I called on a Sunday around noon. Randy called back within an hour and arranged an appointment for Monday morning. He arrived on time; he was communicative and efficient; and the work was done in less than 20 minutes. Great!

Boulder Landscape & Design is one of the best companies I have ever worked with. From start to finish the project was executed superbly. BLD has exceptional communication regarding the start of the project and progress throughout. The project pricing was reasonable, and once the project commenced there were few changes to the base price except for change orders that I requested. The change order process was simple and smooth, and increases or decreases to the contract price were clearly and thoroughly explained. The work crew was always punctual, and courteous, and they were great at maintaining a clean work site. Their workmanship is great and the final product that includes grading/leveling, fences, sprinklers, sod, soil amendment, edging, and mulch is superb. Cory was at our house everyday to oversee the job and direct the team, and he was always willing to consult and answer questions. Cory was also the person who provided the initial bid that was very thorough. The BLD contract process with Cory was simple and easy to execute. I highly recommend Boulder Landscape & Design.

Quite well overall. The crew did everything that was promised and also a broken pipe which was on the bid. The only issues were that training on the new control unit didn't happen until I complained and I received an email that I should have paid before I got an final invoice with the down payment I had given them.

We don’t have any lawn, we’re on the side of a hill, we have all retaining walls. So, I have a landscaper already for my walls. It is RB Landscape. Francisco Rodriguez, is the name of the owner. We’ve had him for years, it was way before Angie’s List. He’s very good, he’s done all our landscaping since 1988. They’re an “A”. The only problem I have is that most of his workers are Mexican and they don’t speak any English. So, I have a difficult, I need to have somebody to speak with because Francisco is not here all the time. He comes and goes himself. He has his workers do a lot of the stuff, but I can’t converse with them at all. So, I have to wait for Francisco. That is the only thing big problem that I have with that company. With punctuality, Francisco is not always punctual. He will finally get around to you, but when he says I will be Saturday, it might not be Saturday, it might be next Tuesday instead. So, you kind of have to go with the flow, he’s real busy. He’s professional himself, it’s just that I wish his workers were more able to speak the language. He charges different things at different times. He does my over wintering with the irrigation system and then he comes back in the spring and turns it back on. I think his prices are actually quite good considering some other people I’ve heard talk about their landscapers. So, I think he is quite reasonably actually. I will use him again, I’ve got to call him in a couple of days.

He did some work trying to repair the existing one. The cost of the repair is in dispute. Initially, it was pretty good. But, he got the idea that he needed to make more money going to the mountains than working in town and he just became unusable.

James arrived right on time, and was cordial and professional during the entire visit. He  was thorough, and spent the time to diagnose and repair a stuck valve and broken solenoid in my system, and didn't even charge me for the parts he put in.  All the while, he took the time to explain how different parts work, and was quite helpful answering questions and just plain being friendly.  He obviously cares about making customers happy.

The work that this group did was substandard. Although I like the garden area in the front of my home, it was not what I asked for. My patio has weeds growing through it, is very uneven. I was talked into getting concrete where I really wanted trees and shrubs. The sprinkler system in the garden area never really worked. We had another company come in and re-do the work that was originally done. Plants died, the wrong plants were put in the shade. The sprinkler system in the back yard was also re-done by another company. There were line leaks, improper coverage. I had always wanted a fireplace in my home, and unfortunately, asked if they could do that. Oh yes, they said they could. NOT. It never worked. Calls, emails, texts were unanswered. Lots of frustration. I had a big hole in my living room for months. The entire mess cost me approximately $18,000 more than I had bargained/budgeted. This does not include the contractor hired to undo and redo the disaster that was the fireplace. My advice: don't take the lowest bid, because you get what you pay for. In my case, it cost me about 3 times as much as it should have and would have spent using more reputable companies - companies who cared, followed through. Don't pay, as I did, without documentation of what you are paying for. We requested invoices and receipts for the job and after 2 years, still don't have them. Read all of the reviews that you can find on this company. I wish I had been more diligent and not in such a hurry.

Overall the work was good.  Hayden has skills as a landscaper and runs a pretty good crew.  He was prompt with an estimate and friendly enough.  Work was done in an overall timely and skilled manner.  Then some problems started.  His estimate was on the low side so we picked him.  I added a quite a few additional jobs to the initial estimate so I had a feeling I was going over.  He let me know I was probably going over the 2,600 initial bid but "not by too much".  The next day he said I was at $5,000!  He definitely should have been on top of that better.  It turned out to be $6,000 which I don't have an argument about but he should have given more notice of the increase.
The worst part was when he left his rototiller in my garage and would not pick it up after repeated requests.  Not to mention leaving other tools, trash, & parts strewn about my property.  I was in the process of trying to sell my house and get it ready to show.  I also have 2 kids.  I put the rototiller on the street, told him, and he still did not get it.  Finally I told him a FREE sign was going on it and guess what, he picked it up. That was awful and infuriating.
I really wanted to like Hayden and recommend his company but I cannot.  His services and skills are good but his overall professionalism is awful.  Beware the low bid that grows like weeds.

1)Dug up lawn unnecessarily. Brought wrong size head/adjusted wrong. Came unannounced 2 hours early - nae on truck misspelled. Second time brought head too large - spraying in neighbors yard. Still not adjusted right. Asked for better quality person to come out. Finally gave up! scheduled person to come out x3 (never showed & never called to reschedule.

It was my first experience with automated sprinklers so I had many questions. Jerry was highly professional and answered all my questions patiently, even the ones I asked more than once. He gave me a written quote up front which I reviewed with a friend who has more experience, and answered all my follow up questions clearly.During the scheduled installation, which took 2 days as promised, I was continually impressed by the pride in quality the whole team showed as they did this work. When it was complete, Jerry showed me how he was setting up the programming and walked me through it, leaving the documentation there--when I had to reprogram it later to accommodate a neighbor's request, I found that it was very flexible and was able to do it on my own easily. When we had a concern about coverage in one corner of a flower garden a few days later Jerry sent people out to fix it by adding another sprinkler head within two hours at no charge. More recently when we observed lower pressure in one zone, Jerry addressed it the same day we left a voicemail for him about it (a clamp needed tightening). We love our new sprinkler system, and our lawn loves it too! We also feel good about the more efficient use of water we get with automated irrigation and high quality sprinklers.I am left with a high degree of trust and confidence in All Pro and have signed up for their winterizing and spring startup services as well.
