Speech Therapy reviews in Centennial

They were wonderful.  Both rehab's, outpatient and in-house were fabulous people.  It is a full service nursing home; they have people there that are long-term residents for either physical or mental issues like dementia.  My mother was there after she had a hip replacement and they do short term care, which is primarily rehab where she had to live there.  They have long-term patients who would never leave.  They have two wings, one is for nursing home-permanent living, and the other for people who will be leaving once their rehab is done.  They are very caring.  It is very clean.  I looked at some nursing homes and they have an odor of urine, it was nothing like that here.  The food was pretty good, I used to go visit my mom and eat there myself.  The rehab staff, the physical therapist, occupational therapist, she had speech therapy too after a stroke and they were just wonderful.  They just got her back on her feet.  The management I thought was very good.  They just also had a major renovation and expansion, and they went from double rooms to all individual rooms or single rooms.  They really expanded their rehab facility area there.  They gave her twenty-four hour care and there always would be a nurse for her.  Medicare and other insurance agencies require certain meetings, evaluations, and plans on her treatments and when they had these meetings, I always was copied on it.  They always scheduled the meetings around my schedule so I could be there with her, so the communication was great.  They were wonderful with her treatments.  She had been in another facility once and the therapy here was by far better.  They do therapy here, seven days a week and normally at the other place, she got an hour a day, but here she got three or four hours a day.  They have therapists seven days a week and on weekends, they alternate, so my mother had six days of therapy a week for three or four hours, each day and so she improved much more quickly compared to the other place.  I had no problems with the billing, they billed her Medicare, and she had supplemental insurance, so I didn’t have to do anything.

They came to us.  Our daughter isn’t verbal so they didn’t help her with her speech but they helped her with her sign language.  My daughter is 40 but she is at an 18-month-old functioning level.  Learning sign language is like learning a foreign language.  They came once a week and worked on specific words or ideas.  Both therapists were very good.  We don’t use them anymore because Medicare only allowed us so many sessions. They were pretty good about their availability but we did get cancelled on a couple times.
