Money making machine. The vets (revolving door of 25 year olds) are probably trained on sales techniques. They took a vigorous 18 yr old cat who had an upper respiratory infection/viral infection, and we took him home as a disoriented, confused, agitated cat who will probably need to be euthanized. After 3 visits with no results in getting him over the respiratory infection, he was given 4 strong medications all because we asked them to give him something to help him sleep when we left him overnight ($1200). They initially gave him METHADONE (***?? An OPIOID to help him sleep??). My cat then had a seizure from the opioid (never had a seizure before), so they gave him something to reverse the seizure - Midazolam which is a benzo also used as a sedative. Googling opioid + sedative will result in very scary warnings about not mixing the two - kills people. Then they gave him naloxone to reverse the opioid, and flumazenil to reverse the midazolam. If that happened to a person, there would be a malpractice lawsuit. My cat is now out of his mind, just paces back and forth (for over 18 hours) from one water bowl to another - doesn't drink, doesn't eat, doesn't sleep, doesn't recognize us. Before and after the unbelievable amount of medications, we were recommended one diagnostic procedure after another - x rays, rhinoscopies, MRI's, CT scans, ultra sounds, neurology tests, steroids, antibiotics, anti-nausea, appetite stimulants. We did some of them and racked up a bill of $2,200. If we did all of it, it would have been over $5,000. Their answer is the medications they gave him are not causing the new problems - but they need to see him again to give a definitive answer - yeah right, just one more way to get $$$. They did a physical neurologic exam on him after giving him the seizure, said that he probably has some neurologic issues but without biopsy that it is not clear what the cause is - could be cancer, could be benign, could be bacteria. How anyone can do an accurate neurological exam after pumping opiods, sedatives and drugs that amp up his cortisol, and after having a seizure is beyond understanding. Again, just one more procedure to make money. He was a social cat 2 days ago who could jump, walk, and sleep. I'm beyond rage and heartbreak at what they did to him. They will cover their tracks and never admit responsibility.

I have lived in many places during my lifetime and being a multi-pet household, I have had many vets.  This clinic is by far my favorite.  I especially love Dr. Amy Hartman and Dr. Terry Stephens.  The caring and compassion shown to clients by these doctors and their staff is unparalleled.  Dr. Murdock and Dr. Celeste are wonderful, too.  Whether my pets are healthy and going to the clinic for wellness visits, sick and needing their help or having their final trip to the vet to be put to sleep, these folks are awesome.  I always feel that my pet is the most important pet they've seen that week, from the smiling and attentive receptionists who greet me to the technicians who take care of my pets to the vets.  Dr. Amy has helped me manage my 18-yr-old cat's kidney disease for 2 years, making sure that she has a good quality of life.  I'm so thankful to her for spending not only time at work but her personal time at home learning about new treatments, new tests, etc. and even e-mailing me, in order to give my pets the best care possible.  She has cried right along with me when providing a peaceful end to a suffering beloved pet. She is incredible.

I especially want to thank everyone at Evergreen Animal Hospital for their compassionate end-of-life care for my pets.  They have a very comforting, peaceful room just for euthanasias.  It's far removed from a typical exam room; it's a comforting and peaceful room with low lights.  Every person there is empathetic and genuinely caring.  They even provided me with a packet of lovely poems and helpful information about grieving, bound in a booklet with my pet's name printed on the cover.  It gave me much comfort and even educated me on how to talk to my children about their beloved companion's death.

They have their own crematory which made me feel so much more secure in leaving my dog's body there for a private cremation.  I knew I would be getting my dog's ashes back, and only his ashes.

It's wonderful to have my pet's hospital also serve as the community's 24-hour emergency clinic.  I never have to go anywhere else.

I am really excited to hear that they are branching out to offer house call visits, sending Dr. Amy out on house calls so that they can offer pet care to more folks than ever.

They have treated several generations of beloved family animal companions over the past 20 years, from simple wellness visits to complicated surgeries and chronic and terminal diseases, including cancer and kidney failure.? They also have their own crematory and have cremated several of my pets.

It went really well. Dr. Bub is the best! I believe that Dr. Bub is a dog whisperer who can quickly assess pets ailments. While under sedation, my dog had his teeth cleaned and Dr. Bub removed a large tumor which was originally thought to be a cyst. The tumor was analyzed by the lab and Dr. Bub quickly called to give me the good news that the tumor was benign! My dog is still under his care until removal of his sutures this week. I will take my dog back near the end of month to get his rabies shot. Mesa Veterinary Hospital always follows up the night before the procedure, right after the procedure and always asks me to call with any question. They offer late hours for people who work from 8-5 pm. They are also AAHA certified which tells me that their rooms, medical areas and storage areas are inspected regularly in order to maintain that certification and to meet high standards. I would highly refer others to Mesa Veterinary Hospital for all their pet needs.

They were phenomenal. I must have called six different vets and I got put on hold or they wouldn't call me back. This Saturday afternoon, it was really an emergency. There were places open but they were just so rude and hung up. I called Evergreen Animal Hospital and they spent five minutes on the phone with me and told me to get over as fast as I possibly could and that they would work me in. They spent 4 hours in that office and took really good care of my dog. They got him on the road to recovery within a 24 to 48-hour period. They pointed off all the lab work and made sure that I had an extra copy for my vet. I don't think they charge for emergency services but we were there for a long time and they had to do a lot of stuff to him. He was horribly sick but they got him feeling better.

My grandfather was a veterinarian, and he always lamented the shift over time to more expensive and unnecessary tests/procedures.  Doug Hill at Golden animal hospital is a more traditional vet. He pairs an immense knowledge of veterinary medicine with a lot of common sense restraint against what I've seen elsewhere.
Not only is Golden Animal Hospital cheaper than other vets, but I trust Dr. Hill in a way I haven't trusted any other veterinarian since my grandfather.

I brought one of my dogs and one of my cats for their yearly vaccination.  It went very well.  The clinic is crazy during this time but only because there are a lot of pets in the lobby.  The staff is very efficient in getting the animals in and out as quickly as possible. Dos: If you have moe than one dog, have two people to help handle them.  It's hard to do paperwork while trying to hang on to your animals and keep them away from others.   i've used this vet office for many years.

The proceedure went excellent but we expected this as we have been clients for over 14 years!  We love the staff and the vets as they are always caring, compassionate and very knowledgeable!  They are a little pricey...but you get what you pay for.

A wonderful vet, we hardly ever have to sit for more than a minute (literally) if that in the waiting room. Very caring, they don't rest till your pet feels better, with follow up calls to see how things are going. It's a little expensive, but you're clearly getting excellent service and care for your pets.

It was stellar.  The surgery was $4,000 and another $500 in followups.  It was an emergency kind of thing, they did an outstanding job, the whole staff there did a stellar job, it's an excellent place, has all kinds of specialists, there was a surgeon, 2 internists, and a nutritionist.  The cost was a little high and they may have ways of dealing with people who can't spend $4,000 on dog surgery.  If you're going to spend $4,000, you want an excellent job, versus someone spending 3,000, and the surgery failing.  I can't imagine they would send you home with a dog that was going to die.  I figured if I spent $4,000, took it out of savings, the next person couldn't, so, I feel like I'm passing it on.  It was an amazing job and they did extensive followup.  In fact, I'll take him in so they can visit with them.  I give them high ratings and will continue to go there in the future if needed.
