    Efficiency Revolution
Mark Rogers oversaw the entire project.  He is a very personable man and easy to work with.  He was punctual and efficient.  The whole thing took about 2-3 days and was a great help in evening out the temperature within the house.  The past year felt much better and more comfortable in all parts of the house.  I would highly recommend their work!

    The Insulation Guys
Working with Chuck was a great experience. Because of schedule conflicts, it took us a little while to connect and get appointments, but once we did, the service provided was top notch. Chuck was completely worth the wait! I had three quotes and Chuck came in on the lower end, but he wasn't the lowest. We chose him to perform the work because he was responsive and focused on doing the job right. Chuck provided helpful hints for reducing our energy costs based on a couple small things he pointed out during the initial consultation, which only furthered the value he provided. We are very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend The Insulation Guys!

    AAA HOME IMPROVEMENTS
We hired AAA to do a total renovation on our house, a 1960's ranch. We signed the contract in March of 2011. The first thing they did was have the roll-off dumpster put in the driveway of the wrong house blocking our cars in! It took 8 hours to correct. Next they did the demo of the upstairs of the house fairly quickly. After that, it took nearly 3 months before they started to truly make any progress. I stopped by day after day and there was no one there. The excuses I got were: "we are too busy" or "we are waiting on permits" etc. Finally, as worked progressed, the "project manager" for our job was fired and replaced at least 3 times! It became clear how horribly managed this group was. The sub contractors and AAA were virtually never on the same page or gave the same answer to any question we had. Anytime something would go wrong, AAA would blame the contractors and vice versa. If not for my CONSTANT oversight and daily hammering on AAA, I do not believe this project would have been completed. Examples:
    • I specifically asked that the new swamp cooler be installed over the walk-in closest and NOT over the baby room. I made this extremely clear. I show up one day and the thing was almost completely installed over the baby room! They all pointed fingers at each other. With a hole in the roof and all the ventilation in place, they finally talked me into accepting it. Big mistake. Now that room has baby twins living in it and the swamp cooler is loud enough to wake them.
    • Another example: they installed brand new storm windows throughout the house. The caulking looked as if it had been done by 5 year old children. There has been cracking around the windows constantly ever since installation. Complete disaster. I ended up having a major dispute with AAA about this issue.
    • Some of the "subs" AAA hired were SKETCHY. This one guy showed up one day, wreaked of alcohol and had clearly been beaten by someone pretty bad. I asked what the deal was and he said "I had a fist fight with my girlfriend last night....". I had to ask him to leave.
I could go on and on about the project and lack of professionalism but I want to explain what happened with AAA's owner, Toby Hertel, at the end of the ordeal. As the project neared completion, he insisted on final payment BEFORE all the work was done and BEFORE I was completely satisfied. I refused to pay until I was completely satisfied as I assume most people would do. We had already paid well over $200,000 for this renovation and owed less than $15,000. Yet he insisted on payment despite the fact that the work was not completed to our satisfaction. I finally had to threaten to call Tom Martino's Trouble Shooters Network (remember them?) which AAA was part of back then. Finally, after another needless delay lasting weeks, Toby capitulated, finished the work and I paid him.

Most recently, one of the vanity sinks that AAA installed in 2011 suddenly fell out and landed in the cabinet below. So, I emailed AAA's owner, Toby Hertel. He wrote back and admitted that it was very unusual for this to happen, he admitted that he had to fire the guy that put it in AND he said "it is an easy fix". But then he said he would not fix it free of charge because "I was not a happy customer".....??? I ended up spending $300 to fix it. The stone fabricator that fixed it said: there were no clips/fasteners holding the sink to the granite, the granite had not been properly cleaned before the sink was installed, there was NO caulking done at all and they used the wrong type of adhesive to attach the sink in the first place. He said we were lucky the sink held up as long as it did. (BTW, I found the stone fabricator on Angies List!)

Bottom line: I would NEVER hire AAA Home Improvements again nor recommend them to anyone. I agree with other posts on Angies List about AAA. When it comes to getting paid, AAA is VERY PROMPT! There is a reason why companies like AAA do not have good marks on Angies List and it starts at the top!

    Arvada Insulation
Oh my goodness! We are in the middle of many home improvements right now, but I've got to say that getting Phil from Arvada Insulation to blow in insulation and improve the existing insulation in our attic is, hands down, the improvement that has most positively affected our quality of life. Our upstairs has an addition that was built over our garage, and that whole area of the house used to be FREEZING (and very hot in the summer). Our electric bills were regularly $400 per month, and it was still freezing. Getting the proper insulation was absolutely the best $1000 we have ever spent on the house. We have not even turned on the heater on many days (and even nights) since it has been done. The whole house is finally comfortable! The difference in "before and after" comfort levels continue to amaze us every day. Thank you Phil!

    GS Exterior Experts
Not only did Keith get out to the house the day I contacted him to put together a bid, he arranged his schedule to start the job immediately.  The crew showed up promptly on Monday morning and began working furiously.  They had the job done in a less than a week and it turned out beautiful.  Keith was always available for consultation and made several smart decisions regarding specific trim detail when I was not able to be on site.  I would most certainly recommend GS Exteriors for any home improvement project.

    Stellar Windows and Insulation
After doing an energy audit for the home we bought in Evergreen, CO, Stellar recommended an insulation upgrade and sealing around all windows and doors.  This all electric house had a high electric bill each month in the winter.  We scheduled Stellar to come in to do the upgrade and sealing.  Their very professional crew arrived on time on the scheduled date and set immediately to work.  Around mid-afternoon the crew lead called in another crew to help them finish by end of day since t was taking longer than planned.  The two crews worked until after 7:00 PM to finish the work.  I was not charged for the extra labor.  The results of the upgrade and sealing has significantly lowered our electric bill (> 20%).  I would use Stellar again and in fact plan to when I am ready to replace some of the older windows with energy efficient triple pane windows.

    The Insulation Guys
The Insulation Guys beat our other quote while delivering excellent service. It's a relatively small operation, but the communication was very professional, and the results were great. Our house was noticeably more comfortable. They delivered beyond our expectations.

    Remcon Cleaning and Restoration
Their work was impeccable.  They made every effort (and succeeded) at completing the entire job in time for Thanksgiving, going out of their way to work overtime to get it done.  Larry Pearce knows his stuff, and gives honest, realistic advice.  He asked questions, listened, offered great advice and then made cost-effective recommendations.  He and his crew were professional, polite and hard-working.
I would recommend RemCon to anyone in the Denver Metro area who has flood damage or any type of abatement or restoration work needed.  They've been doing this for years, and it shows.  They know their stuff, and they know how to provide top notch service.  Customers come first with them.

    GB3 Energy Solutions
It went very well.  Sabor and Trevor did the insulation work and an electrician installed the fan all supervised by Chris over a two day period.  They did a good job and cleaned up well afterward.
