    BAKERS TRANSMISSION SVC
Due to problems outside of Baker's Transmissions control it took a little time but they were patient, professional, and fair. I would use the again and recommend the to others. Other shops would not take a look at the whole problem, which Baker Transmission fixed. Old truck is reliable again. Thank you, to the whole staff and especially Glen and Owner for making it right.

    AAMCO Transmissions
We appreciated their friendly no-nonsense way of being clear with what the problem is, showing us the parts and what the options were to repair our transmission. Their work was on time and our transmission worked beautifully. We got a 3 year or 30,000 warranty and took it in at the end of the 30,000 to have it checked out and they dutifully checked it, showed us the condition and we were very satisfied with their work and integrity. Our local mechanic we trust highly recommended this Aamco and we were not let down at all.

    FALCON TRANSMISSIONS PLUS
He removed and assembled left and right front tires, replaced the bearings and took care of the axles. He replaced my brake pads as well. The work was excellent. A very honest gentleman took my car in and had things taken care of before he went on vacation. Before he did any extra work on the car he called to let me know what the cost would be. I appreciate that he took that extra step to ensure that I was aware of the problem. He also did some extra work on my car and did not charge me for it because we had already discussed several items and he had the perfect fix at no additional cost.

    Dave's Automotive
My experience with Dave was great -- he had the timing belt and the water pump replaced in just a few hours. Dave was friendly and easy to talk to, and the cost was very reasonable. I've been recommending Dave's to friends ever since!

    MOUNTAIN TRANSMISSION CTR
We realized something was wrong with your transmission while trying to tow a trailer as we were moving. We got a quote, which was more then we wanted to spend but they said they could get a used transmission in good working order for $600. less. They would have to order it. We agreed to that but the transmission got lost in shipping. They knew we were short on time, so they did the complete rebuild for the same price as if it were the used one. Timely, nice and explained to me exactly what was wrong, including showing me the disassembled parts. They didn't treat me as though I knew nothing because I was a woman. Very impressed that a business around Montrose still has integrity and pride in their work.

    Brittain's Automotive
I have used Brittains a number of times for routine oil changes. My last two experiences caused me to not return back. The first experience was to check a 'check gas cap' light that kept coming on, even though the gas cap was turned tight. They said it could be some sort of oxygen sensor. I did agree to pay for the diagnostic test. This showed that it was just a faulty gas cap. They then said I needed a manufacturer gas cap. I was charged $110 for the diagnostic test and a new gas cap. This was completely outrageous given that a new gas cap is about $10 at Auto Zone. I returned about 2 months later for an oil change. I have had many oil changes there and the price was always about $55. I have a Hemi engine, so that's about the going rate. I was stunned when I got my bill and it was $75! I inquired and they said that the price had gone up. Needless to say I haven't been back. It's a shame because they are nice and I had used them many times before this without any issue.

    BETTER RATE TRANSMISSIONS
We have a domestic car, co-produced with an Asian car company. It's a fairly common make and model. We were told it would take one week. We were going out of town Christmas Eve last year, which was when our car was promised to be ready. We made arrangements to get around with one car. We live about 30 minutes from Better Rate. When we went to pick up our car Christmas Eve, we were told they would need to keep it another week. They had not called to tell us in advance. We had to change our travel plans at the last minute. When we picked up the car afterward (two weeks after we originally dropped it), they said to drive it for a couple of weeks, come back in, they would check it, and give us our warranty for one year. The engine light came back on and they said it needed more work. To encapsulate this story, it is one year later and our car is still not fixed. The engine light is still on and the car shifts very rough. We have dropped our car for work there numerous times, at least twice for one week each, the other times were usually for two to three days. At first we tried to schedule when we had time off from work. When that was no longer feasible, we went to the expense to rent a car so that my husband and I could both get to work and get our older son to school. (No bus where we are) But now we simply cannot spend any more money on rental cars. One of the most frustrating things about Better Rate is that they will promise the car on a certain day, we will drop it for a couple of days, and when we pick up they have done NO WORK because "the part did not come in." That happened last week again, and this week they promised it would be ready Friday afternoon. We showed up and it had not been touched. They then promised it the next day - surprise, surprise, it was not ready. The owner has now promised it for tomorrow afternoon (Monday), but there is a forecast for very bad weather, so with only one car, our son will probably have to miss school and either my husband or I will have to miss work. If there is anything positive to be said about Better Rate, they have not charged us for the extra work and parts. However, the original agreement was that the car would be fixed for the agreed price. Because of us having to rent cars to get back and forth to work, the price of this has ballooned well above the original $1700 we paid. If we wanted to sell the car and replace it, we can't even do that, because it needs repair! I am so frustrated and feel powerless. From what we can ascertain, this shop has a contract to service cars from a local car dealer, so those come first and we come dead last. If our car is returned to us and is repaired as promised, I will update. I really hope that they will finally return the car with the transmission working well, no engine light on, and give us the promised warranty. Our local mechanic spoke highly of them, so he must have had good experience with them in the past. For us, it has been very bad, a nightmare really.

