    Solid Rock Custom Carpentry
It went very well! Craig was responsive, on time and a true craftsmen. He textured and painted the walls, moved and installed a vanity light, laid tile, installed bead board and trim, removed and reinstalled a toilet, and installed a vanity.

No hot water this morning. We have an ancient tankless heater in a very tough-to-reach location. Deb returned my call within minutes, and sent Ben out. Turned out to be just a pilot light, but Ben gave us some good ideas for what to do when this old unit finally quits. Thanks!

Jared reviewed our old boiler for efficacy and efficiency and provided the recommendation that I already was expecting -- it was better to replace then repair (again).  In addition, much of the original plumbing design for the radiant floor system was goofy.  For a high efficiency boiler, a significant upgrade from what we had, his price was on par from what I was expecting.  I didn't shop or compare other plumber bids as his seemed reasonable. Jared was recommended by a neighbor and he presented a seemingly honest recommendation including other options for repair.  The install job was clean.  I have no complaints and have since used Jared for some other minor issues.  Each time he presents recommendations I feel he offers an honest assessment.  For as long as I have plumbing, I will first seek out Jared before considering any other alternative for a plumbing contractor.

Andy's Pipe Dream of the Rockies
We will be using Andy's from now on. Professional, timely, communicative, and reasonably priced - everything you look for in a pro. He is good with pets, lays down a mat to put his shoes on, calls to provide updates when he says he will... Just awesome. Couldn't ask for better service. Oh, did I mention all of my old toilets, sinks, and drains are now working?

Andy's Pipe Dream of the Rockies
Today, Andy repaired a sink that was dripping and required new parts. A few weeks ago he repaired a toilet that wouldn't flush properly and a shower that was not diverting correctly. All are in perfect working condition now.?

    A GAS MAN INC.
I moved into a new house a few months ago with two gas fireplaces already installed, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. Both fireplaces were less than two years old. The living room fireplace was fine and the upstairs one was emitting a strange smell. I wanted to be safe before I continued to use them, so I called the Gas Man Inc, AKA Jarvis. Jarvis sounded very professional on the phone and asked me a lot of questions about my fireplaces. He also went on about how busy he was. However I was able to get an appointment the following Tuesday (I called the previous Thursday), pretty quickly. He only makes house calls on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays. He came to my house with his A Gas Man Inc. hat on like he was very professional. He made me watch him work on the upstairs fireplace and went into great detail about how to ignite the fireplace, something that seemed very self-explanatory and something I had done many times. Then he took out the glass and insisted that I clean it even though I was paying him and even though I had a crying one year old in my arms. Then he vacuumed out the fireplace with a 20 dollar shop vac. and dusted off the logs with an old paint brush (seriously???) When he took out the logs he asked ME if I could look up on my smart phone and find out how the logs should be configured. One would think he would already know how to do this since he was "The Gas Man," but no. Then he vacuumed the downstairs fireplace and made a big production about how to open and close the door to reach the controls (completely self-explanatory!!) Then, I had left the room and came back he said that he found a mouse nest behind the fireplace. I asked if I could see the mice but he had already conveniently packed up his vacuum! He then gave me a bill for $375 and went on about how gas fireplaces need to be "serviced," (in reality vacuumed), every year. My jaw nearly dropped!! I think it's fair to say that this guy, Jarvis (conveniently no last name or address), is a total charlatan who makes his living taking advantage of people. He seems to have zero training and his idea of "service" is literally vacuuming out the fireplace!! If you are reading this review, please seek help elsewhere!!! The Gas Man Inc. Is a total scam!!!!!

Andy's Pipe Dream of the Rockies
Not really a whole lot to say about it. Andy showed up on time, was very pleasant to work with and professional. Got the job done in a reasonable amount of time, for an acceptable and reasonable price. I noticed that the water tank had been discharging some overflow drops, and mentioned that to Andy. He went right to work, checking the backflow valves in the yard, pressure test, etc. We elected to have him install an expansion tank at the water heater while he was there. Recommend.

It went great at first. They showed up promptly they gave me a great estimate. They did the job quickly and the job site guys weresuper nice. The issue came when I tried to turn on my sprinklers and I found that they had driven the back hoe over some sprinkler heads and busted them. I called to find out if they would replace them. They told me somebody would call me back. Nobody did and so I called again and was told the same thing. It has been over a month and still nobody called me. I assumed it was their responsibly to fix the sprinkler heads, however I was totally fine if it was not. I just wanted somebody to call me and instead they have just ignored me. What concerns me most is what if the issue was more serious would they call me back? I am going to replace the heads but I would not recommend them to anybody because of how unresponsive they have been.

Jared was great. I wanted an estimate on redoing our sump pump system as well as adding a water line to the ice maker in our refrigerator. The estimates were reasonable, and he was able to hook up our ice maker right away. He braved a lot of mud in our crawl space, but got the job done in a timely and professional manner. We'll definitely be using them to redo the sump system as well.

    Steve's Plumbing Inc
He was called to fix a leak in outside faucet and did that job adequately.
I also asked about a leaking kitchen faucet; he said it couldn't be fixed and I needed to get a new one. My renter was able to take apart the old one one and fix the leak himself well under the time it would have taken plumber to do the job for the one hour I paid for.
He also stated it would be about $200 to fix a problem with a 1" pipe that needs to be reduced to probably a 1/2" pipe in the basement bathtub; I opted not to do that.
He complained several times that he has tried to have the "special" I paid for through Angie's list removed; all he got was $35 for the call to my house. I felt sorry for him, and gave him a $10 tip for coming out. I gave him a D rating for professionalism because of discussing his problem with Angies List with a customer.
I paid for an hour's work (plus $10 tip!) and he spent a half hour at the most at my place.
