Acupuncture Treatment reviews in Colorado Springs

  • As most mothers of children with special needs know, finding time for yourself is hard. Finding time to take care of your medical needs is even harder with ongoing doctor appointments and specialists for your child. In October 2016 I was in a car accident. I really hurt my shoulder and was sent to a chiropractor. On the very first day I saw Dr. Abercrombie, I informed him that I was the sole caretaker of a child with special needs, and if she became ill I would need to cancel my appointment to care for her. I explained that my husband works far away as a military contractor and even though I have 3 other children, they cannot care for my daughter when she is ill. Dr. Abercrombie was VERY kind and compassionate. He assured me that he understood and just to call as soon as I knew I couldn't make it. I missed 3 appointments in the month of November and early December. For each of those appointments I called as soon as I knew I couldn't be there. One night I called at 3am, while I was tending to my sick child, in hopes that they would be able to fill my spot. They never said anything in my subsequent appointments, only to ask me how my daughter was doing. I eventually let them know I would not be continuing my treatment there because my daughter was taking so much of my time and thanked them for helping me as much as they could in the time that I was there. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for $600 in no-show fees for those 3 appointments!! I called and explained the situation and reminded them of what Dr. Abercrombie had told me about missing appointments. I even reminded them that I did call and all three times to cancel. They said they would make a note of it and I heard nothing more until January 2018 when I received a phone call from a lawyer's office. I I told her the same thing, she said she would make a note of it and I never heard another word. Last month my teenage daughter was served with a summons letting me know I was being sued by Alliance Health Partners for the $600. Exhausted and beaten down, I came to court today to just pay the $600 and be done with this mess. When I met with their lawyer though, I was informed the bill is now over $1500 which obviously I cannot afford. And now I am making payments at 18% interest forever. All because one time I chose to try to take care of myself. Colorado Springs patients BEWARE!!! If you have kids, even without special needs... kids who might catch a bug or hurt themselves and you cannot make your appointment with Dr. Abercrombie, calling in to cancel will not help you and you WILL be charged a $200 no-show fee. My mission now is to make sure no one ever ends up in the same position I am in with this doctor. There are many other great chiropractors in this city, and I beg of you to choose someone who doesn't screw over families of kids with special needs.

  • I am still seeing her today. I have medical issues that are getting taken care of. I absolutely love her. I carry her business cards and pamphlets in my purse and I had them out to anyone and everyone. I wished I could give her an A++ and she takes all the time that I need. She answered questions and she is very involved.

  • After going to the ER, doctor and then physical therapist in one week, I was still in a lot of pain from a hip injury. All I was told was to 'ice' it, take Motrin and rest. Out of desperation, I called Twin Tigers. I had never used acupuncture and was leery of it effectiveness. Jennifer did a great job informing me of the benefits of acupuncture and what to expect. The initial assessment of the injury was very complete. You can tell immediately that Jennifer had extensive medical experience. During the treatment session, her calming explanations made the treatment quite relaxing. The effectiveness of the procedure was immediate as I left without pain. She followed up to make sure I was feeling better and offered additional suggestions on how to minimize the pain. She was very professional throughout the entire time I went getting services.
I firmly believe that going to Twin Tigers for acupuncture relieved my pain and accelerated my recovery much faster than if I had just done physical therapy alone.

  • Dr. Jane has been my Chiropractor/Acupuncturist for 14 years and in my life experience is one of the most competent, caring and talented medical practitioners I've ever dealt with. She truly cares for the well-being of her patients and will not perform unnecessary procedures. I cannot recommend her highly enough

  • Jen Mansur is amazing! The atmosphere of her office is relaxing from the second you step in. I was pretty nervous the first time, but quickly realized that it wasn't painful at all. It actually is quite refreshing to go!
My most recent visit I went because I am 6 months pregnant and have been getting these weird rashes on my skin that almost look like bites. I have been getting them one after another for the last 5 weeks. After showing Jen pictures we weren't sure if it was something biting me or a rash. We decided that it was probably something biting me, more then a skin rash - but she did balance me out which she said would help me with everything being drained from my body from pregnancy. Not only did I feel GREAT afterwards, strange enough I haven't gotten another "bite" since seeing Jen!

  • They are the best. I would recommend them. They got some wonderful pain cream which is actually aroma therapy. The office is really nice. They are very nice. She explains and takes time with the patients to find out exactly everything was holistic medicine and it has revolved around the whole person and their well being not just symptom in that way CT of MRI and how to treat it better. I found out my back and my neck were like in train wreck or something. I have been diagnosed with MS and you have to get spinal tap. I think I have had it for about at least 10 years or so, but the symptoms come on very slowly and they moved a nerve in my right elbow that was a way to surgery and all the problems was going to mid back and my husband trying to tell them do an MRI but they didn't do it and that caused a lot of pain and agony for me, but I don't the MS is just something to deal with back in my right eye. She is booked out. I can probably call and get in within a week. I would continue to use them.

  • Purchased special through Angie's List. Special said 30 minute consult and 60 minute treatment. The provider spent about 15 minutes on the consult and about that doing a minor treatment. Then he wanted to sell me calcium and a vitamin. My appointment was for 11:00. When I arrived the office was locked. Had to wait for him to return from "an errand". Probably won't return.

  • Been using Lee Blackwood, DC, for about 3 years. Originally, saw him because I was in so much pain and it had gotten to where I was taking meds for it and everything hurt all the time. Lee helped me to understand that the body can get to thinking that any sensation and quot;wasand quot; pain and that's how I felt. After a year (once a week, occasionally twice), I looked back and realized that I was standing up straighter, more able to walk, and that I knew if there was a pain and where it was, not a generalized pain-everywhere feeling. It was pointed out by a friend, but I could see it as well, that I was no longer pale with a strained look on my face. I was enjoying life a whole lot more, too.
This spring, I had my hip replaced. I'd gotten through PT for the hip and was now, after so many decades, doing PT for my lower back. It seemed to be helping, as had happened with my torn rotator cuff. But I ended up being told that they couldn't help my back at this point. I was scheduled for an injection as the and quot;onlyand quot; remaining option. Learning about the side effects, I decided not to go that route. I headed back to Lee on 9/13.
He didn't adjust me but we just talked. I've found him to be knowledgeable on things that really help. He'll explain to me what's happening with some part of my body and I'll say, and quot; That's EXACTLY how it feels!and quot; He explained how the surgery scar you see is only the tip of the iceberg. The underlying scar tissue takes up a much larger area. Also, that the nerve paths that were cut in the surgery are still trying to figure out how to repair themselves and get to functioning again. He said to see him in another month, after things had calmed some more. He says he can do some acupuncture, too, which should be helpful for all of this.
It's just such a relief to have someone competent, who has the knowledge to actually help you to a better physical state.

  • Wonderful as Always. Dr. Jane listens to my descriptions and feedback then customizes her treatment regimen based on her examination and confirmation of the information I provide. I've received both traditional chiropractic treatments as well as my first acupuncture treatment which was a great first experience that yielded what I thought were surprising results. I highly recommend Dr. Jane for her kind and caring manner and highly proficient knowledge

  • Dr. Na did not agree that the numbness in my feet was not associated with my diabetes and started me on a regimen to lower my blood sugar. In this she was successful, but, since I thought success of the treatment was mostly due to herbal supplements and diet limitation, I switched to a Naturopathic Physician with a better understanding of nutrition and metabolic processes and a wider range of herbal remedies.
