    Innovative Handyman Solutions LLC
Steve had never re-strung a blind before, but learned on youtube and did not charge for his learning time. The drywall repairs, wood repairs were done beautifully. I highly recommend this company and especially Steve!

Custom Design Blinds Shades & Shutters
3 years ago, give or take, we had Kathy install blinds.  After a few years, one blind has been 'sticky' but recently stopped being operational.  I contacted Kathy and she had the records, dialed in the exact blind and arranged for maintenance.  Her maintenance person came out and tried to replace parts, but it continued to 'stick'.  In fact her person visited us 3 times.  Kathy finally shook her head and arranged a replacement to be sent to us at no charge.
The replacement is perfectly color-matched and it also works as the others.
So if you are looking for someone who knows their blinds, keeps their promises, AND GIVES YOU PHENOMENAL SERVICE YEARS AFTER YOUR PURCHASE, then Kathy at Custom Design Blinds is your go-to business.

    Stoneside Blinds & Shades
We just purchase a new house in Boulder.  When we moved in we had nothing on the windows at all and quickly used up most of our spare sheets covering up the windows in the bedroom.  The next day we started calling around to find someone who could install window coverings to replace the sheets.  We schedule appointments with three different companies.  Although, Stoneside was not the cheapest they were similar in price, had a great selection, they make all of their products in Denver and, they had some cool motorization options and a great person to work with.  As a result we decided to go forward with them.  The very next day after we decided to go forward their installer showed up to make final measurements.   a couple of weeks later (right on schedule) they called to schedule an appointment to install everything.  The installation took just a little longer than I had expected but, other than that everything look great.  I was amazed at how new window coverings would change our house.

    Innovative Openings
Susan, Innovative Openings designer, came to the house.  We talked about design, color as well as function.  The front of our house faces East and the back, West.  It was important to have sun blocking options as the Western side of the house, especially the second floor, can get very hot.
As we  have 21 windows, the cost was a big factor.  After discussing and looking over many options, I purchased a combination of  roller shades and Hunter Douglas Applause blackout shades and vertiglides for the sliding doors.
Susan, bar none, gave me the best customer service.   I had to keep our budget on track and Hunter Douglas has beautiful products, all in a variety of price ranges.  I wanted a clean look and again, quality and function were big factors in the decision making process.
Susan's suggestions and creative eye helped me very much.  I'm thrilled with my choices.

    Aspen Blind Repair
This was a great experience. Crew showed up when scheduled, removed blinds quickly and then cleaned and returned when promised. The wooden blinds had to be cleaned by hand and they look great. The cellular blinds look new! I would definitely use this service again.

    Stoneside Blinds & Shades
I used Stoneside because I was remodeling a newly purchased home in Boulder, Colorado while still living in Dallas. Stoneside as representatives all of the country.  A representative came to my home to show me the shades and materials.  Another representative out of Denver (where the blinds are made) came to my home in Boulder and did all the measurements.  She communicated with me about the materials and the best way to achieve my goals (such as blackout shades in the bedroom). She coordinated the production and instillation  of the shades and communicated with me each step of the way. She got them done PERFECTLY and on a very short time line. They were installed before I arrived at my home. The representative was very knowledgeable and professional. I'm very happy with all of the shades and am having Stoneside return to do additional rooms. I've had shades installed by decorators, home improvement stores, and now Stoneside. This was the easiest, most pleasant experience I've ever had with installing shades.

Custom Design Blinds Shades & Shutters
Our house needed window treatments.  We researched on Angie's List and Custom Blinds came up well ahead of everyone.  We thought we might try Custom Blinds, and if we needed to seek a second opinion.  Kathy arranged a time to bring samples, and she was punctual.  Kathy zeroed in on our needs and helped us navigate our way through the many options.  Kathy knows her product lines and has many years of experience to draw upon.
Ordering, delivery and installation went very well, even with all this happening during the holiday season.  David, the installer was prompt, very pleasant to work with, and he too clearly has experience with the products, and left us with a knowledge of both operation and maintenance.

    THE BLIND DOCTOR
He was able to make the needed repairs at my home in about 40 minutes.  He was a little difficult to get a hold of, but that was because he was out of town when I first called him.  Once I scheduled an appointment he was prompt and professional and didn't seem to mind that my dogs wanted to "help" him with the blinds.  If I ever need blinds repaired in the future I will definitely use The Blind Doctor again.

    Innovative Openings
This firm was recommended by Gary's Handyman Service.  One of the 3 blinds in our livingroom collapsed on Friday, so we had no privacy for several days.  Since it was part of a set, we wanted to have it repaired as opposed to replacing all 3 pieces.  We had no idea what was involved or how long it would take to fix.  My husband walked into their shop with the broken blind and left 10 minutes later with a repaired blind.  It was great!

