We had a large addition put on our house & garage & are happy with the end result. Unfortunately Brooks Design closed their doors as soon he finished our project so we are left with no warranty. Fortunately we haven't had major issues & I was able to contact the subcontractors directly for the couple of issues we did have. We would definitely have hired Brooks again to do our kitchen remodel & dining room addition if he hadn't closed. Fortunately the framer, Dewco Construction, who Brooks subcontracted our framing to is a wonderful general contractor who has done some small jobs for us since & we will likely hire him to do the framing on our kitchen & diningroom. So we did meet some good subcontractors through Brooks at least!

Mike was very responsive to our request for quote, and was the most affordable of the quotes we received. The work started on time, finished on time, and he communicated the daily progress and plan extremely well. The total bill for the job actually came in under the estimate by a small amount. He helped us pick out details for light locations, door hardware, etc., and we certainly appreciated the suggestions. The finished room looks fantastic, and one could not easily see that the work done was not an original part of the house. It appeared seamless with the remainder of the home, as we requested.

The process was horrible. We were told that construction would be complete as early as the end of September, and we were strung along with potential dates until the end of Dec. 2013, when we were told that we had to close on December 31, or face financial penalties. We were able to close on December 30, 2013, because we needed to move on the 31st, and the movers would not be available more than half a day. We closed on December 30, but the City of Arvada would not issue a occupancy permit until other changes were complete. In the inspection process there were several issues that were undone, and most were corrected. However we had requested an upgraded bathroom counter, and were told that this was holding up the process. At the final inspection the wrong counter top color and style was installed, and we were not notified of the change or given the opportunity to review other choices. This was a $1200.00 option that has not yet been corrected. I love the location and the design layout, but the quality of the construction and the responsiveness is unbearable. This is the single worst experience that I have had and I am not sure how they stay in business, except perhaps that people need to resell one day. I wish everyday that I had walked away from the $12,500.00, down payment.

I contracted with Craig (TJW owner) based on a referral from someone that he had done work for and with the BBB rating and Angies List referrals. This was to have a new window installed and redo a ledge (sill) adjacent to the window. Craig measured for a new window and ledge for me on Sept. 24th, 2014. I paid $335.00 for the window as he said he needed to pay Lowes where he was ordering it. (Craig also works for Lowes doing installs). I would pay the remaining amount when the installation was completed. My check cleared October 8th. I consistently contacted Craig to find out the status of the window so we could install before winter. He did answer his cell phone a couple times, said he could not talk right then, and said he would call me back. He never did. Other times I left messages to have him contact me and I never received a response. We finally spoke on Dec. 5th, when I called him. He was in another state. He scheduled me for the install for January 2, 2015.

On January 2, 2015, Craig called from Lowes and said they had lost my window - presumably had put it in with someone else's order. The window would have to now be reordered. He told me it would take only a couple weeks and he would make me a priority for the install.

January 25th, 2015 (3 weeks after the window should have been reordered), I called Craig once again for the status. I left a voice message on his cell phone and asked him to call. He did not contact me. I called and left another message on January 27th and January 31st. Again, no response.

I went to Lowes on February 15th. I spoke with the on-duty manager, Jonathan. He does know Craig and said Craig comes into that store often to help with their installs. This is the store at 5600 W 88th Ave, Westminster. (88th and Sheridan). He tried checking his system to see if the window had been reordered and could not find anything. He did explain that if the window was reordered from a different Lowes, he would not see that.

I then sent an email to the TJW Construction email address. I asked Craig if he intended to follow through on his commitment. If not, I asked for my window payment of $335.00 to be refunded to me. I also asked why this had gone on over 5 months. I asked for a response by the end of February. I did not get any response and have not heard anything since that time.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on March 18, 2015. As of April 6, 2015, they have not gotten a response from TJW Construction either.

I am requesting to have my money returned to me that I paid ($335.00).

Tom Allen and his crew came in after the foundation was set, and had to deal with an uneven foundation, and made a level floor and walls out of a bad foundation. The roof was complicated with an overlay of the existing roof, and Tom made sure all of the steps taken met the engineers expectation and ours, even when a roof line did not look right, Tom rebuilt the roof line so as to drain more efficiently.
Tom has spent allot of time to make sure all of the subs and his crew built to the expectation of the customer.
The end result is an addition that did not look like and addition.

My husband and I bought a home from Arrowhead Construction that they had fixed up and flipped. The drainage in the area is very tricky; there are no storm drains or gutters, basically all the homes have small ditch’s in front of their homes and a culvert pipe under their driveways. This allows water to flow down the street and in to a small ditch at the end of the street. One of the things that they did was to remove the culvert and install a French drain around the perimeter of the home. This French drain was supposed to collect water from around the house and drain in to the neighbors drain. Upon moving in, we started noticing that there were wet spots and muddy areas in certain areas around the outside of the house. We had several people look at the lot and even had a survey done to try to figure this out. We contracted someone to grade the lot correctly and to see what was going on. What we found out was that the French drain that they installed was done incorrectly. It was actually buried higher at the front of the home and lower at the back, allowing to water to flow TO the house rather than AWAY from it. After a rain, the water would flow towards the house and just sit in the drain causing constant wet and muddy areas. Also, it was about 2 feet BELOW my neighbors drain, and the pipe was smashed flat (so it would never work, unless water flows UP HILL). The work that they did was totally incorrect, and it is costing us $1000's of dollars to get it fixed. Before we had the work done, I sent Arrowhead an e-mail to ask if they had any ideas or info that might help us (I wasn’t asking them to fix it), however they never responded.

Their cost was way too far high.  We were looking for the lesser amount they were estimating.  They were very pleasant and very friendly.  Their estimate were out there compared to some of the other bidders.  We didn't have their official bids as well.  They were very nice.  They would do a very competent job.  They are very popular in the area where we live.  When they work in the house, they are one of the cool companies to work in the house.  We are paying for the brand.  They do a very good job, but they are very costly.  They were responsive.  We would not have any problem recommending them to someone who doesn't have a budget.

They are currently doing the project.  We have been strongly involved with the entire process.  Their general quality workmanship is very high.  Their scheduling and completing the schedule a little below optimal like one step down.  The value for dollar seems to be very good.  We are generally very happy with what had happen.  The cost was the first thing to choose them.  They seemed to be willing to work with us.  They were not a design house; but they were willing to work with us on us kind of do the design and they kind of finish it out.  They then just bring it to reality.  They were very accommodating to changes as the project started.  They estimated $30000 for the job.

I hired Tom Allen of Hairy Yeti Construction to design and build my custom home in Arvada.  I saw several homes that he had built in Breckenridge and I wanted a log accented home of my own.  Since this was my first endeavor on such a monumental project, I relied on Tom's expertise to help me with the many decisions that had to be made.  From start to finish he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.  He kept my  project on budget and I was totally satisfied with his and his crews' workmanship.  I've had many compliments on my home and am proud to "show it off".

I have and will recommend Hairy Yeti Construction again and again.

Kent did an outstanding job re-faceing my kitchen and three

bathrooms.  He did very high quality

work, was prompt, and even made good suggestions about design.  Kent is a great provider.
