    A Better Sewer Inspection LLC
The tech arrived on time looking very professional. He listened to what I had to say then went to work. After finished my plumbing system runs faster with no back ups. And he left the bathroom clean which pleased my wife. Would I use them again, with out a doubt and I already referred them to my friends.

Two courteous Inspectors came on time, did a throurough inspection of house and systems, gave a verbal overview of results, answered my questions and sent a very detailed written report next day. The same company arranged a sewer scope, which turned up sewer almost blocked with tree roots etc.. Very knowledgeable, professional, patient. Will hire them for my next house purchase, too, as this one did reveal too many problems for me to fix. Very glad I had the inspection!

arrived on time. though close by they charged me $25 extra because of my zip code. did not like that.snaked the drain. the standpipe needed a $10 part but they said i needed a new connection so $300 more later all was done. i thought the technician was lax on putting on booties to go on the carpet to get to the crawl space and had to keep reminding him. over all a B.

Master Blaster Plumbing & Drain LLC
After two bad experiences with this company in less than 24 hours I think other people should hear about it.
I purchased the $55.00 deal since this company had great reviews to run a scope on a house I'm about to buy. They were very accommodating when I called to ask if they could do a specific day and time before I purchased the Angie's List deal and even had one of the plumbers, Todd call me directly to verify with his schedule. He was very friendly and nice. After setting up a time, I called back a few days later asking if we could move the appointment 1/2 hour back (still 3 days before scheduled appointment) which dispatch said wouldn't be a problem.
The day of the scheduled appointment I waited with my realtor for over an hour and decided to call and see how much longer it would be since we needed to get out of the house so the owner could come back. Dispatch said the appointment had been canceled and had Todd call me directly again. He apologized profusely for the mistake and again was very kind. He said he would work with my schedule and come out whatever time would be convenient, so we set something up for the next day. At this point I was frustrated but understood that we're only human and mistakes happen.
The next day another plumber, Peter showed up right on time. He was very nice as well...however he didn't have a ladder so he was going to have to send someone else out in order to get on the roof to scope through the vent. Luckily the homeowner let us use her ladder. Then, he asked my real estate agent's assistant to get up on the roof to run the scope since Peter had a broken foot. He also said if I wanted to have the scope go all the way to the public line I would have to take the toilet off myself and pay to have someone come out AGAIN and run it through there. At one point he said the scope wouldn't go any further, but the realtor kept telling her assistant to keep going and I'm so glad she did! They found a blocked area not too far after...which wouldn't have been discovered if we would have quit when he said so.
I'm a first time home buyer and haven't been through the scope process before, so I probably would have trusted his opinion to stop when he said it wouldn't go further, then wouldn't have discovered the block in the sewer line.
Again, Peter was very nice and I felt sorry for him for having to deal with this on a broken foot.
However, considering they dropped the ball on my appointment yesterday, then sent a guy who wasn't fully equipped to get the job done, and then sent my realtor's assistant up on the roof to do the job all within less than 24 hours really grinds my gears. If it had been just the mess up with scheduling OR sending a guy who shouldn't have been sent I would have given them another chance and probably would have trusted them to do the repair. (an estimated $2,500)
I'd rather have paid another company $100.00 to get the job done right the first time and not cause such a hassle for myself, the seller, my realtor, and her assistant (who should get the $55.00 since he did most of the work and risked getting on the roof!) than save a few bucks on a supposed deal. They also didn't do the whole house visual inspection that the deal says they would do.

    **Update 8/16/13**
I had the video of the sewer line reviewed by another plumber recommended by my real estate agent who said the repair Master Blaster recommended wouldn't have fixed the problem. Since there's not a lot of fall in the ground, replacing the blocked area probably wouldn't have made a difference. To have a plumber turn down a job because he knows it wouldn't fix the problem makes me trust him even more.

    **Update 8/25/13**
I've been in contact with the manager of the company who has been very easy to talk to and understanding and am happy with their customer service for what it's worth, but I still wouldn't use this company again.

Repaired a compromised cast iron pipe (50 years old) under our house's foundation, accessed from a crawlspace.  Very difficult work.  They did great.  After they were done, I asked to see it scoped (the only way to inspect the work at that point, since 99% of the job was buried.  They didn't flinch -- they got the camera and monitor out and ran the camera through the line without balking.
They had also modified the drain line feeding into it, removing two 45 degree bends to make the whole line a steady slope.  I'm very pleased with the work.  The alternative approach to the fix would have been jack-hammering through our finished basement and/or tearing apart walls to re-route the line.  I'm so glad they fixed it the way they did, going in a little farther than they had to, to get in far enough to get past the worst part of the pipe to a point where they could attach new pipe.
They did all that the day after clearing roots from our main drain line, using the double clean-out they installed in 2011.  That was a great job, too, where they dug to the main line in the front lawn and installed cleanouts that go both directions.   Excellent work.  I highly recommend them.

    Apex Plumbing Inc
Called Apex for a clogged kitchen drain as I'd used them before for other plumbing services and was very happy.

Keith came up on short notice and quickly diagnosed the problem as a typical kitchen clog and cleared the line.

Both times I've used Apex Plumbing I've been very impressed with their professionalism and responsiveness.  AND their prices are reasonable.

The receptionist was polite and helpful. They came out right when they said that they would and the price was reasonable. The repair man was clean cut and very polite. He told us what each repair would cost and how long it would take. He was right on with his estimate. We would use again.

    Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric
We had sewage come up into our basement because the main line out of the house was clogged. We called Applewood around 6AM and they were able to come out 4 hours later - though they were an hour later than they had told us. The drain was cleaned and the gentleman who did the work was very professional. However, we were told that we should replace the piping from the house to the city main and the quote he gave us was outrageous. He also quoted a couple other plumbing jobs that he had noticed weren't done quite right, and those quotes were also really high! We ended up looking around and going with an excavating company for the outside job instead, but had we paid what Applewood quoted we'd have been had! The $400 that was just to get the pipe clean enough for the time being so that we could use our water again without filling the basement with sewage.

Dennis called 1/2 hour in advance to inform me he was on his way, as I had requested. He honored the $25 coupon; normal charge is $127.50. Was very professional, pleasant, got the job done & offered, as a courtesy, to inspect rest of exposed plumbing in basement; he pointed out potential issues. Also, tightened water valves at no charge. He cleaned up the work area well. Only slight problem was a nick in wood at bottom of stairs from the heavy machine. Would highly recommend this company.
