    Fort Collins Granite Repair, LLC
We had to repair a crack in the front of an under-mount sink. The granite over the sink was cracked at the time of the original installation years ago. After seven years it cracked again and there were a half dozen other edge chips that needed attention. FC Granite repair was very professional and supported the repair area under the granite with metal. They then ground down the granite until it was smooth. They filled and smoothed the edge chips, sealed and then polished the granite. Thank you, Fort Collins Granite Repair.

It went really well. Projects were completed in a timely fashion despite several minor complications which were handled in a professional manner (ie. A separate 20 amp line was required for the exhaust fan heater and deciding where to run the drain pipe for the utility sink). Matt and his crew and sub-contractors were all pleasant and willing to accommodate our particular preferences.

.,It went great!! Jim's what ever it takes work ethic was awesome to work with. As most remodels go there are unexpected issues and new add on ideas as you go. Jim and his assistant's did a great job and had good ideas as well. The house was a challenged because I wanted a unique look that required a lot of custom hands on work. The slate floors, showers and counter tops were not an easy install. Jim spent a lot of time on them and took pride in the finished product. They are stunning!!!! It blows people away when they enter the house. The bathrooms are jaw dropping, all the slate work, custom sinks and plumbing turned out incredible. I have to add that Jim is the most even tempered contractor I've ever worked with. The Jacuzzi tub alone, which had to be custom fitted into a corner surrounded by of course slate tile had to be pulled in and out 3 times to get the plumbing and motor to fit properly. This job alone would have put most guy's over the top. The house turned out spectacular.

Jackie was so good to work with! She was always prompt to get back with me when I had questions.  We have never had granite before so this whole process is new to us. Jackie helped me all along the way and was so pleasant to work with.  I got bids from several places and Granite and Tile Design in Denver was by FAR the best price.  They sent out a  templater who was very knowledgable and helpful.  The granite was ready for installation even before our floors were finished. GTD was very accommodating in installing when it best suited us. Since this is the first time for us to have granite, I did not realize that some granite is more porous than others.  Apparently the granite we selected  was more porous and not as smooth as glass when finished like I assumed it would be.  The granite looks great but if I ever do it again, I will be sure to make sure the granite is not so porous that it can't be finished like glass.

We are very happy with the finished work. Mike provided several options with various cost levels and the pro/cons of each. We chose the more complete options since we plan to live in the house for many years. But Mike provided lower cost options if we wanted to save on costs. This spec home was built with a carpeted stairway "kit" that was clearly substandard. The entire stairway was removed and re-built from scratch. That was the single biggest component of project. Carpenter Steve was a real craftsman and did an outstanding job with the solid wood stairway with numerous mitered cuts. It looks so much better than before. The solid wood flooring also looks great. Tile in master bath and counters with sinks, new light fixtures also great improvement. We did not seek bids from others since we were primarily concerned with quality workmanship over cost. We felt we could trust Mike to give us quality workmanship at a fair price. We would use him again for any future project. We give him our highest recommendation.

    Kirk Fondy: Remodeling Contractor
Very positive experience using Kirk for our kitchen remodel.  Our kitchen had not been updated since 1980.  We had a tentative date to start on 9/20, but he had an exterior job that he had to finish and pushed our start date to 10/21.  However, once he got started he really stayed on task and put in some serious hours to finish the project before our deadline of Thanksgiving.
We had a kitchen with a wall separating our family room from the kitchen.  He tore out the wall, moved the cabinets that were at the base of the wall into the kitchen 3 feet.  Then he moved the A/C intake from the wall to the new island.  He then scraped the popcorn texture off of about 600 square feet of dining room, living room, entry way and hall ceilings.  Re-textured, painted and patched the ceilings so they look constant throughout the great room.  Then he rearranged the cabinets to make our dishwasher work on the right side of the sink (it was incorrectly installed on the left side when built).  He was there when the granite counter-tops were installed to make sure it all went perfect.  Then he installed an awesome back-splash in our kitchen, and laid Mexican brown tile in the kitchen floors, which was tough but he made a perfect seam along our current wood floors.
It looks amazing!  He was so courteous and professional.  We have a 6 year old and 2 year old twin boys, so he was always very cautious not to have nails and other dangerous items laying about.  He also was very mindful about keeping our kitchen functional over the month long process.  Even with all that we did we were only out of our kitchen for about 4 days.  Really great.
I would highly recommend him for your remodel work.  We have been so pleased.  He was also very fair on price and the quality that we got for the cost was hard to beat.
He can do it all.  Electrical, plumbing, A/C work, duct work, and just about anything you can imagine.
We have a shower we want to remodel and I would use Kirk again in a heartbeat for that project.
Overall, I give him an A+.  Only reason it would not be an A++ is because he had to start late due to his project he was working on before ours.