    Phillips Custom Construction
Overall it was a fantastic experience. I don't know many people would describe a custom home building experience as positively as me. This had much to do with the attention to detail, experience, professionalism, honesty, commitment to quality and high standards, and passion that was provided by Phillips Custom Construction. I was introduced to Phill Little through my real estate agent. After walking through some of his previous projects (mainly in the Longmont area including his own home), I was immediately impressed with his work. My project was relatively small compared to some of the other project he has done. I was in the market for a high-end, modern, and environmentally friendly) home so I wanted someone with this type of mentality and experience. I also like the fact that he and his architect used 3D modeling (using RevIT) quite extensively and would be able to build a model on a detailed topology of a lot. Phill helped me assess the suitability of various undeveloped lots I was considering which were all considered moderately to extremely challenging since they were all located in the foothills with lots of rocks and fairly steep slopes, sometimes difficult access, etc. He has been working in the area for so long that he had good relationships with Boulder County and service providers in the area. Most importantly he had experience with mountain homes. The first step was to get a lot, design my dream house, and the get approval from Boulder County. Phill and team guided me through the design approval and we had a fairly detailed design and budget at the end of it. Once I had the lot we continued through the design process to get much more specific about materials, finishes, and the 1000s of variables involved in a project like this. He was very helpful to see lots and lots of pictures of previous homes and to see a breakdown of all the various categories of decisions I had to make and the generaly timing of those decisions in the process. I am personally a very detailed oriented person who likes to employ technology as much as possible in visualize designs. Since Phill Little and his architect (Stuart Jordinson) used RevIT software they provided soft copies of all designs that I could play with and edit. This helped us communicate design ideas and decisions quite well. He was also very receptive to my own 3D modeling using Google SketchUp so communication was crystal clear. I was extremely involved in the design all the way through, and Phill was totally flexible in hearing and taking action on my ideas and talking me through all the considerations that would affect the project. He quickly understood my goals and gave me consultative advice on decisions and had always been responsive with a can-do attitude. It was clear he loved his work and loved developing solutions to the design challenges I through his way. I could send him web links and he would research them as much as I would and we would discuss cool stuff. For example, we add automated blinds that actually worked on a vaulted ceiling with a huge bank of windows.. They simply disappear into the ceiling for a super clean look when not in use. Whenever I had some doubts or concerns about something we talked through it and he always had it covered. We had a cost+ arrangement with full financial transparency which I liked. We definitely did go over budget on this project which is an easy thing to do for custom homes because there are so many cool things you can do. The only major over budget items that were under estimated by Phillips Custom Construction was the excavation and subsequent additional retaining wall that was required. My lot had very little top soil and was mainly sandstone so blasting and hammering the rock was required. The leech field was bigger than anticipated which required extra excavation, and I wanted very nice dry stack retaining walls which take more time. The majority of the over budget items were due to my own scope change for the project. I added an extra bedroom (after plan approval but before breaking ground!) Then I continued to high-end features to the home like super modern German door hardware and speciality Spanish tiles, full home audio, automated blinds, custom designed built-in furniture, etc. That was my fault but I have no regrets. I could have even done a bit more in hindsight. During the construction phase, he made excellent on-site decisions that were not totally spelled out by the design. I had total peace of mind in working with them because I knew Phill was building my house as if it were his own dream house. I don't mean he would design it to his tastes but would build it with the love and care as if he was going to live there himself. I greatly appreciated the effort he spent in negotiated with sub-contractors or suppliers to get the best value and holding his team accountable to extremely high quality standards. He spent a lot of time doing price comparisons that would be used to negotiate with suppliers. He also guided me on things when service vs. price was more critical (e.g. not always best to go with an online provider vs. a local providers who can help you locally when needed.) There are no cutting corners and no slop with Phillps Custom Construction. He also made great "on site" decisions that you just cannot really always plan in the design, even iwth 3D modeling. Sometime you just have to be physically there to know what to do and he made some great decisions there. I lived nearby but I couldn't be on the job site during most business hours (though I snuck up to the site often during breaks in my work day.) He figured out my approach and my design principals and applied those very effectively. We really only had one significant miscommunication that was a shared responsibility so we split the cost of reworking one item related to some windows. I appreciated the partnership we had built along the way. The paperwork aspect of the project was also quite easy with full financial transparency with timely monthly reports (including plenty of spreadsheets) and draw processing. After moving in there are always loose ends and he diligently and promptly worked through our "punch list" of things to address. I continue to work with Phill on smaller projects for the house. Building a custom home is a massive investment of both personal time and money so I felt lucky to have found Phillips Custom Construction. Whatever scale of project you are considering from redoing your foyer, bath, basement, or what I did? I would whole-heartedly recommend Phillips Custom Construction.
