House Painting reviews in Elizabeth

It went quite well. They replaced the damaged siding, and also replaced some 2x6s that had been water damaged over the years. They power washed the siding and did some scraping of still loose paint after the power wash. And they did a LOT of caulking. They primed and then put on 2 coats of paint. The transformation was amazing. They were hampered by rain due to our Colorado "monsoon" season, but it was still done in a reasonable timeframe. The team who did the work were obviously very experienced.

Everyone in the company was very good about communication on what was going on with dates, us picking paint, commitment, and execution. Understand that when we asked to have the exterior of our home painted, it was in the middle of the rain, maybe, cold, maybe snow? and other natural issues time of the year. The costumer agents were very good about keeping me informed about when the employees were going to come out and start the job. To my surprise when the painters came out, they came out in force. Starting about 7 AM, they worked all day and completed painting the body, trim and doors of my home in the same day. The clean-up was also done the same day. All individuals were very courteous and polite throughout the whole experience.

Not too well.  They promised to start on Monday 10/8 and didn't start until 10/12.  Were supposet o be there on 10/12 at 8am and showed up at 10:30 after a phone call asking where they were.  Their comment when I called was "Well is it a big inconvience if they aren't there on time".  My answer was "yes, I have several dogs that have to be kept inside during the painting and this is another couple of hours couped up for no reason - and they knew we had dogs and had told us they HAD to be inside during the entire project'.  They had estimated that their TEAM would come and do the house and prep the porch in 1 day and finish the porch by 1/2 day on day 2.  Their TEAM consisted of 2 people that took 4 days to do the work.  The 2 people worded hard, but there wasn't a TEAM, there was no concern on the companies part that my life and my dogs would be couped up for 4 days.  The 2 people that did the painting were the best part of the entire experience, they worked hard - just didn't have any TEAM to help them
When I was sent the invoices - I was sent 3 different invoices by email all with different prices and none match the original price I was quoted.  I was then sent an email on10/16 (job was finished on 10/14) stating my payment was overdue by 1 day and that it was subject to late fees already.  I wrote back and told them about the invoicing errors going on and they said that was 'impossible'.  I emailed them the original quote and the wrong-priced invoices so they could see the confusion.  One invoice was lower and 2 were higher......  They said they would look into it and then said there was no late fees going to be applied but that they have over $67,000 in outstanding bills that are unpaid and this is the stand they have had to take.  I had asked the painters if I should give them a check and was told 'No, the company will bill you'.  They certainly did - several ways.  I printed the original quote and paid the bill immediately. - never hearing from them again as far as the bill went.
Oh, the original warrany I was told during the quote was for 5 yrs if you went with the more expensive paint, and the one that came with the invoices was for 3 years.  When I inquired about this , I was told that their warranty are never more than 3 years, even though I bought the most expensive paint to get the longer labor warranty. To make amends they did give me an extended warranty.
The paint on the house/porch has several places where I am not satisfied, but will not contact them after such an experience.  Also they weather has now turned too cold to paint and will be too cold until spring and  my 3 month 'inspection' time will have expired.

Chad Lewis came out and did a walk around the house pointing out the areas of distress and explaining what they would do to properly prepare the surface for painting. There were a lot of cracks and nails that had to be patched and bare wood areas that needed to be primered. They powerwashed, scraped, caulked and sanded the exterior in one day. On day two they masked all surfaces not receiving the base color and applied the base. On the last day they removed the masking and painted the trim and accent colors. When we returned home from work the entire work area had been cleaned up and the job was done.Chad came by for a final walk around and ensured that we were completely satisfied. We are.The price quoted is the price we paid (less a discount for Liking them on Facebook).A professional job for a reasonable professional price.

The house was painted originally in 2005, but the quality of the paint job was not great to begin with, and had deteriorated badly by mid-2011. We have been working on getting the house back in shape for 2 years, as it has sat vacant for 5 years. We liked the color scheme and Sherman Williams had the perfect colors in a premium paint. We bid out the job in July 2011 and received 3 bids. Mr. Cielinski was referred to us by an acquaintance who had worked with him professionally as a contractor, and we accepted his bid based on Mr. Cielinski's professionalism, responsiveness and knowledge, as well as his detailed bids. He worked with us on a paint date so we could take advantage of a paint sale at Sherwin Williams. We gave Mr. Cielinski a deposit to start the job and we picked the colors - he bought the paint. Mr. Cielinski and his crew began with a power wash the last week in September 2011. We had one issue when water hit an exposed electric outlet outside and tripped a breaker while we were not home. Easily re-set once we found out where to reset that. The crew repaired damaged boards and trim, prior to caulking. The sealing and caulking took a full day and half, so some crew would seal and caulk while the other crew prepped and taped, prior to spray painting the main color. Several days of high winds, dust, and inclement weather caused some delays. It was especially difficult to work on the higher-up areas in high wind. The trim, fascia and corbels were hand-painted, as were some of the main color. Mr. Cielinski did the pre-inspection and had his crew doing touch-up and final painting where he deemed necessary. The crew, by the way, seemed to work well together, performed their respective jobs with as little interference with our daily routines as possible, and were respectful of our property and landscaped areas. We were impressed by the attention to detail on the exterior, and there's a lot of details, corners and trim on our house. We were and still are very pleased with the final result. Our neglected, peeling exterior has been transformed into a warm, inviting home.

He spent 3 days on the outside of the house caulking every inch of the outside before he even brought out a can of paint.  The neighbors even appreciated the time he put into his prep work.  He did more than I ever would have expected.  The house is 2500 sq. feet and he only charged her $2800 dollars.  He was also so good at cleaning up his mess, you could not even tell that their was a painter there.

They quoted me around $3800 but reduced it for us a little bit. I like their customer service and sales personnel. The interaction with the 4 men that came out has been good so far.