    Mountain Transmission
The partner company, which Jake worked for at the time, in Montrose Colorado overhauled my transmission. When the transmission ended up requiring warranty attention, the partner company can not be located, and the owner will not return my calls. This is where Jake at Mountain Transmission in Utah comes into the picture. The web site for Mountain Transmission Utah states they have shops serving Western Colorado and Utah, and that the owner has 30 years of experience. The warranty is even the same at 2 years and 24 months. There are reviews on their web sit that refer to Rick, the owner of the Partner company as well....... I say all of that to say this - Jake refused to honor the warranty of the partner company. He says that he left the other company and started his own business, yet there is an obvious connection between the two, even the 'owner' can be surmised to be the same owner of the Mountain Transmission in Montrose Colorado. There is a neat little caveat at the bottom of the Mountain Transmission Utah web sit that state that they are not affiliated with any other Mountain Transmission, guess that's how he can get away with it.

    MOUNTAIN TRANSMISSION CTR
The Transmission was overhauled in June of 2014. Within 500 miles the transmission began experiencing issues, and I returned to Mountain Transmission for warranty repair. They had the truck for approximately 2 weeks, and repaired/overhauled the transmission again. So far so good. April of 2015 the transmission looses overdrive and third gear 60 miles from home. I towed the truck back to Montrose and parked it at their facility on April 11th. The following week I spoke with Jake, Ricks son in law and employee of Mountain Transmission, concerning the truck. He informs me that Rick is going to buy  a core transmission, rebuild it, and then have me bring the truck to the shop for replacement. He also tells me that Rick is trying to move to another building and that it would help them out if I came and got the truck and stored it at my home until they called to let me know that they were ready for it to come back. Jake also let me know that they were thinking that the move to the new building would take about 2 weeks. In that two week period the Mountain Transmission building was vacated, the website was pulled down and the phone number was disconnected. At this point I had no issues, just figured that they were moving to the new location. After the two weeks go by I try to call and the number is still disconnected. I was able to get a message to Jake to ask him to give me a call, which he does. I learn that Jake has been working in Utah for the past 2 to 3 months and only came down to help Rick move, he also informs me that Rick may have some health issues and is visiting with specialists in Denver, and gives me Ricks cell phone number. I called the number and left a voice mail for Rick. Receiving no reply I have continued to call and leave voice mails for Rick every Monday and Friday since. Friday May 15th I call the Mountain Transmission in Utah to see if Jake can help out, he tells me that he will call Rick and let him know that I would like to speak with him, he also informs me that Rick may have had a death in the family and is in Denver. Monday the 18th I called and left another voice mail for Rick. Tuesday I called Jake to try and figure out what our options are for getting the truck fixed again. After asking Jake what the options are he tells me that he does not work for Rick anymore, that he started his own company and that he will not honor the warranty that Rick provided and that I need to call Rick, even though his web site claims that the 'owner' is an honorably discharged veteran with 30 years experience( this is referring to Rick, Jake is maybe in his early 30s), and that they have shops serving Western Colorado and Utah. There are also reviews on their web site that mention Rick specifically. I called Rick again, and left another voice mail asking for a call back and explaining my frustrations. The vehicle has been out of commission for a little over a month now, and other than the initial contact when the truck was checked out after I dropped it off I have been unable to elicit a response from Rick, and Jake refuses to Honor the warranty.
