    I was a general contractor building million dollar homes in Malibu for 10 years. I share that aspect with readers of this review because in all my time as a builder-developer and since as just a regular homeowner, I have yet to meet a better handyman. Alex is a consummate professional in every regard. He did what was asked, gave expert professional opinions and suggestions about the best solutions and why he would recommend a particular course of action. He never was looking to overwork a problem or overcharge and I would have known immediately, Instead, he looked for the best most efficient solutions that would be in my best interest as a homeowner. I give Alex and his company the highest rating across all fronts. Ps- he is a really great guy and a pleasure to work with.

    Excellent. Our older Maytag dryer was not heating up, and then wasn't turning on, even though there was power (the light came on when opening the door) and the vent/duct was clean. Joseph identified the problems within five minutes: no heat due to broken gas valve coil and no power simply because the dial was broken. He went to his van, replaced the coil(s) and added a temporary dial so the dryer would work. A few days later he came back with the replacement dial. We have used Lerman a few times, including for a rental property. They have given new life to older appliances that have saved us money in the long run.

    The obligatory service call despite knowing exactly what was wrong with my fridge. Had to call back multiple times despite being told they would call me. They finally got back to me with the quote for the part and repair. Then he came and replaced the part but the fridge still isn't working and no one will return my call about it but money was paid out.

    Basic problem, drain line was clogged. Told me ice maker needed replacement. I'm not sure that was true. Paid for new ice maker, cleaned out drain line and removed debris from coils. Tech was polite and efficient. I was not informed a veteran's discount was available. I could have shown proof had I been properly informed.

    Beware of the show! Seems like the repairman made a big deal about the problem and was not sure how to fix the oven. He then gave a worse case scenario that the control board could be bad and he had issues with accessing the components. Given that he said that could be $320 and if he needed to move the oven that would be an extra $150. Thinking about the price of the components I though maybe this is OK. I also showed him why moving the oven was not necessary so he did not push on this. He then asked me if I agreed to the $320 estimate which I was stuck with and as soon as I did the show ended and he seemed to know exactly how to fix it. All it was a blown thermal fuse. They charged me $65 for that part that lists for $22 from the manufacturer. The repair took him 45 minutes. Given that it was not a expensive component and not very much time you would think they would be honest and lower the fee. But of course he did not. I was stuck with the $320 bill. Not going to use them again.

    Although I was impressed by the reliability of this company to come out during the window of time and giving me 1/2 hour notice that they were on their way, this turned out to be over a month's time and very frustrating. The job required multiple visits to my home. I had to call the owner and his helper back several times since the first few visits did not fix the problem. Two ice makers had to be installed. The first one was not "long enough" so didn't come into contact with the ice as it built up and therefore never shut off. The owner's helper added a piece to it to make it longer (never did that before!) and that didn't work. The ice maker should have just been replaced at that point. Now, I am left with an ice maker that does not shut off automatically so constantly makes ice. I now have to turn the ice maker on and off all the time which is an inconvenience since it is not easy to access the on/off switch. The owner has now REFUSED to come back to my house to finish the job. I called GE (the distributor of the ice maker) and their customer service person told me that the sensor is bad. The owner denies there is a sensor in the unit. GE also said that I had every right to expect the owner to stand behind his work. There is a 90 day warranty on parts and labor but doesn't seem like he wants to stand behind that statement on the invoice. The owner suggested I took advantage of him but if calling him back after each visit when the frig wouldn't hold the temperature or the ice maker was not working properly, I disagree with him. I did NOT take advantage of him and his company. I just wanted the repair to be made. I've had appliances fixed over the years and never had such a disagreeable experience. I feel like I've been left high and dry and the job is not unfinished. The owner's "secretary" said she would reimburse me for the cost of the icemaker; the owner let me know that he would NOT reimburse me and would not come out again. I would never use this company again.

    Joseph was our repairman. He figured out what was wrong with our refrigerator door did an excellent job of repairing it. We were very happy with the service and the repair. We also applied a coupon that we bought on Angie's list and that saved us $20.00.

    The technician arrived five minutes early and he seemed like a nice guy, clean and professional. He examined our Vent Hood and discovered that a piece of some type of packing material had gotten into the fan and it was wound in there tight and it was causing the fan to strain. It looked like it had been there for a while, but the stress it had put on the fan had eventually worn the fan out to the point where it was making that noise. He removed the material and the noise went away for the most part. He oiled the fan and it helped, but it still was not as quiet as it used to be. He said that the fan was worn out because it had that material stuck in it for some time forcing the fan to work extra hard all the time. I decided to just have him replace the fan outright. He told me he thought that that would be for the best. The repairman Donald scheduled a time to come back and replace the fan, and it has worked fine ever since. I was expecting to get hit with a big bill, but when Donald handed me the bill, I was really surprised at how reasonable the final bill was. My Appliance Repair La is a really honest company they have competent technicians and they do not overcharge you for the work they do. If you have an appliance that needs fixed in the Los Angeles area you should give them a call.
