    ACE TRANSMISSION & AUTOMOTIVE
Had a noise that was coming from the transmission area of our Astrovan. A friend recommended Ace Transmission. Brian said he could check it out so we made an appt . Had to leave the van for a few days to figure it out because it wouldn't make the noise. Brian and his crew were persistent and determined to figure it out. Turns out it was the catalytic converter so we had it replaced. Also we asked to have the transmission fluid changed. Best repair shop. Honest people. Saved a bundle of money. By the way, they have a new location on Monroe Ave; check the website.

They were very professional, kept me posted the whole time with the work that was being done to my truck, such as time frame and cost. He also informed me of a further problem that I needed to be address. I really wish they did diesel engine work because that would be the only place I'd take my truck, but for everything else I'll be back. A++ thank you both.

    Terrible!
It pains me to write this review since I live in Berthoud and always attempt to spend my money locally but this is one company you shouldnt trouble yourself with.
I went to this company today (1/2/2014) to get an estimate for repairs to my truck.    I saw the open sign was illuminated and saw someone inside but in our little town during this holiday season you never know if the owner is truly open or just in there catching up on things.  I personally know this same business is sometimes not open for business but there are people inside working the building.
I walked in and saw this guy behind the desk named Dave.  This was the beginning of this entire negative episode.   I asked Dave are you open? and he said sign says open doesnt it?     A simple yes or no would have clearly sufficed.   Strike one.
I explained my vehicle issue to him and he took down my VIN and contact number.  He said the repair required a dealer part and he needed to call the manufacturer.  He said he would call them and call me back with an estimate within an hour.  Two hours later I have not received a call from him so I called him back.    Dave said oh, Im sorry, I forgot to call the dealer.  Ill call them right now and call you right back.    Nearly two hours later I have not got his call so I took my vehicle to another repair shop because I need the vehicle repaired the next day.  Strike two.
After dropping off my vehicle at Metric Motors (Loveland, CO) and returning home, Dave called me.  I told him that I had taken my vehicle to another shop for the repairs since I did not hear back from him.  He said well, I tried to call you twice but the line was busy.  The number I gave him was my personal cell phone.  I had the phone with me the entire time.  I checked the call log and
only record of him calling me was this current call.  Furthermore, in case you wondered, if I had been on the phone, I would have received a notice of an incoming call.  I told Dave "I've had the phone with me all morning and no one had called me until this call.  Thanks for calling me back" and I hung up.  Strike three.
I will never attempt to use this company again.   It is very important to me to spend local but I will not waste of single dollar of my hard-earned money on a company with such poor customer service.

    DR DELP & SCAN MAN
I have gone to this mechanic for many years, other than a couple times that I felt I was overcharged, I always believed that the work done to all of my vehicles was done very well so I never complained. Never complained when I was charged nearly $80 for an oil change or anything. But when I went to have my timing belt and water pump replaced was when I changed my mind about the ethics of this company. Before bringing it in, I was told that the cost of the work would be $500, I had been quoted elsewhere for $875, of course knowing this mechanic, I jumped at that deal because I knew it would be done righ and it was almost half the cost. I did not sign anything, for four days after my car was dropped off, I did not hear from him. On the fourth day I was getting a little antsy, I am a single parent and I had to have a vehicle to be able to go places with my daughter, such as the grocery store and also to work. The mechanic was so nice to deliver my car to me himself at my home after four days, but when he returned my vehicle to me, he told me that I owed him an extra $600 dollars for parts and labor because the job was more extensive than he expected! Bringing my total to $1100, without my even knowing it! Had I known that it was more extensive of a job, and he had called me to let me know, I would have had the vehicle and it's parts towed to a place that was only going to charge $875 for the job. I was infuriated that I was not told about extensive work needing to be done to my car and that my bill was now twice as much as agreed upon. I felt completely taken advantage of and ripped off. I told him that I didn't have another $600 to give him, which was very much true. He told me I could pay him back. I even investigated Colorado law to be sure that was he just did was legal, and it wasn't. I spoke with a lawyer, who told me I should sue him. In the end I decided against it, because I'm not one to do that to a person. We all struggle, but I was still very upset by the whole situation. I ended up calling him a few days later and let him know how I felt about it and he ended up working with me on the price, we agreed on my quote from another mechanic: $875 for the entire job. But I still didn't have that extra $375 to give him, so I'm working on paying that back. He calls, texts, and comes to my place of work and asks me for money every week or two, and it's so stressful. I just feel ripped off and treated unfairly by the whole scenario. I will say that he is a good mechanic, he does great work, and my car has never had an issue from anything he has ever done to my cars. But, make sure that you stand your ground and don't allow yourself to be financially ripped off by this man. Sign an agreement on price before any work is done, and make sure to tell him to call you if any extra work needs to be done to get permission first.

