  • I interviewed several contractors before hiring Salvador and SGM Construction. I chose him because he gave me real prices, was straightforward, shared all of the details, told me what to expect, and was extremely professional. The project had a lot of moving parts and Salvador managed to stay on schedule, constantly communicated with me, always picked up the phone when I called, and completed the entire project with skill and integrity. I highly recommend him for any project large or small! The next time I need any remodeling done, I will call Salvador.

  • What I liked about the service was that it only took a day to install the countertops in the kitchen and bathroom; and the next morning the plumber arrived (on time) and installed sinks and faucets in 2 hours. Everything turned out very nice. Also, no surprise costs and the sales people encouraged finding better deals on sinks and faucets on the internet. What wasn't great was the wait between template making and install, which was almost a month and half. Must be the busy season, or maybe they could beef up their staff.

  • These guys were awesome! I had a sink fall off the granite counter top into the cabinet below. I found these guys on the list, called Mike and he sent his guys over that afternoon. Not only did they fix my sink better than it was before, they went through my entire house and made sure the other sinks were done correctly and caulked all of them!! These guys are all about service! I would hire them again in a New York minute! Thanks Mike!

  • The original day of installation they re-pulled the large Kitchen slab out to “trim” one side, then brought it back in only to find that the Sink hole was mis-cut. Additionally, one of the smaller slabs front edge was cut short from the other front edges. So all pieces were removed and taken back to the shop to be re-worked. They offered to replace everything in only 3 days, so GREAT turn-around time, but when the replacement slabs came back, the sink-base cabinet’s side wall and front cracked while re-setting the large slab. (The Cabinet installers were able to discretely mend, thankfully) Holes for the faucet and Soap dispenser were drilled about 1.5-2” back from sink edge. The smaller slabs across the kitchen were then set. Later we noticed, the small slabs were askew and the seam was TERRIBLY noticeable. On the third visit, installers came to re-do the seam and adjust the smaller slabs. They defended the poor seam color as result from not having a white colorant to mix into the material the day before - still, I want contractors to arrive my job with all materials needed to do the job right... Remember the faucet and Soap Dispenser holes that were drilled? Well, the faucet was smoothly installed but the bottle to the Soap Dispenser beneath the sink can’t be screwed in because heavy metal bracing used to hold up the sink (my previous home with quartz didn’t have such bracing to hold the sink) is blocking the bottle! If the holes had been drilled an inch further back the bottle would’ve cleared. Grrrr, so try explaining why the Soap Dispenser isn’t operative when we go to sell this home… Anyway, I texted the owner to see if the braces could be moved to the sides of the sink, or removed entirely – we just needed to trouble-shoot with him (he was paid in full at the installation of the counters of course) but found that we are blocked from the phone number and no response from the second phone number. Just thought if they had installed hundreds of sinks this may have come up in the past. It’s been a few months but now we see a “fission” in the quartz – it’s almost like a pencil line that is growing beneath the quartz, sigh. Due to stress between the walls, we don’t know. While they did some things very “right” when all was said and done, we don’t wish this experience and frustration on anyone else.

  • We got a reasonable bid, and Mitch and his office staff were very pleasant to work with. They had a good selection of granite. The work did not get started until about 10 days after we had originally been told it would be (meaning about 10 days of washing our dishes by hand in the bathroom sink before kitchen sink and dishwasher could be installed), but once they did it, they got it done in one day. It looks great, the work was high quality, the workmen were pleasant, and we have had no problems with the counters in the year since they were installed - they look beautiful. We would be happy to work with Art of Granite again. This final comment is nothing to do with Art of Granite, it would be true for any installer, and it's just a heads up for anyone contemplating new counters. We just didn't realize how long the smell of the adhesive would be apparent - it took about a month to air the kitchen out, keeping windows open and running the vent fans all the time.

  • The quality of fabrication is good but unfortunately Art of Granite makes promises they can’t keep. We went with their quote even though it was higher than others because they said they could get the job done on our timeline. We were hosting Thanksgiving and wanted to have a counter by then. The afternoon before Thanksgiving they finally admitted they wouldn’t be able to do it. At this point, the job was taking three times as long as they originally quoted us. The frustrating part is that they did not keep us informed. Several times they delayed the project but would not reach out to us for and update. I would always have to email, wait a couple days and then call them to find out its delayed yet again.

Another reason we went with Art of Granite is because the owner was so responsive up front. However, once they received a check, I stopped hearing from him. In the end, we like how the counter was fabricated and they ended up giving us a $150 discount but that was not worth the frustration in working with Art of Granite. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

  • Decided to redo master bath, which was cultured marble. Decided to use Denver Marble concepts, after going to the home show. The original walls were perfectly square before removing the old marble, the demo I did myself. After they finished with the new material, every wall is bowed and out of square in some places over a 1/4 inch. They replaced the marble on a seat in the shower which before was slanted for the water to run back into the shower, and now the water runs the opposite way. There are a few places in the marble where they sanded off the finish leaving a dull porous surface. When the glass company came out to measure for the frameless enclosure, they point out how bad the install was, and the glass install became more expensive, and compromised in some respects. The glass company did a amazing good job to fix the marble installers short comings, even having to remake at no cost a large piece of glass after measuring the job three times due to things being out of square. Final insult from the company was when I contacted them about the areas where they sanded off the finish, and the panels being out of square, and was told that when they did the install everything was square, but the drying adhesive must have pulled them out of square, and I should just go to Home Depot and buy a can of clear spray paint to touch-up the areas where they sanded off the finish.

  • I can't recommend M.D. of Duffy's Quality Flooring highly enough.  Terrific workmanship.  Extremely conscientious.  Very reasonably priced.  He has to be the best, most reliable, trades person I've ever hired.  If you need tile installed or any of the other services offered by Duffy's Quality Flooring, be sure to talk to M.D.

  • HORRIBLE!  If we could tell everyone in the metro area to not go there we would.
When the installers came to install we noticed the problem and called right away to find out what to do.  This was in April and we still do not have holes for our faucet cut and they never gave us our remnants that we requested and told they had multiple time.  After about three months we left multiple messages and no one will call us back now.  We filed a complaint with the BBB and we finally got a phone call in early July and they said that we couldn't get our remnants because they were "destroyed during fabrication" I told them that was B.S. because three people told us we could get them and that they probably sold them.  I've left messages for Andrew who is suppose to be in charge and he never even responded.  I can't even begin to say how terrible of a company they are.

  • The end product looks great.  Getting there was a disaster.  What was described as a small and easy one day job eventually turned into a three day schedule.  On two occasions even through I had confirmed the date and time they didn't show.
