had previously said he could fit me in with no problem because it was such a small job, he said the only day he could do it was a day I could not be at home. When I started to say I was uncomfortable with that because everyone who has ever worked at any house I owned always had questions for me that they did not anticipate before-hand, Dave interrupted me after "I am uncomfortable with that because." He started ranting about how if I could not trust his business within my house that he didn't want to work for me. When he settled down, I told him what he had prevented me from saying previously. He then started on a rant about how he had worked on houses all over town and if I didn't trust his professionalism, then he did not want to work for me. I should have dropped him at this point. Instead, I said that I don't have a problem with the reviews I had seen on Angie's list, but I just needed to have every question addressed before they planned to come to work. Dave then agreed to do the work.
    3. When he came over, he apologized profusely for his outbursts, blaming a heavy work load. We discussed every possible issue we could foresee, and he planned to have his son come and do the tiling. All seemed to be good again at this point.
    4. When I got home the day the tile went up, I was horrified. The tile was obviously slanted. It was beautifully spaced in an offset pattern, but the entire pattern tipped slightly to one side. Over the 30" width, the tile tilts 1/4" vertically. This translates into about 1" of tip for every 10 feet of tile, or at least 1" over an entire width of counter. After Dave's previous outbursts, I was uncomfortable calling him; however, tipped tile is a problem for me. So I called. I told him I hated to make the call, that the tile was beautifully spaced in the offset pattern, and that I really hated to have to tell him that the entire pattern tipped. He asked to come out the next day, when I again would not be home.
    5. The next day, I received a call in which Dave told me that my counters and cabinets were tipped, but the tile was perfect. He told me he would not charge me for the job, and that I was welcome to post a review on Angie's list . He stated that he would fight whatever I posted. He finished his call with a wonderful little insult, saying that he believes I have "serious mental problems."
    6. My handyman came by to review the tile for me. He and I used his 4' level to check the cabinets and counters: they are level. He agreed that the tile was not straight.
    7. I will be pleasantly surprised if Dave Hanson does not retaliate against me. He seemed very comfortable making accusations, insulting me, and threatening me. I find his behavior to be entirely unprofessional. Meanwhile, I'm left with a free, but slightly slanted tile backsplash.

A number of places on walls were missed.  Big problem was the floor.  W/in 3 days, streaks of paint was coming off where cats walked (claw marks). The existing enamel-based paint had not been roughed with sandpaper or treated to accept new latex paint.  (I had supplied sandpaper and would have purchased coating or treatment if it had been suggested.) I was told to stay off the new floor for 2 days, but I waited longer.   I called Top Quality, complained and was told they only would put another coat on. Knowing that I would have to take the surface coats off, I declined.  I had to remove 2 coats of new latex floor paint with chemical remover and scrapers, sandpaper old enamel paint, then reapply top coats.  I waited 30 days (per manufacturer's directions) before using the space.  It took this 70 year old gal 2 months to complete the job.  It cost me another $400 for supplies to redo their work

Ted Fossett is an excellent contractor. He provided a reasonable budget, but if we wanted something different we would negotiate a change order. The crews that he brought on the job were all very competent and professional. The carpenter team was especially proficient and professional with a wide variety of skills.
My wife and I are very pleased with the final result.

I was able to get a prompt estimate.  They came when scheduled (OK with me to come one week early).  Arrived on time and they were neat, courteous and professional.  Love the finished work in the shower.

The office staff at Tile Meister are great to work with, very friendly & helpful.  The installers were professional, showed up on time, installed the 2 tube lights in less than 2 hours and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend Tile Meister.

I've had people tell me before hiring him that if I needed any cabinets, flooring, whatever, to call this guy. He is very nice and extremely meticulous. Although he is meticulous, he is not slow, by any means. I would highly recommend this gentleman.

I've never had a problem with him or his work in 15 years.  I have used him at my home numerous times and also at other properties.  It's always good to have a picture or clear idea of what you are wanting for any person you are getting an estimate from .

    Hector's Creative Flooring
Bathroom: Hector told us he did bath remodels. Gave a bid and proceeded. The bath tiles were NOT lined up and were off centers, grout was missing and sloppy, edges were left unfinished around tub as well as vanity. Floor was not put in right and off centered as well! Sink plumbing broke under the cabinet causing water flood on main floor as well as downstairs. The toilet leaked and wont shut off resulting in a $50.00 water bill! He left the old plumbing behind the toilet sticking out and didnt drywall it up and texture it to match the rest of the room. We fired him and he still begged for money telling us of his ill health. The job took way longer than bid out but we wanted him out so we could muddle thru it. That is just up to date. We will now have to go thru everything checking what else is not correct with the project. I will never use this man again for any reason for anything!
Hardwood Floor: Another location: Bad flooring was used instead of putting it aside and using good wood resulting in peeled planks and rough edges in the floor. When asked to come back and replace or repair, he said it was just the floor and he couldnt do anything about it to call the floor salesman or manufacturer! He left it that way. Again, I will never use this man for any reason and anything!
I write this late but want to do what I can to make sure no one else is treated as we have been! Getting madder each time we have insident.

    The Tile Meister
The entire process was very easy and efficient. The estimator was very knowledgealbe and helped us locate the skylights so we get the maximum amount of sun in the areas we wantede. The two man crew showed up on time with all the necessary equipment to install the products. They were very friendly and professional. All of the work was preformed quickly, quitely ( as much as possible with power tools running). and they were very conscienceious about keeping the dust dirt etc to a minimum and than they cleaned up after the joib was complete. They vacummed the area and ran a dust cloth across the furniture etc.
We were very pleased with the overall process and would certainly use them again for this type of work or any other services theyprovide in the remodel/home improvement area.
