The following is a copy of a document I filed with the management on 3/19/2012. Hi,I am a swimmer that uses your pool/spa on the weekends and have noticed on frequent occasions very high free chlorine levels. The levels I am getting are in excess of 10 pm which is 5 times the recommended concentration as outlined in Colorado's Safe Swimming Pool Regulations 5CCR1003-5 for semi-private pools. Unsuspecting people who use your pool will be exposed to high levels of known carcinogens such as THM's and HAA's. For others the health effects can be more immediate in the form of rashes, pink eye and sinus infections. These are unsafe conditions and represent a hazard to public health. I strongly urge you to discontinue this practice of maintaining such high levels of free chlorine and in the event that concentrations become this extreme for you to close the pool or at least post a warning
Unfortunately, management has decided to continue this practice of jacking up the chlorine concentration on Fridays and are unwilling to post any warnings to their members so they do not have to pay the pool-man to come in on the weekends. :( UPDATE: 9/27/2012 This problem of extreme over chlorination of the pool continues and this manager does not seem to care one bit about the adverse effects on the member's health and fitness. Just five minutes on the Net and he could verify that swimmers exposed to this can look forward to things like scorched lungs, premature aging of the skin, and rioting teeth. I find it truly mystifying why this money grubbing company would keep someone that is so willing to waste money on chlorine. To be fair I should mention that their drinking fountains work really well and he does give the members the option to watch what they want on TV with a remote control.
