    Pro Gardening LLC
I bought a deal for 4 hours with two workers. We scheduled for the work to be done the following week. They did the work requested, but my problem with them was that they came the day before our scheduled appt. and didn't notify me until after the work was already done. This meant that I had no way of knowing if they in fact worked for 4 hours and might have been able to more work. Any future appts. will be more forcefully enforced.

    TOLLY LANDSCAPE INC.
Initially, I thought the price of the contract was excessive, but after seeing all of the work they did, I think it was a good value.  Jeff and his teams worked hard to satisfy the customer and accommodate the adjustments I wanted as the work progressed.  Pedro did especially good work.

I have used this tree service three times now.  They have always returned phone calls promptly and arrived on time for both the estimate and the work.  Very professional operation and a competitive price.

    JOSE TREE SERVICE
I contacted this company to provide an estimate for clearing out some trees. They let me know that they would be by the house to see the trees and provide an estimate. They did not show up at the scheduled time - or at all for that matter. No phone calls to explain their tardiness or to reschedule for another day. They just stood me up.

The main office called and set up a day and time for the crew to come.  The crew was very fast and efficient.  Two members of the crew were in the tree with chainsaws and pole clippers, two were on the ground gathering debri and one was at the mulcher.  Don arrived toward the end and pitched in cleaning up.  This was a well trained team.
I was impressed with the team work.  Everyone did their job well.  I will use this company again without hesitation. And the tree looks great.

    Alford's English Gardens
I have a single storey home on a corner lot (highly visible) and am surrounded by 2 storey homes. We have made a concerted effort to try to maintain a pretty front (and back) yard over the years as a result. I have had 3 other Yard companies in the past 16+ yrs at my home. Am not much of a gardener and have no real interest in doing yard work ongoing. I looked for a company that I could turn over ALL yard maintenance work for years who knew what knew what to do, when and how to do it without requiring direction from me nor having to make multiple phone calls so requesting. Until I found Alford's, I was not successful in finding such a company. Kathy, an arborist, came out to initially look at a sickly carrotwood tree in my front yard. Was honest enough to tell me I would be better served having the tree removed as opposed to spending $$$ to try to salvage the tree which in the end wouldn't help. Thought it was quite remarkable a professed "tree person" knew when a tree was not able to be saved and made no attempt to talk me into paying for all kinds of expensive treatments that would not yield a successful result. She gave me a list with photos of 3 trees she thought would suit my front yard and let me choose what I wanted (a pretty crepe myrtle) . It helped there are no city owned trees anywhere in my housing tract so I could remove and replace anything without having the hassle of dealing with the city. I am hoping a sick looking magnolia tree in my back yard can be saved- she said she thought it could with proper care so we shall see. No additional $ outlay required for same either. Irrigation problem areas were also identified. Didn't know a prev Yard company had diverted a water line away from one area to serve another- no wonder nothing survived in that one area! I was assured Alford's came as far east to where I live in No Orange County from its Signal Hill base on a weekly basis for maintenance. Was also assured Alford's would only use a lawn mover that exclusively cut only Marathon II grass so as not to cross contaminate my grass with weeds, bugs and other "gunk" from other people's lawns. While the monthly fee is more than what I had been paying I can rest easier knowing my yard, front and back, is in capable hands and that I can be away from my home and know the exterior will be taken care of. In the end, you get what you pay for. Her crew worked tirelessly and did everything in 1+ day, returning the next day to replace a sprinkler head that had broken when merely touched. All spoke English which was a big relief re: communicating questions etc, were very polite and got the job done without "disappearing" to go work on another job or simply take off leaving things undone. I met the Supr who said she would be by monthly to do a walk-through to make sure everything was being taken care of properly. Office staff a bit disorganized but were fairly prompt in calling back or correcting something that included things such as conveying info/questions/requests to Kathy and getting estimates via Email for all work proposed to me . Alford's did a lovely job in a timely manner and I am most pleased with how everything looks! I leave it in Alford's hands to keep it well tended and alive, something I am not knowledgable enough to do nor able to do myself.

    Dan's Tree Service
We got a really good estimate from Dan to remove a tree & trim two others. Before the work commenced, though, a storm took out one of the trees. Dan came by the next day to take a look at the downed tree, and arranged to come the following day to remove it. He didn't show, and didn't call. I had to follow up with him, and arrange another day. When his crew did show up, he left them to perform the work, checking in once or twice during the day. Although industrious, the two guys performing the work were far from fastidious, and left a big mess. They left a rake in the middle of the sidewalk, and didn't clean up the debris. We had agreed to remove the second tree and perform tree trimming approx. 1 1/2 weeks later, and again the crew didn't show up on the day agreed upon. Yet again I had to call and make alternative arrangements. Once the crew arrived, they were industrious, but messy. They did a good job with the tree removal, and the trimmed tree looks very good. However, it was very difficult tracking Dan down to return the rake & give him his check. I like the work that Dan's Tree Service performs, but I am frustrated with the difficulty in talking to Dan & getting a committment for a start date.

    Vargas Tree Service Inc
They arrived promptly as promised and completed their work on time as promised in the contract. For the quality of the work they provided the price was fair. We could've used a less expensive service but were afraid others would damage underground gas lines and such. But the guys at Vargas Tree Service used the best equipments in avoiding all that. Overall, these guys were excellent.

    JOSE TREE SERVICE
This company responded the very day I called for service!! The estimator Antonio, was very knowledgeable about the types of trees that I have in my patio. I originally wanted a short trim, but he recommended a much larger trim because of the top heaviness of the trees. The also advised that one tree be removed because it was nearly dead; of which I was not aware of at all!! The workers arrived and cut the trees as recommended and did superior work. They were very thorough and followed instructions to trim the trees away from the patio wall, because the wall will be replaced shortly. Excellent!! They then removed the dead tree and its stump, as well as the dead palm stump. The clean up was very thorough. The branches and leaves were swept up as well as cleared away with a leaf blower. I will not have to trim the trees for quite some time. This company has true arborists and know their stuff!! Highly recommended!!
