    Please see above. The laptop is able to function as a back up now, thanks to the work Mark did. I wasn't under a large time crunch, so it worked well for me to have him take it and make sure he could address the issues. It is working much better now. Mark was very professional and always very prompt about returning my calls, etc.

    Sorry that I don't have exact date and cost, but I called several computer repair service providers and Brian gave me an accurate extimate on the phone (which most others I called would not quote me an estimate or the estimate was much higher than Geek St computers). Actual cost was as estimated, He offered to take my computer that day, gave me an accurate time frame for screen to come in which was correct and notified me when work was done. Location was not especially convenient, but easy to find with Brian's directions. Was worth the drive.

    I was visiting my aunt in Phoenix who had downloaded a miscrosoft program for windows 8. She downloaded it from the internet and didn't remember her password, she's 89. I called on a Sunday afternoon, NEVER expecting a call back until the next day. Don called within 10. I was shocked at how prompt he was and delighted he could help. He was going to need to come out and my aunt had to wait a month because she is on a fixed income. He was very easy to deal with. Very pleasant. Were relocating back to the valley adn will call him to help us set everything up!

    The service from PC Guy was pretty much a waste of time. He didn't real do what he was supposed to do. I wouldn't use him again, that's for sure. My need was to get my laptop up to speed. Essentially, he didn't do any of it. He formatted my hard drive and got that process started, but I ended up finishing the whole thing anyway. He didn't do any more than what I was going to do.

    This is the first review I've ever been compelled to write and I could easily make it ten pages about my experience, but the short answer... I learned that this family has already been put out of business once for bad practices and even though they've reopened under one son's name and changed the business name, they haven't learned their lesson & I hope the District Attorney goes after them again soon!

    I am in my 60's and do not have the energy or inclination to try to figure out all the information I needed for my Mac--I wanted someone to teach me.  Gary was prompt, extremely knowledgeable, and professional.  I had a list of questions and he was able to answer every one as well as solve some problems I was experiencing.  Gary is a natural teacher and understands the importance of letting the "student" actually try things out instead of just watching him.  He really, really knows his Apple/Mac and is a wealth of much so that we went well over the 1.5 - 2 hours I had hoped to pay for.  This was not his fault as I could have said "enough" at any point; I kept thinking I would tell him to stop soon, but he was so knowedgeable and I kept thinking of more questions!  The "cost of service" above includes an external hard drive I purchased. I had looked at back-up systems in various stores but found the options too overwhelming to make a decision.  After hearing his recommendations, I decided to buy an external hard drive from Gary and felt confident taking his advice.  He also provided email support the next day when I had a couple of follow-up questions.  All in all, well worth the expense and highly recommended!

    Absolute Computer Solutions
    My laptop wouldn't power up... Scariest thing ever for me because I have
    8000 dollars in irreplaceable software and a database of over a
    decade's worth of clients.  I've dragged this software and database from
    computer to computer over the years, and it's really a hassle.  
    Usually, I've found a Geek Squad or Micro Center tech to help me, and 9
    out of 10 of them just tell me to buy a new hard drive and
    reinstall/upgrade to a newer OS.  These guys were different.  I
    explained my needs, and he was able to fix my 'puter overnight.   He
    told me that the problem was a damaged section of hard drive, which he
    quarantined for me to prevent it from causing any more chaos.  Now I
    have my machine back, and everything is A OK.  No sixty hours of
    reinstalling software and hoping it works... No looking through a now
    externally docked HD looking for my work files... No nonsense.  I found
    my new IT department.  THanks guys!

    My Remote Repair
    I've used Garry's services for ears now and I've always been pleased with the results.  He was there for six years ago when my husband and I set up home offices and realized how little we knew about computer technology. 
    Garry is now "part of our family" in that he works on my mother's computer in Alpine, California, and my brother's
    computer in San Diego. My Remote Repair is one of the best companies I have found through Angie's List.

    The folks at Geek Street were awesome throughout the entire process. Although my first phone call to them wasn't until after 1:30 in the afternoon, they agreed to look at my computer that day.
    As soon as I walked in, Gene began taking the machine apart, diagnosed the problem and noticed that the mounting hardware for the screen was damaged. He performed a quick repair on the screen and then then began working on the other issue. Over the next 3 hours, Gene worked diligently on my machine and continually kept me informed about the status of the repair. He also answered several non related computer questions I had. Although price was never discussed before or during the repair, I was charged an extremely fair price for the work that was performed.
    I cannot say enough positive things about my experience at Geek Street. The customer service, quality of work and price were outstanding. They are now my "go to" place for any computer related issues and I will not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.