My experience with Avalanche Floor Coverings has been very good. We've met with them a couple of times and so far, I'm very pleased. They are very responsive. They have a lovely showroom so you can really see everything. The women there are very knowledgeable.

Overall I was not happy. First, I was relocating from the East Coast and I needed my house to have at least one livable space when I arrived. I was OK with the work not being completely done; I just asked that there be one bedroom and one bathroom that I could live in while the rest of the work continued. Well, when I arrived, none of that had been done. Not one of the toilets had been hooked up, not one sink, and there were carpet strips over all the house with the tacks exposed so I and my pets could not walk safely. I partly understand the carpet situation because the carpeting was backordered, but I had to have some place to live. I feel that Cornerstone could have put the old carpet back into one bedroom just to help me out. I had to board my dog and 3 cats because of this and also had to live at a friend's house for several days, which cost me a lot of money and inconvenienced my friend. Cornerstone did not offer to reimburse me. I also need to mention that their work on my carpet was shoddy and their response to my complaints was poor. After installation, I noticed that the edges on the carpet were fraying. When I asked about it, I was told "Oh, new carpets always fray. Just clip it off." Then when I was vacuuming a downstairs room, I noticed a large half-moon shaped gap between the carpet and the wall. When I put my hand into the defect to look at it, the carpet pulled right up off the floor. It had not even been tacked down. I tried all the edges and it was like the carpet had just been rolled out and that was it. They didn't seal the edges (thus the fraying), they didn't stretch it (thus the half moon cut edge) and they didn't even nail it down. It was literally just laying on the subfloor. When I complained again, the owner got a carpet repair specialist to come in and fix it, and he even commented on how poor the work was. I also had trouble with the owner taking responsibility for final touch-ups. There were places on the walls that hadn't been painted, the plumbers hadn't put caps over the large screws holding toilets to the floor, there were lots of little things like that. I asked several times for these things to be finished, and when the owner finally showed up, he was, OK I'll just say it, rude. With a heavy sigh, he said "OK, what do you need done?" then he just slapped paint on the wall and hurried through the rest. If I hadn't had such a bad experience with the carpet and the final touchup, I would give Cornerstone a good review. Other than those things, their work was good, especially the backsplashes, which are very well done. The problems I had and the hoops I had to jump through to get them resolved tainted the whole process, however. Because of that, I can't in good conscience give them a good recommendation.

Really well. It went on a bit longer than we expected but the quality of the subs was *exceptional* - I would hire any one of them individually for work. I felt Mike was excellent at putting the whole story together and helping us make trade-offs and get what we wanted. The overall solution was pricey. I think everything was done well with first rate materials, but I suspect I could have gotten nearly as good of materials for less. I doubt that I could have got as good of work for any less - I did have a chance to compare bids with a contractor who had done work for a family member. The other contractor's bid was quite a bit cheaper than Mike - but the quality of the work and the overall results were quite a bit lower too.

    McHugh Tile and Stone
We bought a house two years ago that had a recent (within the last two years before sale) bathroom remodel. Gorgeous travertine 5 piece master bath. Unfortunately last spring a leak in the dining room ceiling turned out to be from the shower in the master bathroom once the plumbers spent the afternoon tracking it to the source .  We had several estimates ranging from "band-aid" repairs to full demo and re-install from several local businesses. Matt McHugh gave a very professional and accurate estimate- did not downplay the extent of the damage from the failing shower.  His excellent project manager "Rick" oversaw the project - Rick was very courteous, approachable, and most importantly a talented craftsman. The project was done with minimal disruption to the rest of the house and our schedules, the project was completed on time, and the project turned out beautifully. Matt also sub-contracted out the dry wall repair for our dining room ceiling and we were very satisfied with that component of the job as well.