I found them on Angie's List and have used them twice. Their pricing is competitive with other places and my experience with them went very well. They were very nice and got me in very quickly. I told them what I thought the problem was and they told that it was not that but something else which they fixed. They also told me that I needed something else done which they did not do and recommended somebody else. The car was ready on the day and they sent me a thank you note which I thought was very nice since I do not always get that from people who perform work. Later I noticed some knocking sound in the car and I took it back to them. They fixed that and said that this might have been a result of something that they would have inadvertently knocked out of while doing the work. They did not charge me for this which I thought was very nice.

    Meineke Car Care Center
It was horrible!  These guys are CROOKS and should be in jail!
I wanted a second opinion so I took my car to the auto service company my parents have used for years.  Within
30 minutes of the inspection, they informed me that my ?bleeder valve? had been loosened and this could have caused a serious accident!  They completed the inspection and informed me that my rear brakes were fine but my front did need to be replaced.  Their quote for the repair was under $200 which is less than half of the Meineke quote.
I reached out to the manager at the same Meineke shop and informed him of the loosened bleeder value and he became irate with me and blamed the ?other guys? for the loosened bleeder value!  Then started yelling at me and said ?I DON?T CARE WHAT THOSE GUYS SAID- WE DIDN?T DO IT!? (loosen the bleeder valve).  Then he hung up on me.  He called me back 30 minutes later and told me that the ?other guys? are NOT a national chain like Meineke and that I shouldn?t trust them.  I explained to himthat his actions with me earlier was very unprofessional and informed him that would be writing this review and he hung up again!
PLEASE, VOTE WITH YOUR DOLLARS!!! DON?T USE THESE CROOKS!!  Go to Family Tire or Metric Motors in Loveland, CO!!!

They are great, awesome and fantastic.  Everything with them went great.  They are very good at letting me know if there is any issues and how bad it is.  They tell me how well can get it taken care of or if I do not, I will have to think about it in the future.  They always give me the heads up the next time I go there for an oil change.  They have a great staff and are very into customer service.  They explain things really well which makes a great deal to a girl like me who knows nothing about cars.  They have like a frequent buyer’s card where I pay for six oil changes and get the seventh one free.   I would use them again in the future.

They are just local in the town and by word of mouth I came to know them. The thing that stands out about them is that they are very honest. They have a couple of real good mechanic out there and any of them work on the vehicle. They stand behind their work and that is the main thing. They dont sell tiers. They just service vehicles. Overall their work went off very well. As for pricing they are not the cheapest but they are worth it.

I brought a hot rod in for an engine rebuild. It was a car bought off ebay and it ran fine during the test drive but later had problems. I needed a rebuild of the 350ci motor, but then decided to upgrade. They stroked the motor to a 383, added 3X2 intake manifold, and assembled it perfectly. Then for free, then looked over the rest of the car. It turned out that the transmission in the car was meant for a 6 cylinder engine and the driveshaft was welded but not balanced. I really appreciated this company looking out for me and my car above and beyond what I asked to do. I went ahead and had the transmission rebuilt and a new driveshaft made. What impressed me most is how much they stand by their work. I got the car home and the transmission had a small leak, I brought it back in and it was fixed the same day for free. The employees are top notch and are really good at custom work. Later I brought my subaru in for a timing belt and water pump replacement. Again, this work was done on the same day and they showed me all the old parts. I would recommend this company to anyone. While they specialise in custom street rods and hot rods, they are experts in any type of vehicle from your boat, to your RV, to your daily driver.
