    Great. Sebastian was very responsive to my repair request, knew what was needed, was on time, cleaned up and moved my appliance out and back and handled everything very professionally.. He completed the hookup in a timely manner and was very knowledgeable about my refrigerator. He also offered some helpful tips on getting the best use out of my appliance. I will call him again for my other appliance needs!

    I have always used Sears Appliance repair for our major appliances. I have never been happy with them but I guess I knew what to expect and they have been available every place I have lived. So...I called them on Monday, December 21 when our 4-year old washer wouldn't finish draining. Fortunately as it turns out, Sears couldn't send somebody until after Christmas. With a house full of guests, waiting until after the holidays wasn't a good option, so I searched here on Angie's List for an alternative and found Sebastian's Appliance Repair.
    They came out the next morning. They identified the problem (a bad pump) and fixed it all within an hour. They were punctual, polite, and did the job. I now have a new go-to company for appliance repair because I am very pleased with the service we got from Sebastian's.

    I have a one-year-old Samsung refrigerator-freezer with French doors on top and a large pull-out freezer drawer on the bottom.  I noticed that freezer was no longer keeping food as cold as it should -- the problem seemed to be that the freezer drawer was no longer forming a tight seal.  I called Sebastian in the morning and he said he could come check out the problem that same afternoon.  He arrived on time, exactly when he said he would.  After looking at my freezer, and removing the two large food storage bins, he discovered that the problem was large blocks of ice that had formed in the bottom of the freezer, creating a blockage that prevented the freezer door from closing completely.  We removed the blocks of ice and the freezer door was once again able to close properly -- problem solved!  I felt that the $145.00 charge ($75 for the service call, plus $70 for labor) was a bit steep for a service call that lasted only 20 minutes and required no tools or specialized repairs, but on the other hand, I have to say that Sebastian was highly responsive, prompt, and professional, and there is no question that he did solve the problem!

    I called this company (now named Gabriel Alley) when my A/C was not working properly.  They did show up on time.  Their technician said my Freon was low and that my capacitor that starts the fan motor was bad.  He put Freon in and replaced the capacitor.  He spent less than an hour and charged me $290.  By the way, they charged $220 for the capacitor and I looked it up online and could have purchased it for $40.   The system worked briefly after he left, then quit.  I called them back on the forth of July. They did show up on time.  The tech said I was low on Freon again.  He put some more in.  He then told me he thought the fan motor was bad and recommended I have it replaced.  He quoted me $700. .  He left and the system quit shortly afterwords. On July 5th, I called a different company.  They came out and told me the system had been over-charged with Freon and he had to remove some.  The new company spent an hour testing the system and did not have a final solution.  But they told me they would call me back.  Before they left, I had them check the capacitor that was replaced by this company and he said it was not bad.   He also said that since I had a system made by Trane, that it should have a 10 year warranty and even if the capacitor was bad, it should have been replaced for just the cost of labor.  Alley and company was not a Trane service Co. so maybe they didn't know. Still it should not have been replaced.  This second company called me back a few days later and said they were sure the problem was the Thermal Expansion Valve on the Air Exchanger inside the house. I gave the OK to replace it and the system has ran beautifully ever since then.  I called Gabriel Alley to see if they would give me a partial refund since the work they preformed did nothing.  They were very quick to explain that their competitors often bad mouth them and they probably told me the capacitor was good, just to discredit the work that Gabriel Alley had done.  He was very sure all the work preformed was needed.  hmmmm.  They offered nothing but excuses and blame.  He had no explanation why his tech would not have diagnosed the problem correctly.  Who would you believe?  I give this company an F.

    Have visited A-1 twice now regarding repair or replacement of my dishwasher and fridge/freezer. I know the dishwasher needs replacing. The fridge/freezer I had hoped to have repaired. They were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I was quite please. Although I am still shopping and deciding - I will give them an edge for my business because of the helpfulness & competence of staff particularly a young man who's name (I think) was Michael. He knew model numbers, item features pro and con of each model and brand. Additionally he assisted without pressuring me to buy rather than repair. He set forth the alternatives however and was willing to help with either option. Later I returned and spoke with a pleasant woman who gave me an idea what it will cost to replace the ice machine auger and bucket assembly. Again - there was no pressure to buy over repair. This is a big "plus" in my book. Because I haven't completed my research I wasn't sure whether to grade A-! "fair" or "good" on prices. BestBuy has better prices, Sears seems a bit high but I have a hunch A-1 will stand behind their stuff the best.

    Great! We had an excellent experience working with Daryl, who really went above and beyond. He is very skilled in so many areas and puts his heart into things and goes the extra mile to make everything good. Daryl works right on site so we felt confident the work was getting done. He works closely with the real estate agent and coordinated well with the agent in terms of timing and items to be performed. This took lots of pressure off of us. Daryl was very generous to us when our escrow was delayed, i.e., he was patient about our paying him since funds were supposed to come from escrow. (Once we realized the escrow was very delayed, we just paid him out of pocket). Our only issue with Daryl was incomplete clean-up, but he took care of this when he was asked to by the real estate agent. Also, we found Daryl's prices to be more than competitive. This is a great deal!
