    Sears Hometown Dealer
The freezer fan was replaced in March. In June, it broke again. The Sears Service phone center said they would send the part to the Sears dealer in Cortez and that they would be in touch with us to install the part within 3-4 days. One week later, we went by the Sears store to inquire. We were told they would leave a message for the service scheduler. Two weeks later, we called the Sears Service phone center again. They gave us an appointment time. The service repairman showed up on the correct day, but not within the 4 hour time frame we had been given (luckily, we were home). By this time, 4 weeks have passed and the refrigerator has begun indicating that the refrigerator is not functioning, but the freezer is still functioning. Furthermore, everything in the freezer, including the freezer compartment itself, is covered in a layer of ice. The service repairman tells us what the error codes indicate (information we had already given to the phone center), that he does not have the parts to fix it, and that we basically need to defrost the freezer and see if it fixes itself. We asked him to order the parts and to schedule a time to come back and fix it, and he agreed. For this call, he charges $99. Another week passed, and we again went to the store in person. We left a message for the repairman requesting follow up on the parts, etc. Two days later, the repairman calls us and tells us that they lost our paperwork, but he would try to find out what was going on and call us back. Four days later, the refrigerator wakes us up at 3 a.m. making the most awful noise, then basically it dies. The next day we go elsewhere and buy a Whirlpool refrigerator. We will never do business with Sears or buy a Kenmore appliance again. UPDATE: We filed a formal complaint with the store manager and with the national headquarters requesting a refund of the service charge and have received no response in the intervening 3 weeks.
