Michael helped us with numerous projects throughout the last 8 yrs. On all kinds of home improvement projects. His knowledge and expertise is amazing, and his work ethic outstanding. He's very meticulous and detail oriented, and always professional in his approach to difficult circumstances. Just a real pleasure to work with and be around. Highly recommend him for any job, big or small.

    BLIZZARD FRAMELESS SHOWER DOORS, INC.
He was very professional and timely. He explained all the options and their benefits or drawbacks. He did not pressure to upgrade. I did have the glass coated, given the benefits he explained. The job was completed to my satisfaction on time and on budget. I'd hire them again.

    OC Home Builders, Inc.
They wanted to know how I got their name ( off of angies list) and informed me that the;y are used to working on bigger jobs than mine( entry doors), and that I should go to Lowes or Home Depot. This was a $1750.00 job (their labor) and they were not really interested in it. They were polite and I was very dissappointed. First and probably last time I use Angies List.

    Seacliff Builders
Due to some fairly extensive structural changes, we had plans prepared for city plan-check approval and sent to several contractors along with a detailed scope of work. We ended up choosing Seacliff Builders, even though Darrens bid was not the lowest, because we felt immediately comfortable with his easy-going demeanor and swift grasp of project requirements, together with so many great Angies List reviews. Since we were going to live through the remodel process with all the mess, noise and disruption, it was vitally important that these issues be minimized. Darrens crews did all they could to achieve that goal, from providing zip-walls to minimize dust entering our safe zones, to respecting our privacy and premises, to daily cleanup of work areas, to always being pleasant and courteous, to almost always being on-time. We were kept informed of upcoming disruptive events such as water and power outages. Not to say the whole process was blissful, but they tried very hard to keep it tolerable. Darren was responsive throughout and maintained good communication; he is quick at replying to text messages and prompt returning phone calls when he cannot answer. He is always friendly and thoughtful. Darren pays close attention to detail and ensures a quality finished product. He is more than fair; virtually nothing was out-of-scope. Changes we did request were priced reasonably. A good portion of our project was subcontracted due to size and complexity. The framing sub was really good, and fast, electricians and plumbers were exceptional, the granite guy did an excellent job on the quartz countertops; all were enjoyable and considerate. The only sub we were not totally happy with was the drywall installer/painter. Unfortunately, his portion of work was done the week before Christmas; they rushed to complete before Christmas Eve but could have spent another day to do a better job. I did not have Darren sub out flooring, backsplash or stone work as my nephew is a licensed contractor and did those items. Darrens employees, Charlie and Aurelio, did kitchen demo and new cabinet installation, appliance installation and hook-ups, faucets and water supplies, sink drains, some of the drywall and patching/texture/painting, door demo/replacing/painting. Each is impressive with his own special talents, while both were always a pleasure to have working in our home. I was happy that Darren, along with critical subs, were all present during each city inspection to answer any concerns. Every inspection went smoothly though; these guys know when they see quality work. Since completion, we have called Darren for two very minor issues. He has responded immediately and sent Charlie to resolve things. He has reiterated that there is a one year warranty and all we have to do is call; I know he will continue to guaranty his work. Darren is easy-going, pleasant to work with, honest, responsive; a true professional. He delivers a high quality product. I strongly recommend Seacliff Builders.

    Today's Entry Doors
We had a really tough time deciding on a front door. They were patient and so kind, really gave us every option we requested. Helped manage our expectations, super responsive to all our requests. In the end, we couldn't be happier with the overall experience. We love our new front door!

