Osteopathy reviews in Boulder

  • My experience with Keith Swan was by far the most ineffective and callous that i have ever encountered in the alternative medical field. He was late and although the initial appointment was to be 45 minutes for an evaluation and treatment, he seemed more interested in bragging about his artwork than discussing my medical condition. After about 10 minutes of cranial sacral work he asked how i was doing and seemed annoyed when i said"ok " From there he tried a few adjustments, ,after each one having me stand and ask how it felt. Again he seemed irritated that iI wasn't "cured" and after a 25 minute visit, he abruptly ended saying " come back in a few days" offering no assessment or recommendations.
After several days of feeling actually worse, i returned for a follow-up visit. He again did cranial sacral therapy - an extremely subtle treatment and when my answer again to how i was doing.was O K he shocked me by asking"what are we wasting our time here"?! After that the few adjustments he attempted failed as my body was already quite tense from the injury and his manner did not instill the trust or confidence needed for successful movement. After each attempt he again had me to stand - and again seemed accusatory that i hadn't responded. After 20 minutes he ended the session telling me to come back in a day or two
The Osteopathic premise is when the body is in alignment it will heal itself. I have had wonderful success with this mode of treatment but Dr Swan did not have that approach. His adjustment were simply symptom related, ignoring the idea that the entire body needs alignment. His manner was brusk, uninterested and actually intimidating.
With all the wonderful, compassionate practitioners here in Boulder, I am surprised Dr Swan has any patients whatsoever
