    Precision Property Inspections, LLC
I was the buyer in this situation and Randy allowed me to walk the entire home inspection with him. He was a wealth of information and went above and beyond the expectations while inspecting the home. He was very thorough and nothing was guesswork. He was punctual for the inspection and the corresponding inspection report. I would highly recommend his services. Additionally, his pricing was better than some of the other quotes I had gotten for a home inspection on my home.

It went great! Tim did a thorough inspection and did a very good job of explaining everything to us which was very helpful being a first time home buyer. He even went down a bit on price since our home is on the smaller side. Stand up guy and company!

    Axium Inspections & Radon Mitigations
These guys absolutely nailed it. In about 5 hours they installed a great looking and unobtrusive venting system right next to our expensive solar inverter and battery bank without any issues. Less than 2 hours after the system was running I saw a dramatic drop in our pCi/L ratings, according to my AirThignsWave sensor and we went from an average of 7.5 down to 4.0 in less than 12 hours. Its still dropping today. The installation crew was very professional and had answers to my common questions.

    Competitive Edge Home Inspections
I'll start by saying I had no idea what to expect from a Home Inspection. This is my first time buying a home and going through this process. I saw nothing wrong with the home and was ready to purchase with no inspection but I am glad I was advised against that. Our relator gave us a recommendation for Competitive Edge and Michael was able to come out just two days later. He was on time, very knowledgeable and professional. I had no idea how many things he would find that needed to be addressed. He was able to educate me on a lot of how this house works. I found his insight on what matters should be brought to the seller before purchase and which were easy fixes I could do later most helpful. He even told me where to purchase the parts and texted me that information so I could buy later. You can tell this company takes pride in their work considering I felt I knew the bones of the home by the end of it even down to how to clean the stove top and fireplace glass properly. It's the extra attention to detail that prompted my straight A review. I will suggest to friends and use in future home purchases.

Fantastic home inspection. Mike was 10 min early, spent several hours inspecting my home. He only schedules one per day to allow enough time to provide a thorough inspection and report. For any issue found he took the time to explain why its an issue, how to tell its an issue, what is typical and atypical, and how its usually repaired. My wife and I own 3 homes and we plan on having Mike inspect the other 2.

Our timeline for performing our home inspection in order to purchase our home was relatively tight.  We phoned five inspectors with high reviews on Angie?s List.  Mike answered his phone and was able to work us into his schedule.
Mike arrived at the house on time.  The homeowners wanted to be at the inspection.  I asked Mike if that would affect his ability to perform his work and he said no.  However, as the inspection went on it became clear that Mike was unwilling to be frank with me about the condition of the house.  At one point, Mike said he didn?t want to say anything with the homeowners nearby, which told me that them being present really did affect his ability to perform his work, which I include being able to talk to me about the house.
I tried to follow Mike around and ask as many questions but I really didn?t feel like he wanted me to be there--I was pretty disappointed with that.
We realize that home inspectors often check out rather simple things like whether the faucets leak and whether the doors and windows open and close properly.  It felt like most of the time that Mike spent inspecting was focused on these simple things.
My wife and I obviously already liked the house?we didn?t need another person looking at the house with us through rose colored glasses.  We hoped that a home inspector would help bring a critical eye to our home purchase process and help us understand any existing or potential problems we may encounter with the home.  From the start and throughout the inspection, my wife and I were a bit taken aback with how overly positive Mike was about the house.  I guess we were hoping he would at least reserve judgment until he had spent time conducting a thorough inspection.  At one point, about an hour into the inspection, Mike told us, ?I?m working for the house??later we thought we should have reminded him that the house isn?t cutting him a check for his time that day.
Mike identified a few issues with the house that we took to the owners.  Mike?s inspection said that there was hail damage to the roof.  We submitted this in our inspection objection and received quite a bit of push back.  In the end, an inspector from the
owner?s insurance and an independent inspector hired by us agreed that the roof didn?t have hail damage but that the shingles were blistered due to poor ventilation in the attic.  While we appreciated that Mike actually identified an issue his misdiagnosis led to more trouble than we had hoped and weakened our ability to negotiate with the sellers.
Overall, we expected more from our home inspector.  There were some good things about Mike?he was
on time, friendly, and the price was good.  However, reflecting on our experience we just weren?t satisfied and would have been willing to pay more for better service.  Mike needs to be working for his customers not the houses.

    Hairy Yeti Construction, LLC

I hired Tom Allen of Hairy Yeti Construction to design and build my custom home in Arvada. I saw several homes that he had built in Breckenridge and I wanted a log accented home of my own. Since this was my first endeavor on such a monumental project, I relied on Tom's expertise to help me with the many decisions that had to be made. From start to finish he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He kept my project on budget and I was totally satisfied with his and his crews' workmanship. I've had many compliments on my home and am proud to "show it off".

I have and will recommend Hairy Yeti Construction again and again.

Tom knew his stuff. He came in with a video camera, notepad and a binder of information for us. I had asked him ahead of time if he could check for mold. He was very honest and let me know I could pay a lot for mold removal but he would tell me how to get to the source (the water) and prevent mold from forming/find out if we should worry. We asked for a radon detector and again he was honest about it and found out from the home owners at the time that they would be opening windows and going in and out so it would not be accurate. That saved us almost $200!
He did a thorough inspection and pointed out any and all potential problems to the point of scaring me away from buying. My husband wasn't swayed, we bought the house and now we're dealing with the fixes. Now that we've had a contractor look at the basement, I think he might have missed a few things. But that's not really a problem with the inspector - that's a million problems with our basement.

He was early and did a thorough job inspecting the home. I am a first time home buyer and he was patient and encouraged me to ask questions. He spent about 45 minutes going over the completed report with me explaining the issues and potential costs.

    HomeSpy Inspections
I called Homespy inspections and asked for an inspection within the week. Though they were very busy they found a time that worked for our shedule within a few days. The woman fielding calls for HomeSpy (I don't recall her name) was very pleasant and helpful but also very realistic. They returned calls promptly which was helpful in our time crunch.
On the day of the inspection Chris was right on time, even a bit early and had communicated well with us prior to the inspection so we knew what to expect and what exactly he would be looking at with the inspection. On the day of the inspection Chris was there with us at the house for almost 4 hours. He was incredibly thorough. He checked out all the things we had questions about and some things we would never even think to look at. He talked us through everything while he was doing the inspection. He is incredibly knowledgable and we now know much more about our new house thanks to him.
As part of the inspection he takes pictures and includes them in his inspection report making it very easy to jog our memory and explain things visually. Chris picked up on all sorts of little things we would never have noticed ourselves and helped confirm issues we had worries about. He addressed everything we had questions about and was patient, kind and informative. My father used to do radon testing professionally and double checked Chris's set up and confirmed that he was doing the test exactly as he should be. Apparently falsy low radon reports can be a problem with inspections.
Chris sent us our full inspection report within 24 hours and at the inspection gave us a handy binder to keep our report in. for all repairs and maintence Christ gave us a list of people he recommended. They are all one man operations so to quote Christ "you know what you're getting each and every time". Chris's services are a bit more expensive than many other companies but with Chris you get excellent service and peace of mind. Everyone who was present for our inspection was very impressed by him. He left us with no doubts that no stone had gone unturned. Even with the prospect of closing costs in the near future we felt that using Chris and HomeSpy Inspections was money well spent. If we need to do another home inspection Chris will be our first and only call.
