  • Wonderful. He came on time. While I didn't climb up to see the final job, he showed me a picture and gave me some extra tips on care of the fireplace. He gave me great advice and also advised me how to buy the best flu cover for a good price.

  • It never happened. In fairness to the owner, he called to cancel our first appointment due to injuries sustained in an accident that morning, which seemed fair. The technician called an hour after our next appointment to say he "forgot" but was on his way, but it was too late for us as we had another engagement. The next appointment was a cancellation- the TECHNICIAN said he was in an accident this time- sort of a suspicious excuse. We rescheduled and the next appointment was a no show. In frustration, I called the company. The owner said he had fired the technician and was apologetic, but it seemed too little too late at our end and I requested a refund. The owner said he'd see what he could do get back to us but never did. When I tried again, left a message but did not get a response, I gave up. I wish the owner well, hope his injuries heal and that his business gets back on his feet, but I would urge caution. Thank goodness Angie's List issued us a refund.

  • It was all good. The tech Benny did what we bought from Angies List. He was polite and very helpful. he answered my questions and seemed very informed. If we need that type of service in the future we would probably call Custom Heating and air. At this time we are not in need of a furnace or air conditioner.

  • Keith, the technician, arrived on time, and got right to work inspecting the master fireplace to determine why the ignition kept going out - He was polite, answered all questions, and quickly made the determination that there was a faulty electrical switch - he had the part on-hand and made the fix. In addition, he performed an annual inspection of the overall system.  The artificial logs were not the correct logs - he researched the manufacturer's supply and determined they did not have these logs any more - in any case, this was a pleasant experience that resulted in a repair to our fireplace.  I will use Columbine Appliance for future service needs.

  • The technician cleaned out the fireplace inside and also cleaned the 2 pieces of gl***. It is a double sided gas fireplace. It looks nice again. He cleaned out the pilot light, which allowed the switch on the wall to work. Also checked for leaks. He was right on time and was professional and courteous. An overall great experience, and I would recommend Gas Connection to friends.

  • Paramount Remodeling Company, Inc. is a class act!  They executed as promised! They flawlessly coordinated with sub-contractors of our choice.  They performed all demolition, removal and construction in a professional and timely manner leaving the area(s) clean at the end of each work day.

    In both projects, we made changes and added items to each of the original contracts.  The total 'Cost' reflects those changes!

    We have recommended  recommend and plan to recommend Paramount Redevelopment Company, Inc.,

    'Max' Maxwell  and Levi Maxwell are straight and deal in an open fashion.  If we or they have a question or concern for the other, we merely asked for a conference and addressed the issuer(s) to mutual satisfaction!

    Paramount employees have been on time nearly 100% of time.  They have always been good workers and shown courtesy towards us, our family and visitors.

  • I actually started by inquiring at "a SAFE HOME Gas Fireplace Service" because they have so many excellent reports.  However, that company does not work as far north as Niwot.  However, they referred me to A Brighter Glow, so I called them.  The office person was very helpful, and was able to answer my questions knowledgeably.  We scheduled the visit for between 2 and 4 PM on 10/3.  About 11AM, Daryl called and offered to come early, as they had a cancellation.  Unfortunately, I had a previous engagement and could not take advantage of that.   However, they still showed up right about 2PM and got to work.  They thoroughly cleaned each fireplace, and also put down blankets to keep our carpets clean from any debris that might have been present.  As far as I could tell, they did an excellent job of cleaning.   The entire visit took a little over an hour, and although they were friendly, they were obviously very focused on their work and were quite efficient. 
    As for fixing the problems, one is clearly fixed.  One of the fireplaces would not light from the wall switch, but would light manually.  Daryl suggested that it was probably a failing thermopile which would exhibit this behavior.  So, he replaced the thermopile, and as expected the fireplace now works. 
    The second fireplace is more uncertain right now, but it is also likely to be fixed.  In this case, the fire would just go out, and then usually re-ignite itself.  If we turned off the switch and restarted it, it would come back on, but might go out again eventually.  Daryl suggested that in this case, it was likely a loose connection, and, when he had the panel off noticed that in fact a couple of wire nuts were not sized properly, and when those connections were wiggled, the fire would sometimes go out.  Despite this evidence, I asked that he go ahead and replace the thermopile since we are near the end of life for that, which he did.  At this point, we have not run the fireplace enough to be certain whether the intermittent issue is completely resolved, but it seems likely. 
    Overall, we are completely satisfied and happy to have our equipment back in functioning condition.

  • I wanted to get my fireplace inspected before I started using it this winter.  I found "A Brighter Glow" on Angie's List.  When I called he was very busy, so my appointment was scheduled out a couple of weeks.  As he was inspecting the fireplace he stated that the paint was worn off on the inside of the fireplace, and he went out to his truck, got some paint and painted it.  I told Darrell that my fireplace doesn't put out very much heat, and he suggested that I have a fan installed.  He had a fan in his truck, so I had him install it. 

    While he was at my house, my wife and son came home.  He was very pleasant to both of them.