    IND Construction Inc
David, the owner, is pleasant and friendly to work with. He personally works hard to achieve customer satisfaction, but needs better support from his sub contractors and workers. We found the quality of work provided by IND usually adequate , but not as high as other contractors that worked on our remodel. Probably the part that IND had the most difficulty with was the painting of the fascia boards, which developed bubbles, or blistering. Despite the repeated painting, they were not able to resolve the issue. We ended the contract and brought in another, more experienced painter, who was able to correct the problem. We concluded the bubbles were caused by the use of improper primer and patching material (spackling). Later work by another contractor, who replaced the driveway, revealed that the concrete for the foundation footings had not been poured properly. Another concern was that the sink cut outs in the kitchen quartz counter tops have an excessive over hang of the counter top, which allows for mold and mildew to grow underneath the counter top above the sink. There were some issues during the construction that David proactively resolved, despite whether it was IND's responsibility to correct or the architect's. One example was the width of the garage door, which had originally been framed a little too small. At the beginning, IND kept construction going at a rapid pace, but later the pace slowed down. David has a mind for efficiency, and the distance between IND's base in the San Fernando Valley and my house in Orange County caused work on our project to be given lower priority. Also, some of the tasks were not done in the right sequence, causing re-worked for a roughly finished result. The stucco brown coat inspection was not accomplished before the color coat was applied. The contract could have more clearly delineated what was provided and what was not included. That would have prevented some misunderstandings later on, but IND made an extra effort many times during construction to accommodate our particular requests and changes that were identified as needed as work progressed.

    Approved Contractor Inc.
Our house and detached garage needed major stucco, paint and a new Stack Stone facade work done along with a new front and side door and a pair of windows for two rooms. Our home is almost 60 years old and was in dire need of exterior work.
Due to having almost universally bad experiences with various contractors in the past, my husband and I took almost 3 months interviewing various contractors and getting bids before settling on Approved Contractors.  We weren't looking for lowball bids, just a contractor that would do good work at a fair price and in a timely fashion.  The bids ranged from as low as $5k up to $25k+.  Approved Contractors came in about $13k with the caveat we bought the Stack Stone material and the new doors/framing on our own which was an additional $4k.  They provided all other materials (stucco, paint, etc).
Once the project date was set about 6 weeks after we inked the contract, we dealt mostly with the manager Justin who was very responsive via e-mail or phone.  If I had any questions, such as a day or two which it rained and when work could resume, he returned my call or e-mail within the same day, usually within an hour or two.  Jesus was the on-site crew manager for the majority of the exterior work and was very friendly and accommodating to any questions or issues we brought up (such as we changed the color of one part of the front as they started painting it!).  One particular issue I had was during the week much of the work was done, it was extremely hot in the house and we had to move a large AC unit frequently to disconnect and re-connnect before and after exterior work was done during the day and the crew helped me move the huge unit in and out of it's housing so my family had AC in the evening.
The doors and windows were installed in one day about a week before the exterior was started.  The work on the house exterior was started on the agreed upon day and the crew was always the as-needed number of workers.  No one or two guys dragging out the job for weeks - in fact, they finished a couple days ahead of schedule despite a two day rain interruption.  When the front exterior wall and planters were torn out, it was discovered that there was no insulation in the walls which was addressed during the same day for a very reasonable and prior approved add-on price. Walls were pressure blasted and any significant cracks, etc were pointed out to me and what kind of work was required to patch and fix them.
The quality of work was excellent and exactly what we wanted.  Great care was taken with keeping the grounds clean during and after a day's work.  As noted, they actually finished the project in two week's time (including working a Saturday) *under* the estimated time frame for completion.
Like many people, I'm more motivated to write and complain about a bad experience with a business, but my positive experience with Approved Contractors was so strikingly good, I feel compelled to take the time to note what a great experience getting my house done with these people has been.

    Bourke Construction Inc
Project was completed in 2011, all work was excellent, on redesign/update of outside of single story home.  This included shingles, new front door, trim, paint, electrical, new garage door.  After three years some minor problems developed and Mr. Bourke corrected them in short order.  I would recommend Bourke Construction.  We were very pleased with the work and responsiveness/helpfulness when questions arose.

    Envirogreen Windows & Doors Inc
I rated the quality as B but I haven't bought a lot of windows so I have nothing to compare them with. All I can say is that I really like them.
What I am sure of is that this is a great company to buy from. The sales person was nice, punctual and responsive. The measurements were accurate. They explained everything to me about their process. The contracts person and the sales person got everything arranged within minutes of my decision to go with them, even though it was about 8PM. The installation crew was amazing. There were 3-4 men in the crew and everything was installed and cleaned-up in about eight hours. I had a couple of windows that were difficult to reach, they had to trim the windows to fit inside the fake shutters, they modified a dog door panel to fit in the new sliding door, and they had to remove old window covering hardware that was in the way. Finally, they were the best price (less than half the top bid).
I'm encouraging others in my family to buy their replacement windows from Envirogreen.
