FUpon arrival at D n R Kennels I informed the owner / manager, Nada, that my cat was here for his grooming appointment that we rescheduled from the week before as my cat was sickly due to kidney issues. I informed her that over the past 10 days or so that "Guy" was doing well and had recovered fairly well but was still a little weak and fragile due to age and health but was in good spirits the past few days. I asked specifically for her to be gentle with him. About 2 hours later I get a call from Nada telling me Guy is ready to be picked up. She also informs me at this time that she nicked him up a few times in his underneath crotch area but that it wasnt too bad. She then tells me that she cut him pretty good on his neck but that he was fine. She said she did not even notice that she had cut him until she was giving the bath to him afterwards. I pick him up an hour later and to my dismay was shoced at what I saw. Of course, Nada was not around. Guy has a 2 inch cut on his neck and is completely traumatized by this event. His whole body is shaking from fear. he has no desire to be held ot touched at this time. This exactly the opposite of what I was trying to accomplish. All I wanted was my cat to be comfortable as his fur had become matted up cuz he doesnt groom himself as well due to he cant digest it anymore. Instead my poor little kitty is traumatized and this may push him over the brink. Only time will tell now. I have left a message for Nada expressing my displeasure with the unprofessional service and have asked to be called back - we will see if I get a response. All I can do is hope little Guy wil get over this and come thru. This is the worst hack job of a groom that I have ever encountered in 12 years. Ill go back to driving an hour and a half each way and pay more than twice as much to get a SAFE and professional groom job for my cats in the future. This has absolutely been one of the worst experiences I have ever had to pay for.

AI take my pets there every 2 months. If they did not do something that I told them to do. I can just take the dog back there and they’d do it, there are no arguments. They give my dogs treats. I have been using them for 9 months.

AThe quality is excellent, and the people are fantastic. They love animals, and they take special care of your animals. I board my dogs there, and they remember them every time. I board 2 large dogs in the same kennel, and it about $35 a night. I have never had any problems with them. They are wonderful!

ATook very good care of our Labrador while we were away for two nights. He was not kept inside alone, but had about 6 hours of supervised play time with other dogs each day. We were able to have him groomed before we picked him up. He came home happy and tired!

APonderosa PawsBear is the first dog we've had that requires regular grooming. We had taken him to Denver for a grooming but that was a huge inconvenience. Many of the area groomers are overly booked and/or not taking new clients. I was at my vet and picked up Kathy's card and made an appointment when Bear needed his next cut. Since we work from home it's so much more productive for us that she comes to our house. We don't have to take him anywhere, wait or pick him up. Kathy is always on time, calls to confirm the appointment, calls for follow up appointments like I've asked her to, and is great with Bear. I also love the fact that she's is a vet tech - just in case. In general a great service and a great convenience!- Carolyn B.

ADoggy Style Mobile Pet GroomingWe dropped off our 70-pound Golden Reteiver who really need a bath and brush out. She also got a outline trim, ears and nails clipped. Our 5-pound Shih Tzu who was in bad need of a haircut also got a her nails ans ears done. Both dogs came out great and I love how they come to your house so the dogs are not scared. She brings a large trailer which has everything including water and power. No need to hook into an outlet or water faucet. You can watch her groom them or just drop off and come back later.- Kristin G.

ASpawThis is a new business in Hotchkiss, and I picked up a card left at my work. I did not actually take Daisy in to get her nails trimmed, but sent my boyfriend. Daisy is a Rat Terrier and I have tried repeatedly to trim her nails on my own. I would get two or three nails trimmed, then Daisy would try to eat my face. Lest you get the wrong idea, Daisy is normally sweet and affectionate, she just is not into me trimming her nails. So, I called Brittany to see if I could send Daisy with my boyfriend, and she agreed to meet him and Daisy at her shop at the appointed time. According to the BF, Brittany got a hold of Daisy and Daisy just acted like a little princess. No fussing, no growling, no struggling, no biting. Her nails were trimmed in no time, without pain inflicted on anyone, and Daisy is a happy puppy.- Erin G.

ASPOILED ROTTEN ANIMAL HEALTHI have never been disappointed with their grooming. They are real professionals. My two Portuguese Water Dogs always look terrific after they have been groomed, and if there seems to be a health issue, ( eg. an ear infection), they always alert us to it. On one occasion Kris noted that one of the dogs might have tapeworms. He did, and we were able to take care of the problem right away.- Pat S.
